25 years of living in Subang Jaya.

Miss the good ol KFC Drive Thru and A&W.

QUOTE(UserU @ Oct 20 2017, 11:10 PM)
Ayyyy, at least we have A&W in Taipan 😁
*
the A&W at the old 3K center(now closed) and thew one at taipan also sucks big time IMHO. I think the upper management kinda clueless on how to manage a good business lah. u see the taipan branch one. staff also clueless most of the time. damn long queue.the old 3K center one even though 24 hours but somehow always don't have enough staff + waffle will take forever to cook.

the better one is at hentian seremban towards JB.

There is no LDP prior to 1998 lah. That time,
- on Central PJ side, there was a dual carriage way road from KDU all the way to Kelana Jaya & ended up joining fed highway at sg way ( without the bridge). On Sunway side, the road is a dead end till the current Caltex stn b4 the toll plaza. Sunway was so peaceful and quiet prior to 1998.

-on Northern PJ side, the road after KDU or after Uptown Damansara was just a narrow kampung road i.e Jln Damansara all the way to Kepong - yeah toll free and jam for sure.

-on puchong side, there was no road linking Sunway to Puchong - didn't exist at all. The main road was the okr - kinrara till puchong perdana ( which was upgraded to 2 lanes in mid 90's. After puchong Perdana, it was a tiny jalan Puchong lama linking from Hicom shah alam to puchong and thereafter a very winding narrow road thru Pulau Meranti and never ending narrow road with a branch towards dengkil & another towards kajang..really narrow prior to yr 2000!

the map is the old and from there we can conclude real damansara is located in shah alam area...hehehehe others are copy2 only...
*
Yup. To be precise, the actual location of Damansara is actually surrounding the current F&N factory / Tiong Nam area. That was the last inland klang river jetty before goods trf from boats to lorries via Bt 3 to KL.

I love Subang Jaya. It is the best place. It is the most established township too. Others not as good as Subang Jaya.

All hail Subang Jaya biggrin.gif

My college housemate told me how rural Subang used to be in late 80's. Robbers came for break in by just drive a big lorry pretend they're helping the house owner to move else where. That's how his immediate neighbor was hit. One of the robbers even buy a can of soft drink to my friend

Among all USJ area, USJ 1 is the worse place to live in

after the existence of LRT, the traffic has lesser a lot compare to older days.

Wow that price then!!! It's like I can buy it in cash now shocking.gif

Bro, RM 130K in 1987 is quite a huge sum for kuli like me

RM 130K can't even buy brand new Accord nowadays

-----

anyway UEP house build quality was quite good back then. you can't even hear your neighbour's voice when you are in the house.

nowadays SD house build quality is like... meh? roof leaking is a norm, burst internal piping, cracked... haih

the culprits are the traffic lights at the giant and also at the Da Men . plus the long wait at the summit usj traffic lights.

but yes, after lrt was completed the traffic has lesser a lot .
but I noticed USJ also got plenty of old people ... like me. smile.gif
