I think it's good to give Lambert chance to start and prove his worth. or Maybe BR was hoping link up between Lallana and Lambert to provide the goal. Anyhow BR criticized Balo recently. Hopefully benching him will brings out more hunger to score and do well.
Some of us were suggesting to play Gerrard in more advanced position, I guess u got your wish. When Lucas came in I noticed him and Hendo as two DM with Gerrard further up. And the way he linked up with Balo is just smooth much better than Cout. He may not have the pace anymore but his mind is still quick. It just pity that we never had a proper DM replacement after we lost Alonso or Mascherano. When Gerrard had a few good games in that position last season we made to think that he can do the job. For me he never look comfortable. He is not mobile enough and the age is catching up. And this season when opponents started to close him down more he got less effect on the game. He needs to be where he is most effective. So I think against team with inferior DM we can play Gerarrd in AM role.

I was at Anfield for the West Bromwich game.  Just as I walked out to the loo, Liverpool scored their first goal. Bloody good luck for my first time being in Anfield. Aside that, we didn't play very well but 3 points is important. Best player Lallana. The ball was always going upwards when it was with him. I don't know if many noticed but when we had Suarez, it was the same, if the ball was in the final 3rd it will stay there. Attack and press the opposition in their own half. Our defense is a worry. Nope. Just watch his AC Milan games. He is neither mobile nor is he a penalty box striker. Most of his goals during that time came from long range shots or set pieces. It's definitely his tendency not manager instructions and he has to change that bad habit of shooting too much from range.
