“Were there any that didn’t get cut? I’m asking you, were there any that didn’t get cut?” Leto asked IGN sarcastically. “There were so many scenes that got cut from the movie, I couldn’t even start,” he said. “There was so much that we shot that’s not in the film.”

QUOTE
“We shot so much footage. There are so many scenes that are not in the film,” Leto repeated to NME. “I haven’t seen the movie yet, so I didn’t know exactly what’s been cut out, but I do understand it’s an introduction to the Joker now. It’s a bit more of a supporting part than maybe it could have been if they used everything.”

Watch out, WB. The Joker isnt happy.

Some of the things that I got

QUOTE
“I think that I brought so much to the table in every scene that it was probably more about filtering all of the insanity, because I wanted to give a lot of options, and I think there’s probably enough footage in this film for a Joker movie.”

“If I were to die tomorrow maybe the studio would roll something out.”

“I always wished this film was rated R, and I had actually said that when we were starting. It felt like if a film was ever going to be rated R it should be the one about the villains.”

From what I caught on why Robbie thinks so much of The Joker and Harley Quinn’s backstory was cut from the movie

QUOTE
“We filmed so much of our backstory.”

“I think what they realized was that the emotional through-line of the story had to be the mission that we were on, and explaining the Enchantress’s position. The backstory stuff — though it’s like magic — and some of the stuff we shot was insane, they are flashbacks and they’re meant to be snippets.”

rt score might be a bit harsh but this movie aren't that good either. did i enjoy the movie, not exactly. after hearing so much bad review, i already went with low expectation yet the movie didn't impress me.

1) deadshot and harley quinn both are good, plus point..
2) joker was edited into non-important character that bring no difference to the main plot. and his scene seem so random and messy. even one-sec flash character actually contribute something.
3) why waller didnt crush the heart, the witch is trying to end the world and she still try to make use of the witch? and its funny the assembled suicide squad was send to save waller and not defeating the witch. so who gonna defeat the witch?
4) the ending is a joke. if a bomb can kill the witch brother (dont know his name, not even bother to find out) and another bomb can destroy the so called weapon so easily, i dont see why US cant send few jets in and bomb the entire building or area.

5.5/10 from me.

agree on 3rd point...i though the main squad mission is to beat enchantress...its turn out to rescue waller.....so they didnt want to beat enchantress in 1st place...another plot hole...

for joker scene yeah it was short.....jared leto even stated that lot joker scene was cut in theatrical cut....maybe if wb decided to release extended cut dvd we can see more...

1) deadshot and harley quinn both are good, plus point.. = Maybe because its Will Smith and Margot Robbie.
2) joker was edited into non-important character that bring no difference to the main plot. and his scene seem so random and messy. even one-sec flash character actually contribute something. = blame the WB executives who interrupted the production of the movie.
3) why waller didnt crush the heart, the witch is trying to end the world and she still try to make use of the witch? and its funny the assembled suicide squad was send to save waller and not defeating the witch. so who gonna defeat the witch? = Coz SS was created by Waller. Hence Waller prioritize SS to save her first, since she's the one controlling SS's life and dead.I would rather save my life than save the world if choose between the world or my life. World can be save later, but I need to getta outa there first.

4) the ending is a joke. if a bomb can kill the witch brother (dont know his name, not even bother to find out) and another bomb can destroy the so called weapon so easily, i dont see why US cant send few jets in and bomb the entire building or area. = Coz Waller still in there. Sure the military can ignore her life and destroy the city but try remember when the witch hack into Waller's head. There's too many military secrets she has in her head which shows that how important she is in Pentagon.

I love Man of Steel and BvS but this movie is pure bullshit crap. Should have been a R-Movie or at least try to be Nolan's near R Dark Knight PG-13 movie.

This movie sucks so bad. Hated the Joker, so out of character.....(too obsess with Harley, He's obsess with Batman)

Compared to Heath Ledger's Joker, this guy isnt a threat not the tension of his presence is there, he's a failed Clown. Worst Joker for me, if you do not even try to outrank, outperform Heath ledger, dun even bother cast Joker.

One of the Suicide Squad got killed early in the movie that no one gives a crap about him.

This are Heavy Hitters Criminals, like S Rank Criminals yet they act like some Victims with petty Rank B criminal record.

We arent suppose to care about this Criminals as they have no sense of morality or patriotism or heroism. Yet we see those in there.

The Villain is Enchantrass? a 6000+year old witch get pawned so easlily by not so Superpower Human.

