Quickly go for PPF to minimise the risk of paint chip.

Hi, what about DC blue? will it have the same issue?
Thank you
*
Not that obvious as SRC, as I've been driving my DCB since Feb this year.
Although I noticed some few paint chips here and there, my daily work commuting is almost 90 km to and fro, using DUKE and NKVE on highway speed, so paint chip is definitely non avoidable.

But I do agree that the paint layer is quite thin compared to my previous CBU 2011 KIA Sportage or my FIL's CKD 2014 Honda CR-V.

did you do coating for your car ?
*
I did Sensa Coating for my CX-5 which only cost me less than RM800.
I doubt more expensive coating costing a few times more will prevent any paint chip.

Sigh, the more I read the more I start to regret. Pay premium to get this kind of quality...
*
Don't despair.
At least you guys don't have to pay the 6% GST, unlike some of us early adopters cry.gif

It is a good car, with better driving dynamic over the similarly-priced SUVs.

Way I mean isn auto lock after we park , exit and move away from the car.
No need to press the key, or the button at the door.
*
Yup,
You can disable the Walk Away Lock and also change the Auto Relock Time from 30s, 60s or 90s

If you want practicality, with large boot space, rear seats space and intent to carry 4-5 adults, get the CR-V.
But if you after driving dynamic, hard to beat CX-5 with other similarly priced SUV.

Saw a post in CX5 Facebook Group. Apparently the Raytech safety tint does not do much against break in. Windows still shattered into pieces.

Our car does not come with car alarm?
*
No alarm from break-in or such.
If install 3rd-party alarm system will surely involved wire tapping and affect the warranty.

I see..pasang cannot, x pasang also cannot. Sigh.
*
Pasang at your own risk.

The SC might close one eye at their discretion.
If they want to void the warranty, maybe only on the electronic as the stock wiring already been tampered

Did you add on any extra alarm for the car?
*
Not yet.
Only have the pedal lock.

Thinking of installing GPS tracker, as a friend of mine installed on his Hilux rental units for RM500 with RM15 monthly GSM subscription.
With real-time tracking, can remotely switch-off engine, alarm when travel outside the determined radius, etc.

I'm more worried of total lost rather than break-in

Hey all.. Decided to check tires pressure and all four were over 300.. I believe around 33x or so. This normal? Cuz I've read that new car tires are usually over inflated as the cars are stored and air leaks over time. I've reduced all to 260 rather than the recommended 250 on the door jamb.. This alright? 19" tires here. Ride feels more comfy and much less bumpy.
*
Normal bro.
Mine when just collected from Bermaz was also above 300 kPa.
Standard practice for dealers to over inflate the tyres due to the reason your mentioned
I've kept mine to about 270 for the front and 260 for the rear, rather than 250 all around

Oh alright.. Thanks for confirming. Mind sharing, why you keep yours as above?
*
No scientific reason, but I do notice that the front tyres tend to leak air at higher rate than the rear tyres, maybe due to the engine weight, so I just pump more air to the front.

Mine shows 2018 on the website, and on the geran also shown 2018.

Considering I collected mine in early Feb, I'm more worried if they sold me 2017 car rather than you guys which collected your CX-5s at much later date

Ohhhhh! The VIN is hidden underneath the carpet!! No wonder I couldn't find it. Everyone was saying it was at the driver's side pillar there but all I found is the tyre pressure sticker  sweat.gif
*
By right, under the tyre pressure sticker on the driver's door side also have the metal sheet with VIN ID, model no, trans type, paint ID, among others

do you know roughly how much it costs to tweak this?
*
Sidek Salleh charges about Rm150 to disable iStop feature, by plugging to the OBD2 port and flash it from his laptop.
So I reckon the charges will be around that.
If need to open the dashboard and activate the Android Auto using serial cable, etc, his charges is abt Rm400

HI, what is the next step when you booked the car and load approved?
Waiting for SA to do allocation?

Is 2.0 GLS only can be filled with RON 97 ?

Thank you
*
Wait until the SA calls you and ask you to prepare the downpayment.
RON 95 is good enough, but some swears to RON97. Depends how deep is your pocket

like getting a can of carbon deposit cleaner (RM42 for mazda 1, or RM50+ for caltex tecthron).
*
Nowadays, Bermaz gives free carbon deposit cleaner when you do the servicing with Bermaz.
Not sure of dealers SC though
When I registered my car for 10k servicing at the receptionist, the service agent wanted to give me the deposit cleaner until I told him mine is 2.2D tongue.gif
