I don't really understand. If he was going to replace it with the other side and use acrylic on that side. What is the difference between using acrylic on the damaged side and leaving the other side intact |

Updatesssssssssssssss............
Now u can c y I've used the unmolested metal panel from the other side. So I can make an all new properly cut n modded X Window panel. The other side is just flat so I just use thin section acrylic to make it fit like it was meant to be. Y din I use the all acrylic panel on the window side? It's very very thin acrylic I used, to make it fit perfectly n not bulge out from the sides of the casing. It has no structural strength at all. It's purpose is just to cover the side. Also If u wanna play with ure hardware it's gonna b really bothersome removing the 4 alloy bolts everytime. Anyway, here's the pics. Look at that loooooooooooooooooooovely mirror effect black side panel now! ![]() View from higher angle. Look at the section where it meets the top panel. No gaps at all n it doesn't bulge out. Fits like a glove. All the edges, top, left, right, bottom, all fit perfectly without gaps or bulges. ![]() View from the front. ![]() Sum pix of the X window which I forgot to take last night. These close ups show how the panel shud look like after all the cutting n modding. I haf zero tolerance for dents, dings, bulges n all that. I get high blood pressure when I c dents n dings on the panels. ![]() ![]() That's it for now. I'm doing the hardware install right now. The whole complete rig shud be done by midnight n updates will up then. This post has been edited by ianho: Sep 21 2006, 08:26 PM |

If only I was given the budget to go ahead with a full mirror shine paint job. Unfortunately I wasn't asked to paint the whole case.