Its a Suicide Squad Movie, this movie its nothing like the real Suicide Squad in reality.

Yes Deadshot is cool but he kills for money? zzz

If the movie is good because of Deadshot or Harley, that sucks. Just prove its a Will Smith + Margot Robbie acting performances movie.

None of the Criminals even bother to at least try to Kill each other or take each other out, Harley Bloodlust not even in.

Suicide Squad: 17 things we learnt from David Ayer

1. The original script started in Belle Reve

"The very first script started in Belle Reve and told the backstories of everybody in these sort of flashback montages. The original conception is that there would be these memory bursts as they sat in their cells recalling their previous lives and also get the audience up to speed about who they are and how they ended up there. The first impulse was always to do a montage in the first act, but you chase different things."

2. It’s an ‘anarchic punk rock art movie’

"The film is really the journey of the soul. I know this is going to provoke incredible howls of outrage, but it’s really this anarchic punk rock art movie. June Moone goes into this cave where she becomes possessed by this alter-ego that’s hypersexual and primitive and destructive and vengeful. Everybody who has to take her down experiences their own sort of ‘dark night of the soul’ as Enchantress offers up this fantasy reality where she can provide them with a false nirvana, false happiness. The film, in a lot of ways, is really about the splitting of the personality and addiction, and the dark side of the soul."

3. It was the bat way or no way

"When I signed on, I explicitly asked for Batman. Everything’s always done in his viewpoint, in this case we see Batman through the eyes of the baddies that he arrests, so I thought it was important to show how he takes them down."

4. There’s no R-rated cut

"You could easily make this R-rated by having two F-bombs or someone smoke a cigarette. But that’s not what I think people mean when they ask for an R-rated version, so it was always meant to be a PG-13. It’s a decision you make before you turn the cameras on."

5. Scott Eastwood isn’t playing Dick Grayson. Or Roy Harper. Sorry

"He's Flag's right-hand man, GQ, a fairly straightforward military character."

6. Only two Skwad members were ever going to snuff it

"There was never a third. It’s pretty standard in the structure of all the Suicide Squad stories that somebody rebels against the system and gets executed by Amanda [Waller] or Flag, so it was important to show the consequences. You’re always wrestling with something like this, you know, 'Why would the bad guys play along?'."

7. Boomerang’s pink plush unicorn, ‘Pinky’, was a late addition

"[Pinky] was actually intended to be a piece of set decoration in one of our office building sets. I thought [Boomerang] needed a little something kind of fun and silly and it kept appearing throughout the film. It became a bit of a mascot. Yes, [he’s a] Brony. Which is fine. I think it’s a good thing and gives him a little hobby besides robbing banks."

8. The Joker owes his ‘damaged’ tattoo to the Boy Wonder

"This is sort of my personal thing and maybe less about a larger connection. But Joker killed Robin and Batman basically smashes his teeth out and locks him up in Arkham Asylum. It’s in the asylum where Joker would have done the ‘damaged’ tattoo as a message to Batman saying, 'You’ve damaged me. I was so beautiful before and now you’ve destroyed my face.' That’s where the grill comes from."

9. The version you see in cinemas is the ‘dossier’ version

"There’s a linear version we did where it opens up with June in the cave and tells the story in sequence with the arrests and Batman, and then we go to Belle Reve. Honestly, there may be six or seven different versions of the film. In that version, [test] audiences were left with a lot of questions and a little disoriented as to who to watch and why. So we came up with what we call the ‘dossier’ version which has Amanda presenting the backstories and origins of the various members."

10. Amanda Waller gets what Amanda Waller wants

"She’s an intelligence officer, and if you start running down the logic trails of things and you have this Batman figure acting as a vigilante – and at this point he’s been doing it for maybe 20 years – the intelligence services would absolutely figure out who this guy is and where he comes from. You’d put a friggin’ drone over Gotham City and just track the guy, it’s only logical. Amanda Waller would somehow get this information. There’s something fascinating in how she could wrangle these monsters. She has to be an apex predator in order to control them."

11. Ayer has no regrets over Slipknot’s early demise

"You have to pick and choose your battles, and Slipknot gets his head blown off pretty quickly. I made a commitment early on not to try and create some kind of misdirect, because when you have that many characters, every frame of real estate is priceless. I didn’t want to invest in that real estate to create some misdirect, because after opening night everyone knows he dies anyway."

