Assalammualaikum all, I need your help.

Today, my non-muslim Bos ask me. Why muslim prayer have specific time? Why have 5 time per day.

I do not know how to answer him immediately as my Bos have no religion and he do not like to hear long explanation . How to make the explanation short and easy for him to understand?

You can actually tell him a story about Islam but none of it would matter, like how we have 5 times a day n etc. You can tell him what it feels like to pray. When u have problems, u make wudhu n pray, ur problems don't go away, but ur reminded of a time where none of ur problems in this life will matter.

I can't rlly find the right words to say. U can ask urself dt question first before u answer ur boss. Try listening to Nouman Ali Khan...i love his explanation on surahs and etc

U answer him, because its God’s command. Muslims obey it unquestioningly. Refusal to do so is sinful, and may lead to punishment of hellfire.

If he doesnt believe in God or hell fire than its his problem

Personally for me, doubts are there to be addressed. I can't follow any command without question, there's a reason and logic behind everything that Allah commands...the more I study it, the more it confirms the truth for me.

Tell you boss it's like paying tax. You may skip it, which makes you a not so good citizen and there might be consequences in the end.

I've read somewhere (cant remember, tru to find online again but cant find) about the physical benefit of praying. It explain why 2 rakaat for subuh, why 4 rakaat after lunch time (zohor), why 4 rakaat for asar and so on. It also explains why phisically it's good to do tahajud if you woke up in the middle of the night etc.

All I can say ia that when I started praying again (yeah, I was once young and wild and ignorant) I can feel great when performing subuh prayer. Better than jogging early morning. The prayer prepares my body for the rest of the day.

Any interracial marriage between chinese and malay here?

I would like to ask to know more. How do you guys did your wedding ceremony? Especially for Chinese there's tea ceremony which requires to pray to ancestors. What will Muslim do for that? afaik, Muslim can only pray to their only god which is Allah.

And any adjustment to life in term of cultures, bla bla bla.

Feel free to enlighten me.

Muslims Can do tea ceremony, to engage and know each other, but cannot pray to ancestors.

Maybe the non Muslim Chinese can pray by themselves la in Their own ceremony, but it's not going to be done by Muslims at that wedding ceremony.

Sorry Im not the one with interracial marriage. Just responding on the nearest possible scenario of what Muslim with interracial marriage will so.

May Allah protect the people in NZ, both Muslims and Non-Muslims. And may Allah bless and forgive the souls of the dead among our brothers and sisters, and admit them to Jannah. May Allah curse and foils the evil designs of Iblees and his followers everywhere.

Daripada Yahya bin Ayyub, Qutaibah dan Ibnu Hujr, kesemuanya daripada Ismail bin Ja'far,
daripada Ibnu Ayyub, daripada Ismail, daripada al-Ala', daripada bapanya, daripada Abu Hurairah,
Rasulullah s.a.w. bersabda,

"Jauhilah kalian
daripada La'anaini."

Para sahabat bertanya,
"Wahai Rasulullah,
siapa La'anini itu?"

Rasulullah s.a.w. menjawab,
"Orang yang buang air
di jalan (yang dilalui) manusia

atau di tempat berteduhnya mereka."

Aside from the physical, mental health advantage, I'd like to put it this way. In Malaysia we have a king or agong, and we as a malaysian has sworn allegiance to him. But have we done anything lately to prove that, did we actually think of him for the past few days, hell did we even know who is the current agong is lol..

Point is we human eventually forgets.. We may have declared allegiance to something one day.. If we did nothing to uphold that, we'll forget and the allegiance became meaningless..

So praying 5 times a day is not actually for Allah because Allah almighty knows your heart content, but it's for you.. It serve not only as evidence you are a Muslim, but also as a reminder that you are Muslim everyday.. My two cents

Orang-orang yang munafik itu takut
akan diturunkan terhadap mereka
sesuatu surah
yang menerangkan apa yang tersembunyi
dalam hati mereka.

Katakanlah kepada mereka,
"Teruskanlah ejekan-ejekanmu
(terhadap Allah dan rasul-Nya)."

Sesungguhnya Allah akan menyatakan
apa yang kamu takuti itu.

(Surah At-Taubah 9:64)

Dan jika kamu tanyakan kepada mereka
(tentang apa yang mereka lakukan itu),

tentulah mereka akan menjawab,
"Sesungguhnya kami hanyalah
bergurau senda
dan bermain-main sahaja."

Katakanlah,
"Apakah dengan Allah,
ayat-ayat-Nya
dan Rasul-Nya
kamu selalu berolok-olok?"

(Surah At-Taubah 9:65)

perhaps would also be beneficial in you finding the correct answer for your boss.
for me i do solah , apart from its obligatory reasoning

because it reminds me of death , because what ever currently youre doing in this world is not as important
as the hereafter - so solah kept my mind calm and sane even through all calamity or business that happens around me
it reminds me that god has created every single atom that i see hear or touch
it reminds me that i am part of a special group of people with lineage since adam
that has been bestowed the knowledge to do solah and performing it which some sort makes me feel confidence
that somehow the world by Allah wills would be kind and generous to me

and for me the reason that its being doned in a specific time because of human frailty which is our forgetfullness
that we forget the creator or there is a creator easily when were busy with our worldy business.
so the need for 5 times daily prayers is supposed to serve as a training and a reminder for you and
your mind to always be dutifull and obedience to gods command.

that is why in prayers youre suppose to recite al fatihah ( a prayers for guidance and saving from misguidance)
and a short surah which would serve as a reminder to the lesson of the quran ( that is the true purpose)
and also serves to humble you constantly towards god and towards other human beings as you and them are no
greater than the creator.

Interracial marriage no issue as long as the man is born muslim. the woman must enter Islam. If non muslim man want to marry a muslim woman, a bit discouraged because in Islam the man is leader and teacher to woman. But I have neighbor who is chinese man and married muslim woman. Muslim.woman is lenient so they are good together. He sometimes drink alcohol. Just do it privately nobody can disturb your privacy.

I live in a non-Muslim country

One time during friday prayer, I met a brother who told me his lecturer didnt allow people to leave class for friday prayer. So he would pray once every 3 Fridays, coz he didnt want to reach the 3 Friday mark.

I said to him, just leave class, ignore your lecturer.

He says he can't, the lecturer argues that a bunch of middle-eastern students dont leave class.

Subhanallah, the middle-easterners are not our reference for religion. I dont know if there's something in their madhabs that give leeway for people to skip Friday prayers in foreign land for extended period of time.

Then he says, he went to his lecturer's office once, the room was filled will cross and other religious stuff (His lecturer is a Russian orthodox Christian). So his lecturer is as religious as he is.

But lets consider his situation. What if he skips class every friday. Will he be barred from exam ? He would have to retake his course the following semester or probably the following year. If it happens to many other subjects, he might end up getting deregistered from his course. Then what ? Try to bring the case to court to fight for religious freedom?

Should he hold the burning coal ? Would you ?

Brothers going to foreign land needs to consider long and hard the possible implications to his deen. And he has to have steely eeman and taqwa. You dont compromise on matters like the five daily prayers, fasting, zakaat, halal earnings and food etc etc.
