I'm looking for the Nvidia GTX 970 with NVIDIA Reference cooler (Similar with Titan). Seems Gibbo from overclock UK have resolved the coil whine issue, but not sure how true is his statement. Here is what he did.
QUOTE Good news regarding coil whine, we've requested our factory to make some changes to the capacitors on our cards, the revisions include:- Capacitors surrounded by plastic containers which are then stuck to the PCB by glue, very similar/same to what Powercolor themselves do on PCS+ cards. This will help reduce coil whine and eliminate it ![]() Source: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18629271 From my finding, Gibbo is working with MANLI to produce this card. MANLI HQ is located in Hong Kong. They selling it via their e-shop for USD 459. Quite pricey, but in US the price only USD 300. I prefer Nvidia Reference Cooler because it exhaust the heat out of the PC casing. Great for SLI Manli e-Store: http://estore.manli.com/index.php/nvidia-g...rce-gtx970.html Anyone know is there any local distributor selling this card? So far, no coil whine detected for my gtx970 g1 gaming, only for case fans noise.

GTX 960 can definitely handle 1080p fine. Last time I had GTX 760 and I can even play smoothly on High/Ultra at 1080p. The only problem is its current pricing structure. Most units now retail at RM999. For cheaper than that, I think around RM759 you can get AMD's R9 280 which offers nearly similar performance. Top up another RM100 and you can get the stock GTX 970. |

Stock GTX 970 is RM 1099.
Cheapest GTX 960 is around RM 850. R9 280 is quite a bit behind the R9 285 performance, which is around RM 850 too. |