12. Pink Floyd inspired a scene involving The Joker

"Yes, there’s some onesies (you can just see a baby onesie in the top right of the above picture). Some roses, some onesies, some piano keys, cell phones, laptops, obviously a lot of knives and weapons, a lot of empty bottles and some tied-off bags of god knows what. It was inspired a little bit from Pink Floyd, the movie when Pete goes insane in the hotel room."

13. Ayer didn’t feel constrained by the DC Cinematic Universe at large

"Initially there was a lot of discussion about how to connect to the Justice League movie. Obviously in continuity this is post-Batman V Superman, but Wonder Woman is an earlier timeline than this so I was kind of free and clear of any friendly fire. But Flash and Aquaman are sort of in present day timelines, so we just had to steer clear of all that. My best analogy is: this is a fleet of ships crossing the ocean, but you get to be captain of your own vessel."

14. Don’t call Jared Leto’s performance a cameo

"I think there was an expectation of what the film should have been. People really wanted more Joker and wanted him to be an A-plot component. And it’s funny how the critics call it a cameo but he has some fantastic sequences that are really important for the film. He really influences the journey quite a bit."

15. There’s a reason The Flash captured Captain Boomerang

"Boomerang is a Flash character, a Flash villain, traditionally. So it only made sense that it would be The Flash that captured him, so we dropped Ezra [Miller] in for his brief cameo. There’s a history of rivalry between them."

16. Amanda Waller is the mission

"The movie is basically Amanda Waller covering up her mistake, because she was the one that decided to use Enchantress as part of the original core Suicide Squad. Waller deploys her to clean up this entity that appears, which unbeknownst to Amanda is actually Enchantress’s brother. So Enchantress engineers her escape from Amanda Waller and then Waller decides to cover it up by having the Suicide Squad rescue her and get her out of that city. It’s funny because the plot gets deemed as being incredibly simple, but it’s actually extremely complex!"

17. So just what is on Griggs’ (Ike Barinholtz) internet history?

"I think it’s better left unsaid! I think he does a lot of eBay shopping."

I have seen bad comments from the movie critics, so I give a try watching this movie without giving high hope.

I gave 7/10.

I enjoyed actually watching this movie. I think it's better than the Batman vs Superman movie.

The character in this movie that I truly like is Harleyy Quin. That crazy girl. She nailed it. laugh.gif
Her character in this movie really suit well IMO.

Will Smith, however, I don't feel the connection when I watch this movie. For me, he just MEHHH in this movie.

That Joker guy, I think something is missing in his character. I do feel like that Jared Leto need to perform more in this movie.

This is based on my opinion as a guy that didn't read any comic from DC. smile.gif

If you go in intended to watch a very enjoyable movie with songs, jokes and typical Will Smith movie, yes it is for you.

But This movie is suppose to be the world's deadliest criminals being formed to fight a Greater Threat the world has seen.

Just the Villains alone, it disappoint so badly that it actually makes Batman v Superman good.

Batman vs Superman Isnt that 'Fun' coz its more dramatic and dark. Suicide Squad should be 'Dark' while Batman v Superman should be more 'enjoyable positive' instead.

The Flashbacks, Joker's role, this movie is more fck up then Batman v Superman in terms of the editing.

Warner studio had it coming

http://www.aggressivecomix.com/open-letter...ives-hits-hard/

QUOTE
Warner Bros is the flag ship to DC Comics and the DC Cinematic Universe as many of you know. The field has been split in terms of people’s reactions and feelings on EVERY DC property that has been released since Man of Steel.

With the past films coming out and getting the love hate they have been getting it is no surpise that some are getting truly upset. The following is an open letter to Warner Brothers Exec. from a former employee hoping that Warner Bros. will one day return to the great company it once was.

An Open Letter To Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara About Layoffs, Zack Snyder, and Donuts

When I left my screening of Suicide Squad last week, I was angry. I was annoyed and let down and frustrated as well, but mostly I was just angry.

Look, I’m a big dork. So of course I thought this trainwreck of a movie did a major disservice to the characters, concept, cast, and crew, but that wasn’t why I was mad. Yes, it is unfathomable to me that Warner Bros could mess up a movie starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and The Joker so completely. But that just had me flummoxed.

I was angry because I couldn’t stop thinking about you, Kevin Tsujihara.

A lot of fans might be angry (and rightfully so) because you keep completely whiffing at properties that they are desperate to love and enjoy, but this is a little more personal for me. See, I am a former Warner Bros employee. I have so much respect for your studio. I love every square inch of that magical backlot, from Stars Hollow to the fitness center I always meant to use. The people I worked with during my time with your company are now close friends. On my last day, I hugged them and I told them I loved them.

