AMD is proud to welcome Grand Theft Auto V from Rockstar Games as the newest addition to the Gaming Evolved family to feature AMD’s Contact Hardening Shadows (CHS). This technique dynamically hardens or softens a shadow’s edges depending on the distance of the shadow from the light source and object casting that shadow.

This means softer shadows that diffuse more realistically. To enable CHS in the game, simply select AMD CHS from the ’Soft Shadows’ drop down menu. The game also has a built-in benchmark, which should make it easy to test different hardware configurations.

And there you have it, our R9 cards are plenty capable of handling GTA V!

Yes yes, GTA V is hot topic now.

The card have Dual BIOS, i have zero problem on the 1st BIOS with 1.125v default voltage. The 2nd BIOS/Boost BIOS is the want i'm having trouble with, it come with a voltage lock@1.25v. I don't want to waste my time RMA-ing it for something that is easily fixable.

No problem with the memory chip. There's different kind of artifacts and the one i'm getting was caused by core voltage.

Do take it up to the brand for the said problem.

We can't advise on you on this matter as we are not involved in how the manufacturer designs or makes the card.

It would be interesting to see SPEC numbers from AMD's next gen and maybe an architecture brief. During the pre Core-uarch days AMD generally ruled the roost with a stubbier pipeline and a ruthlessly efficient cache, but Intel caught up after the shitfest that was Prescott. It'll be nice to see what AMD has planned for next gen.

Trying hard to make a come back! biggrin.gif We'll see how it goes.

Getting your system ready for Oculus Rift? The R9 series graphics card sure fits the bill.

With Jim Keller back at AMD, this is achievable.

This guy is a CPU architecture guru & is this guy is previously involved in designing the Apple iphone SoC.

Haha, that's beyond us but we do appreciate your feedback. Will send it to HQ.

"Top-end AMD "Fiji" to Get Fancy SKU Name"

I'm sure many of you have read the above. biggrin.gif

What do you think the name should be?

Maybe we can go with fruit names but meh, that wouldn't be fierce. Perhaps various forms of spicy vegetables. biggrin.gif
