Frankly for me, 30-45 minutes for workout is a real tight time line unless i rest only a minute or 30 seconds cause I do lots of different workout at a go.

Now days hard... usually end up 1:30 hours because rest too long in between tongue.gif

Judging based on how much time someone spend on their workout is a very inaccurate to gauge how well their exercise is. There's just too many factors like how pack the place is, so the wait time to jump on the equipment will vary. Also, the recuperation rate for each person's body between sets is very different that would skew the total time as well.

A better way would be to list down the exercises you do, i.e. number of sets, reps, cardio type and duration, etc. Even then you'd probably have to factor in the skill level of the person, i.e. an beginner will naturally take a different amount of time to hit the cardio rate of an intermediate.

I used to believe as you did, but not anymore. While you can make awesome progress with 45mins to 1 hour, some programs require longer periods. I know DoggCrapp and HIT style take around 45 mins per session but not programs like HVT, 5 x 5, HST or ICE.

Like now i'm on the Madcow's 5 x 5 Single factor. Day 1 requires 1.5 hours. And triple rep PR days on Day 3 require almost 2 hours.

The thing is, if you guys know you're workout period might exceed an hour or more, add in extra fat or carbs to your pre workout shake or meal.
