With GTX 960 pricing, I think going to R9 280/280X will make more sense right?

Update:

Been using Leadtek brand for the past 2 years. Lately, the Leadtek GTX 560 Ti suffers from Nvidia stopped responding and successfully recovered issue, which is quite annoying.

Now, I'm going for Zotac brand, most of my friends are using it and they recommend me that brand. Expensive by RM100 only i guess..

Leadtek 970gtx is a good buy if you can get it with the ssd bundle at 1399.. If not, better to get the gigabyte g1 gaming or zotac extreme.. Im a leadtek 970 owner.. Here is my bechmark score with some oc to the gpu.. http://www.3dmark.com/fs/3879228

Which shop did you asked for the bundle?? Idelatech & techview? But yeah, the 290x will surely going to be needing a better psu compared to the 980.. Heck i myself am planning to sli the 970gtx in march due to the very low power usage of the cards.. Found in youtube, one user sli his strix 970 with i7 4770k oc, total power pull from the wall is 480watt on full load..

A bit high reach for me for that price. I'm still using 1080p and already ordered one unit of 970. SLI probably can solve the problem eh?

Else I just stay 1080p lo, save money. Haiz... unsure.gif

depending on what is your term on "max settings"

if includes AA, its impossible even for GTX980

without AA, its possible

Aa... yeah. Probably will only on 2x MSAA or whatever AA, max will on 4X, but rarely. Saw those benchmark on Dragon Age Inquisition, so taxing on GC. sweat.gif

You don't need max AA when you go 1440p, the higher resolution already compensated for the AA. If you really insist to max setting (unless you have eagle eyes or you just want to show off), then try SLI 970.

MSAA is a real killer to GPU perf, it can nearly halve the FPS sweat.gif

AA is overrated. I stick to 2. 4 at most.

AA was introduced to eliminate jaggies but nowadays Full HD on 24in or smaller monitor, the difference is so little and you won't have time to spot them.

I see, so far only have 1080p to test, i heard this also, 4k likely dont need any AA, but 1440p will check it out. Probably wont have the budget to buy monitor also, there is a new dell monitor, 25" with 1440p reso? like RM1300, will check it out if got budget some day.

Wow, Thats hurt, I havent check what AA is that in my game, mostly play MechWarrior Online, like Post AA? Not sure, well, play other games also, probably on 2x or 4x.

maybe some of the games wont notice, but the one i played, like MechWarrior Online, Its very obvious without AA, jaggies!

Hopefully my coming card wont have the coil whine problem, some said need burn in? the longer u use the card, the silent it is, oh well, i can accept that. Haha. Most said on v-sync will solve the problem, like only having coil whine with very high fps, usually in menu. Some occurred in benchmark too. We will see.

it depends on the game as well, modern GPU should have no issues tolerating high AA setting on older games. i toss in 16xCSAA (8x MSAA equivalent) for Left 4 Dead 2 and i get quite a huge hit, but im still running at ~80FPS anyway

throw in modern games like Crysis 3, at 4x MSAA, and im averaging at 20-30FPS sweat.gif