I was also there in 2014, when you made the decision to lay off 10 percent of your workforce. It was a terrible year. Let me catch you up: Every morning I woke up with a pit in my stomach, because I assumed that would be the day I lost my job. Every day I saw someone packing up their desk, or carrying a box to their car. I can not describe to you the relief I felt when my department was told we were safe, or the guilt I felt afterwards walking through the halls of my office with that relief.

But out of all that, the thing that really sticks with me is the memo you sent to all of us. Let me refresh you on my favorite part:
I wanted you to hear directly from me about our plans for the studio. In recent days, we have started to hear rumors here at the company and to read misinformation in the press, so I’d like to set the record straight. I know that the hard work and dedication of every employee around the world is the key to Warner Bros.’ success, and I am sorry for the distraction this situation brings to the workplace.

At Warner Bros., we work with the world’s most extraordinary storytellers, and our focus has always been to provide the creative environment and financial resources they need to realize their vision. Our commitment to that won’t change. In fact, we’re investing more than ever in our film and television productions.

This is how you opened a memo about layoffs. “Hey guys, we work hard for the people telling stories here and we want to make sure those visions are realized.” The balls on you.

That year we pursued the storytelling vision of Adam Sandler’s Blended and Clint Eastwood’s Jersey Boys. Failures.
We pursued a potentially great summer movie like Edge of Tomorrow and completely botched its release. Same with Man From UNCLE. We dug in our heels and hoped The Hobbit Trilogy would somehow stop being a mediocre case of diminishing returns. Talented, loyal people packed their boxes and went home while your story tellers dropped the ball.
One could argue that this was not your fault. That you inherited former CEO Barry Meyer’s agenda and were merely trying to correct the course of an ocean liner heading for an iceberg.

I would not make this argument. And here’s why: I wrote this letter last year. I actually started forming it in my head after Man of Steel was a box office failure instead of the modern classic tentpole you were expecting.

I kept holding off on doing anything with it because of one title: Suicide Squad. Zack Snyder’s Dawn of Justice was a fiasco, but here comes this plucky little dark adventure about antiheroes. I love David Ayer. I love Harley Quinn. I love Will Smith. Put the letter in a drawer. The ship isn’t sinking anymore. Everything is fine. There’s no way this movie is bad.

And here we are. I got back from my screening and dusted this sucker off. You, your executive team, and the vision of your ‘extraordinary storytellers’ that resulted in the loss of around one thousand jobs seem intent on crashing the ship into as much shit as you can find in the ocean by making inane decisions over and over again.

Zack Snyder is not delivering. Is he being punished? Assistants who were doing fantastic work certainly were. People in finance and in marketing and in IT. They had no say in a movie calledBatman V Superman only having 8 minutes of Batman fighting Superman in it, that ends because their moms have the same name. Snyder is a producer on every DC movie. He is still directing Justice League. He is being rewarded with more opportunity to get more people laid off. I’m assuming you yourself haven’t been financially affected in any real way. You and your studio are the biggest lesson about life one can learn: The top screws up and the bottom suffers. Peter Jackson phones it in and a marketing supervisor has to figure out a plan B for house payments.

Your uneven Hall H presentation at Comic Con this year was a ridiculous mess that ranged from rushed to boring. When Marvel announced their full slate of films with a fun fan event several years ago, you announced yours on a shareholder conference call.

You just don’t get it. And it’s not just DC movies, it’s your whole slate. Jupiter Ascending. Get Hard. Hot Pursuit. Max. Vacation. Pan. Point Break. Fucking PAN, you jerk. People lost their jobs and you decided Pan was a good idea. You think another Jungle Book is a good idea.

What are you even doing? I wish to God you were forced to live out of a car until you made a #1 movie of the year. Maybe Wonder Woman wouldn’t be such a mess. Don’t try to hide behind the great trailer. People inside are already confirming it’s another mess. It is almost impressive how you keep rewarding the same producers and executives for making the same mistakes, over and over.

If I worked at a donut stand, and I kept fucking up donuts, I’d be fired. Even if I made a tiny decent one every now and then, it doesn’t matter. I’m gonna get fired.

I love that studio, and you’re allowing it to sink. It’s not about making movies for ‘the fans’ and not ‘the critics.’ It’s not even about ‘ruining childhoods.’ It’s about protecting livelihoods.

It’s time to wake up and make the fucking donuts, Kevin.
