AA is overrated. I stick to 2. 4 at most.

AA was introduced to eliminate jaggies but nowadays Full HD on 24in or smaller monitor, the difference is so little and you won't have time to spot them.

I still can notice a big difference for certain games on 4xAA.

Yeah, less AA required for higher resolution.

I see, so far only have 1080p to test, i heard this also, 4k likely dont need any AA, but 1440p will check it out. Probably wont have the budget to buy monitor also, there is a new dell monitor, 25" with 1440p reso? like RM1300, will check it out if got budget some day.

I have playing 1440p using my GTX 670 for at least 1.5 years. Of course, GTX 670 only have half of the processing capability when compared to GTX 980, nevertheless I played games like Witcher 2, Tomb Raider, and Metro Redux. 1440p at 30 fps is doable, heck I can even turn on TressFX on Lara on my GTX 670.

At 1440p / 60 fps then you need to turn down quite a lot, to medium settings or so, although the jaggedness isn't that obvious unless you really trying to pay attention to it.

If you want max setting at 1440p and at 60 fps, then GTX 980 is the way to go.

However you don't even have the budget to buy 1440p monitor so why insist on max setting 1440p? Just enjoy with what you have.

Nice... envy of your setup. Received my card last night, ran some testing on Mechwarrior Online, wow, 1080p with DX11 max setting, (AA only have one option: PostAA, no 2x, 4x, 8x etc), cant get steady 50-60, during heavy battle, will drop to 30-ish, luckily didnt use 1440p.

But wow, DX11 glory.... thumbup.gif

Multiplayer shifts the requirements to CPU. GPU alone is not enough. Even overclocked i5 has issues on BF4 large multiplayer maps.

Yeah. Objects, physics, number of models and number of SFX all on CPU.

Leadtek GTX960 is at the same price as GTX760. Maybe you should look for that instead.

GTX960 is generally considered as a new replacement for 760
That GTX760 is really an old card brows.gif

Performance wise I am not sure, but I think it should not be far away from 760

I already get my GTX 970..if only there's a 760 last week, I can save up more money

Could have waited for what?

Btw, I'm creating a new thread to ask about some problems that i'm facing..

Running Crysis 3 on 1366x768 (I don't have new Full HD monitor), everything on VERY HIGH settings, AA is the most max.

Normal gameplay on every map gives me 90 to 100 plus FPS, when I open V-sync, it's 60 FPS being capped. But the problem is, when I'm playing on a map (dead New York with electrical transmission cables, field with lots of grass), my FPS drops to 30 and 40 FPS

Whats the problem here? My CPU bottlenecks?

I'm playing original Crysis 3 on Origin by the way, got latest updates too.

The release of GTX960
I remembered your thread, it was recently, GTX 960 was also going to be release at the time of your asking us which card to purchase

V-sync caps the FPS at 60fps, depending on the monitor refresh rate, this is the norm

Try switching off the V-sync, should be an improvement
There are alot types of V-sync, which I am not familiar with any of them, so best is to turn the V-sync off, for me at least

I am able to run Battlefield 4 at maximum ultra settings, at 1366x768 at 120++ FPS, no stuttering and lagging at all. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, also very smooth, but when loading screen, the video stutters around few seconds when initial loading.

Another question I would like to ask.

Have you seen the problem about "Display Driver has stopped responding and fully recovered"? My old GTX 560 Ti seems to have that problem. Don't know if I should sell away my GTX 560 Ti or not lol

On discreet card, never
But on my laptop, yes

My situation turns out to be the driver I are using
Try re-installing the driver again
I did that on my laptop it turns out the current driver was corrupted, for whatever reasons
It normally happens to me on start up rather than in game
Windows starting, "Display Driver has stopped responding and fully recovered" error pops out

Could it be graphic card hardware problem? or software problem?

I encounter that error when I'm running AutoCAD and heavy multi-tasking. Seldom occurs during gaming...

some people say change Windows to basic mode, don't use Aero effects.

Just worry if its my 560Ti problem, then hard to sell already lol
