Hi doctor, i may need your advises based on the attached x-ray image.

1. How much is the estimated price to remove the wisdom tooth (Red box)?
2. I can feel there are some bad breath that coming out in between the wisdom tooth & the second last tooth. Is it possible to repair the second last tooth (Orange box)?

Appreciate that in advanced. Thanks.
*
price range from few hundred to couple thousand.... depending on location.... 2nd last tooth can be restored but you should get it sorted out soon.... once contaminant reaches the pulp area then it's gonna be complicated.....

my advise, remove the wisdom tooth now.... place dressing on the 2nd last tooth.... go back for permanent filling couple of weeks later....

AskTheDent and DrBarbarian,

During a visit to my dentist to clean my teeth, she found a couple of holes in my teeth.

Asking me to come back in 2 weeks to fill the holes, she gave me 3 choices of fillings - amalgam, composite and polymer. She cautioned me that amalgam contains mercury while composite contains BPA. She also said that polymer is a new filling that arrived in Malaysia last year and she does not have much experience with it. Another customer is waiting, so I didn't have the chance to discuss further with her.

Information about amalgam and composite are widely available online, but I can't find anything about polymer. Could you please share what you know about the pro and cons of polymer filling, whether there's any toxic ingredients in it, and maybe it's full/scientific name?

Between composite and polymer, which one will you recommend?

Thank you in advance.

composite IS polymer.... there's nothing new that other country has but we don't.... most probably it's just a new brand and the sales person managed to convince your dentsit....

i had a tooth which done 3 filling before, with different dentist, 1st time it was when im very young, and the 2nd time filling failed, after filling i still have sensitive tooth, and the 3rd one i did it in the government dental clinic which done by "students" and now its get sensitive again on every touch or even a single bite.

im afraid of extraction or root canal. im super nervous and anxious just by thinking over it. would like to know is there any dental clinic which provides iv sedation for root canal or extraction services? so at least when they put me sleep , they can do whatever they want, filling or whatsoever.

i also doubt that i have teeth grinding, my jaws n cheeks feels pain.
