i think one mistake that inter made after winning the tripleta in 2010 was the failure to build the momentum and take advantage of the post-effects of such a triumph.

i mean, your team just won everything. the fanbase grew larger. the club's reputation got bigger. if i was moratti, i would spend like crazy for the next season. get bigger names to play for the team and build another formidable squad for the future.

but he didn't. he was complacent. benitez was not given the chance to get the players that he asked for. and worse, the players were complacent. but who could blame them? you just won everything the season before, so the motivation was understandably low.

and inter have only seen one direction since then, down. the team has been going downhill since the treble. yes i've heard stories of mighty giants falling, but not in such a rapid fashion.

maybe what was going through my head before the kick-off of the CL final 2010 just came true. i said to myself "if we win this one, i don't mind inter becoming a shit team for decades". and here we are now, a shit team.

the result is okay, but it was horrible performance wise. bored the fark out of me and i just felt like sleeping the whole match. quite surprised how did i manage to stay on until the end.

nothing could be done about the first 2 goals as sometimes screamers go in. but what frustrated me was the fact that we didn't seem like we cared to react after that. instead it was headless chicken football all the way since that moment. typical inter that we have seen so often since gasperini took over in 2011/2012 (yeah we still played decent football under benitez and leonardo, i would take any of them over mazzarri in a heartbeat atm. heck, bring back hector cuper now and i'd still be okay with that )

a draw against napoli at the meazza. not a bad result. like inter, napoli is not doing so well domestically as well but they are of course still a good team. so, i'm okay with it.

unconvincing display against cesena. but 3 points in the bag nonetheless. so i have no complaint. we have downgraded to a relegation team of late, so a win against another relegation team is always fine.

facepalms all around. mazzarri was facepalming a lot last night i noticed. not sure if it's him, the formation, or the players is the real problem, or maybe all of those. we were pathetic. no threatening attacking move whatsoever, so predictable as ever, it's too easy to defend against us. our only tactic is passing the ball around among ourselves before finally passing it to one of the wingbacks and whipping in those hopeless crosses.

and i've never really liked obi. he's perhaps the most boring and bland of our players. i don't even know what he is good at. and palacio is getting that milito syndrome. his touches were awful last nite. we can't score from open play ffs. we badly miss khal drogo. damn, when will he be fit to play again?

mancini is reported to raid the EPL this january transfer window. among the names mentioned are kolarov, lamela, borini, and joel campbell.
