hi alygonecrazy,

do you feel pain at night? on/off , prolonged, dull aching pain? pls do visit a dentist asap. there might be chances for you to save it. there are many options these day to prevent tooth being extracted. you can always go for root canal treatment, post and core and crown. it's worthwhile the investment to save your tooth because it will even more expensive to replace it. for instances, implant will cost around rm5000-6000. removal of your teeth may cost around 100-200 in private and cost about less than rm5 in government. to make denture to replace your missing teeth, again there are many ways to replace it. you can have denture false teeth, dental bridges, implants, etc materials. feel free to ask me here. hope to clear your doubts.

It hurts when I drink or eat something cold or sweet due to the exposed gum. Is it too late to save?

dr k is right. Better go for root canal treatment if it's not very serious. nod.gif

hi x3rxus,

if your other molars are functioning well. definitely not in a hurry. biggrin.gif i hope you are aware that there are chances of your opposing tooth might erupt downwards into your missing lower second molar in future. because our tooth naturally has the tendency to fill in spaces. when that happen, you will lose substantial amount space to replace your lower second molar. hope all is well for you. smile.gif

hi kimio77,

they always said if you pay peanut then you get monkey. needless to say, it is important to visit a good dentist which charge affordable but not cheap. the charges will really depend on the severity of your gum (gusi) condition. i believe you are experiencing severe inflammation, redness and bleeding when you brush your teeth by now. that caused by debris, plaque, calculus, tartar which contain multiple types of bacteria colonizing your gum. to cure it? well, you have to remove all the factors which cause your gum infection. most likely you are having chronic gingivits (google it),it might worsen to chronic periodontitis (google it).
hope you recover soon.

Cage?? What do you mean by cage? Gum problem is hard to treat, but it is very possible, it takes time, thats all. All you need is regular cleaning

Sorry for replying so late, been neglecting this thread. So how you feel now? the neighboring teeth might get loose a little bit, because the tooth beside has been extracted, so the support is lost. But once the bone grow back into the socket, your teeth will be ok

I got all 3 teeth extracted done and installed bracers 4 days ago. Yeah, the teeth pain went away over time. But now what really hurts me is the sharp edge that holds wire into place at my molar teeth. It constantly pokes me cheeck

Is it safe to use oradex antibacterial mouthwash?
I heard chlorhexidine has bad side effect like staining the tooth and damage in tastes bud in long period of time. Or should I just use alchol based listerine?

But I really need to prevent gum disease, i heard oradex is the most effective way to kill them.

For the sharp edges, maybe you should go back and ask the dentist to adjust it for you so you feel more comfortable.

For oradex it is safe, just that it will cause staining due to Chlorhexidine ingredient. But the staining only visible if you use it quite often, i would suggest you to use oradex and others which are non-chlorhexidine. Oradex you can use maybe twice a month, then normal day use the other mouthrinse. Since you havig gum problem, it is bet to use with oradex.

To make it white, first is diet. Reduce consumption food like coffee and tea. Next is stop smoking if you are a smoker. Get regular scaling and polishing. Im not too sure about those whitening toothpaste in the product, but you can try it out. The last will bleaching, but the bleaching effect only temporary, last maybe up to a year then the color will return back to yellowish.

If you gusi have a small hole, we call it black triangle. It simply means you bone reduced in height and gum collapse. This is due to tartar/calcalus collection around your teeth for a long time, resulting in bacteria invading into your gum, causing you to have such problem.

The normal recommendation is 6 month once. But it depends on your condition, some people the calcalus build up is fast, so maybe they need to do it every 4 months. Just ask your dentist next time when you finish cleaning and polishing when is the next appointment

Hi, after a week with bracers on. I notice there is a few white patch/spots on my upper front teeth. Most noticably on my canine teeth. I'm not sure if they are already there before bracer treatment, but after bracers these white patches are quite noticable.

I keep my oral hygiene normally.

I am not sure if my mouthwash causes the stain?
Because behind the bottle it says the "active antibacterial subtance will cause stain on teeth and touge and may disable taste" I'm using oradex mouthwash.

Is this a serious problem or minor?

it night me from oradex, but usually oradex stain will be more generalised and more yellowish. If it is isolated whitish spot, maybe is the mild acid they use to bond the braket to your teeth, not a severe problem. You can consult your dentist in next appointment

I will advice you to remove your braces in the clinic you receive your treatment for braces. Not all clinic have the equipment to remove. And there is a possibility that your treatment is not yet complete, so i will strongly advice you to go back to the clinic where you go for braces.

As for retainer, the cost will be roughly Rm200/ pair...but it depends on clinic
