Hi guys,

im actually seeking recommendation for earphones.

Im looking earphones around the price of 100-150, not the IN_EAR type or earbuds, treid few brands and even bought the xiaomi piston, its sounds really good but i dont know why i feel uneasy with earbuds stucked in my ears LOL

was thinking to buy apple earpod which is around RM129 but dont know whether its worth it or not and maybe theres other better brand in terms of bassy and comfortable?

If your dac amp is portable gadget, I suggest go for easier to drive open back headphone- Philips Fidelio X2. It's more backward, sound stage bigger, warmer and thicker. Potential wise, Sennheiser headphone will give you more if you are pairing with a decent dac and amp. Preferably desktop amp.


Can consider Ostry KC06, ATH IM50, or Hifiman RE300H
KC06 is slightly warm and mid is thicker and more focus. Music body more solid.
IM50 is clean, but with larger piece of bass. More laid back and loosen. Sound stage is larger, separation better.
RE300H has the unique sound signature of Hifiman, quite smooth, warmer than the rest, darker and with more bass and lesser transparency.

Depending on what type of classical music. If more on chamber music or single instrument like cello and some vocal, which doesn't require much on transparency and pace, can consider Oppo PM2.
If you listen more to bigger production or orchestra which require larger sound stage, better frequency expansion, can consider Philips Fidelio X2 or Audio Technica AD1000X. ATH is cleaner and more neutral.

I would say still AT sound stage. Comparing to M50X, sound stage much wider, thinner sound with better details and separation.

Can consider Ostry KC06A, IM50. IM50 with larger piece of bass but more loosen, kc06a has tighter and punchier bass.
Using handphone build in dac, might not give you good bass also. My xiaomi sounds awful pairing with Ostry.
Can consider getting entry level DAC amp or dap in the future.

Hi guys, haven't been following audiophiles forum for a while. Totally lost connection with the updates of new gears already lol. Looking for a pair of IEMs to replace my faulty Brainwavz B2, budget not over rm250. Rig sony mp4, prefer something with clarity and a little bit of bass, signature like my old B2/DBA-02.

Currently looking at im50 and Ostry KC06 which have pretty good reviews on headfi. Any thoughts?

IEM: Dunu Titan1, IM70, RHA MA750i, HA-FXT90, B3 Pro1, KC07, GR07 BE.
On-ear: Momentum on-ears, HM9
Over ear: HM5/FA003, M50x, AD700x, MDR-ZX700, or DIY mod T50RP.

FYI, B2 doesn't sounds like IM50 at all, the latter has a tons more bass. Maybe a little on the KC06 but KC06 sounds less coherent, diff sound sign as a whole. Another recommendation from me, Havi B3 Pro 1.

I noticed they sound very different from the reviews i read too. Just thought that maybe I might enjoy a warmer sound signature as B2 tends to sound a little bit too thin at times. Still, i prioritize on the clarity more than anything. Hmm..haven't heard of that brand at all. Will look into it thanks!

If you have a little more budget, can look into the ATH-CKR7.

Can anyone help me with choosing a portable headphones?

Budget - around rm350
Foldable & detachable cables
Slim/low profile. Or at least not overly bulky
Comfortable for long period use
For movie & music. Music mostly ballad, pop & rock with occasional classical/instrumental.
Not particularly looking for IEM, rather on ear or over ear. Still, suggestions on IEM is still welcomed & considered.

Not so much an audiophile, rather seeking for headphones to wear during flight or daily commute. Thus the comfort level ought to be tolerable. And as sometimes I wear my sweater hoodie, a slim/low profile design would help.

Suggestions, please...

Hi guys, wanna consult sifu here.. I wanna find a new cheap earphone to replace my old s3 earphone.. I checked xiaomi website n found 2 earphones within my budget, mi earphone basic which cost only rm25 n piston earphone which cost double. Which 1 is a better deal ya? I just want a earphone at least on par with my old s3 earphone.. any other suggestions are welcomed..
