Compare to other UT... You will know the picture why I choose asg. People may say fsm better true with the low sc.. But I bought asg during 2% sc too hehe.
*

Remember that asnb fund DO NOT have capital guarantee including those fixed price funds.

That is the risk we have to take with UT funds. High return with high risk. Diff from FD. Have not bought UT for a while. Looking for consistent returns not those with yo yo loss/returns. smile.gif

In RHB Bank today to buy ASG Kesihatan & Pendidikan. The manager showed me his tracking of the ASG prices. Looks like the recent prices have been relatively low compared to months ago. Today slight rebound for the ASG prices.

The CIMB staff didn't show me the price tracking pun.. just show the diveden history..

This depends on the mgr. He tracked it on a sheet of paper, hand written the daily prices. Guess quite unique, customer service ! rclxms.gif

Ha ha, this fellow, young and looks sincere. So far I have no fixed price units. Will be good if new ones are introduced. But with the merger coming, not sure what is going to happen to the 3 banks. biggrin.gif

If the staff willing to help & there's some unit available, u can open new account fixed price fund.. The problem face by all of us is the staff won't even look at u when u ask to open new account. even at the CS counter (taking Q number), the staff already stopped u from going to banking counter  nod.gif

I tried at least 6 times during the recent ASW and AS1M dividend harvest days. No success with their infamous reply - Not possible.

But I will keep on trying till the day comes! Ha.

On paper, it's impossible as there is no New units
Having said tat, u can go against all Odds to try as u could b the Lucky investor

I tried with RHB where I bought reasonable amt of ASG funds from. The manager said sorry, cannot. Maybank gave me same answer, new account cannot be opened for fixed price fund.

So up to now, just bought ASG funds. smile.gif

depend on your entry price & current price (when u want to sell).

example is entry price 1.05 & current price 1.20, means u profit

if entry price 1.18 & current price 1.13 means u loss

partly correct. you forget the dividend pay.
if dividend yearly ~6%, and he accumulate for at least 5 years, he already gain.
*
Yes, I was thinking the same as Ancient-XinG. Depends on how much dividend was given over the years and the price difference between entry and exit price. smile.gif

Cost averaging concept is a good way to go. But have to do it slowly. Hard to time the market. biggrin.gif

My 2 cents ...

Cost averaging will only work if the future price is higher than the current price, not a sure win strategy.  icon_idea.gif

Personally, I prefer to stay away from this often mis-used concept. Some good reading material on the web on this CA.

Cheerio.

lol I think there is no sure win concept in investment..

DCA works ok for last year. Now suddenly market drop like duno what.

any here remember how long this thing last in 98 and 08? haven't 18 yet ad got symptoms ad doh.gif
*
Like Ancient-XinG- said, no sure win strategy. Have to be dynamic and pick one strategy and may have to change the strategy when the market situation changes. smile.gif

Just airing my frustrations over this marketing tool used by UT agents.

I was already anti CA when I first saw it many years ago. Illustrations they use paint a rosy picture. But they use the data they need to paint the rosy picture.

Read some books by foreign authors who caution on blindly following the CA strategy. If I remember correctly, even our local guru (AAli) also cautions following CA blindly in his recent book.

Cheerio.
*
Cannot blindly do it. One example is if something is going to go way off, DCA is not going to give you anything. tongue.gif

But for ASNB funds, hopefully it is going to re-bound, just a matter of when. rclxms.gif

Yape..

Somehow, i have a bad feeling that this drastic dip.. I believe it is not as simple as market correction because the world economy is facing is very major slowdown..

Continuous drop would signal an upcoming meltdown..

Well, when people sell maybe a good time to pick. But pick carefully !

My strategy is at least see some rebound before buying some for CA. Though it may go down later on, this is a better strategy than keep on buying when it is going down. biggrin.gif
