Inter vs Genoa. Match ends 3-1.
Superb first half but unconvincing second half. Can't really blame the team though as Genoa switched to full fledged attack during the second half and the team couldn't really keep up with their tempo. But still, a very spectacular win with Palacio getting his 2nd of the season, Icardi once again and Vidic his first goal in Inter colours!

A lot of positives we can take from this match. We are finally having a proper identity and no more useless Mazzarri crossing but a whole possesive conserving short passes. Finally, Guarin did spectacular thanks to lesser responsibilities playing with Poldi (really deserved a goal for all that passionate running). Finally the defense was doing good and evidently with the absence of Rano. Vidic really still has it and playing in a 4 man defense is his best. Medel as always safeguarded the defense. Too bad we have to wait for Shaqiri's debut next week .

Guarin is my MOTM for winning us plentiful possesion and just doing what the coach expects. Up close is Poldi and this is followed by Vidic.

Keep going like this and we are sure closer to 3rd place. Still, there is room to improve especially in the second half.

the first half was a joy to watch, but in the second half, we looked indeed unconvincing like you pointed out. what's with us always having one good half and one bad half ? this has been going on for quiet some time now and it seems like even mancini hasn't been able to fix that yet. do something about it ffs, please.

guarin was amazing in the first half. there was one run he made, skipping past his marker with sheer athleticism. should have just blasted it there. a shame he decided to be unselfish when he should have chosen to be selfish. but yeah, a superb performance.

vidic, yes a commanding display by him. that's what we expect from a world-class centre back like vidic. he struggled with that ridiculous three-man defence (of course, everybody would with that thrice-damned stupid tactic), but in a formation with a back four he's just class. poldi was great in the first half, but almost invisible in the second. a shame we couldn't see shaqiri making his debut.

what, where are you going mate? come on, school is only back in session. bugger your academic books. it's too damn early to be squinting at them.

It's just for this year I'll have to put full focus on my education but don't worry, I'll still follow the team closely. Just not going to wake up and watch match or update here that often. Hope more Interisti discover this thread to keep you entertain dude .

Hmm... I saw Osvaldo on the stands though. And he seemed kinda ok when Icardi scored. I hope there is room for them to mend what has set them apart.

sometimes football can be funny. such a difficult game to comprehend. not so long ago, we put an impressive display against juventus (undeniably the best team in the league) at their home ground. i would say we were on par with them in that game tbh. nah, we could have won the game really.

but last night, playing against f***ing empoli of all teams, we were totally outclassed in every department. at some point of the game, i couldn't help but wonder if we were actually playing against 11 players? it seemed like they were playing with 843683462067 players (okay, that's an exaggeration but you know what i mean). they were simply all over us. they were all over the place that we couldn't even keep the ball for 3 secs ffs. their energy, their pressing, their game plan. oh they were so damn good that every one of their players looked like ronaldo and messi and yaya toure and pirlo and hummels and thiago silva combined.

we were lucky to get away with a point. if not for handa's heroics (as always), we would have been spanked so hard in the arse. credit to both our centre backs as well. rano and vidic were solid.

did mancini f*** it up? well, take a look at the line-up that started last night's game.

i don't know. maybe pairing guarin and medel together as defensive midfielders was a terrible idea. maybe not starting kovacic was one as well. and palacio... well, he's clearly past it. bad touches, bad decisions. there were two good goal scoring chances involving him. first, he stupidly decided to head the ball when it was clearly easy to just control the ball and shoot it with his foot. second, he decided to pass when he could have just taken a shot. shaqiri did make his debut and did okay. there was nothing he could do when all his team mates were playing like they didn't care (expect handa, vidic, and rano).

in conclusion, definitely a game to forget.

Inter vs Sampdoria (Coppa Italia) : Match ends 2-0

Wow! How weird this team is? From struggling against low level Empoli to beating a high flying Sampdoria .

I blame it on the Mazzarri syndrome of underestimating small teams. It still hasn't wiped off the squad just yet.

Though Icardi missed a penalty, he got on the score sheet and from what I read, we were kind of decent. Let's hope we can throw away inconsistencies, maybe?

Congratulations to Shaqiri for grabbing his first goal in Nerazzurri colours!

weird, yeah. sometimes i think we can beat chelsea then lose to cesena in the following match.

i didn't watch the game so i have no idea of how we performed though. but the first goal, that combination between poldi and shaq was sublime.

and icardi just couldn't stop scoring too. good, bene bene.

oh yes, regarding f***ing empoli, heard they recently made life very difficult for roma as well. so, now i feel like i can forgive our woeful display against them.

Hehe me too then . Waiting to see Rubentus stun to them but unfortunately we would have to wait as Rube actually won 2-0 against them during the first half of the season's fixture .

We will meet Napoli in the semis and I kinda feel we could eliminate them .

Next up in the league is against a very defending Torino and this would be a tough one for the squad.

We are very close to Marcelo Brozovic, a Croatian talent that hails from the same club as Mateo according to mercato sources in Italy.

Kind of a surprise transfer like it was when Kovacic signed for us as it just happened so randomly without strong rumours. I'm a little sceptical for this transfer but I expect him to be decent enough considering top clubs are following him like Chelsea and Arsenal.

In other words, I might be able to free up myself to catch the match against Torino tomorrow as it's at 10 pm Malaysia time.

i have no idea who this brozovic dude is. i just watched some youtube videos though. i know that every player seems as good as messi on youtube, but i like it that he's ambidextrous. pretty good at shooting with either foot this lad.

i believe we were strongly linked with another balkan sounding player before. his name is susic or something like that. not sure if he's joining us as well.

Well, since the coach wants him, we'll trust him with his desired player. Probably Mancini sees some potential in him. He can be a DM for us and from what I've read, he is very versatile !
