DL Attenuation is 30dB

I am surprised TM will approve 4Mbit with this kind of Attenuation.

You will never get full 4Mbit speed due to your port rate. wink.gif

I need some recommendations for wifi router modems. I heard that not all dsl modems support Streamyx 4mbps. That's why I'm asking for recommendations. Don't wanna salah buy tongue.gif

P.s. Usage: Small single storey house, so no need kencang modem

Thanks in advance!

It's 2015 now, most, if not all ADSL modem sold are able to support up to 24Mbit tongue.gif

Get according to your budget, TP-LINK routers are cheap and great.

andyng38 : Your case is a higher level one, they obviously wrongly cap your speed in their system. Stress that ADSL speed is just 2048. Prove to them, they will use their own diagnostics tool as well.

I face the same thing before, but luckily the technician is competent and able to fix it with just 1 visit.

usually when I upload stuff I cannot surf any website.. all website will be hard to excess.
this is very frustrating becasue if I want to upload files that will takes 3-4 hrs means I cant
log into other website for 3-4hrs too T_T

also I used to stream my video on twitchtv and livestream when I had 1mb line and never has any problem.
but now I cant even stream anymore. all my game will get super high ping.

Limited connectivity is due to router issue

Even a cheap TP-LINK is better than TM router.

Anyone got such issue...

When anyone uploads anything, my whole internet goes down. Down as means... surfing the net with frequent PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED and my ping to any IP address would go beyond 1000ms. Complain so many times to TM but they said i max out my bandwidth. What fcking reason is that

Fix for the router side? Cos even android devices that is uploading bringing down the net.

Yup, expected to happen due to slow upload speed.

Google for it, but it is really tedious and hard to fix.

I just ignore it and wait for Unifi to reach me.

For example, maxis BB will not throttle download speed from 12am or 3 am to 7 am.

soli for a noob question...

is't really got diff if using RM70 modem or RM170 or even RM270 modem in term of speed?

A higher priced modem router got higher performance and it is more stable.

Normally it will support more simultaneous connection and faster wireless speed.

It is useful if you transfer file locally but it won't increase your internet speed.

I just signed up my streamyx 4Mbps last Dec 2014.. Guess if I upgrade now, still worth it...
The guys told me for the upgrade streamyx to Unifi, there are no changes.. is that true? Scare will got hidden charges..
*
No hidden charge, your contract will be renewed.

For an additional RM9 you get huge stability boost and much smoother connection.

Why not?

Torrent is known to flood the network.

Reduce your upload speed and number of connections. smile.gif

Guys, just upgraded to streamyx 4mbs from 1mbs. Been using Buffalo WBMR-HP-GN-AP router modem for a long time and now Telekom given me free Ridger router modem. Need opinion on which router modem is better?

Thanks Guys.

I never use the Buffalo router. Just test which one works better for you.

I guess the Buffalo should be better than the TM provided router.

QUOTE(vanellope @ Feb 23 2015, 05:58 PM)
I dunno if its okay to post it here (or should I open up a new forum?)

I've been using streamyx 4mbps for around 2 years and suddenly started from last month, the average speed drop from normal 4000++kbps to less than 500kbps (result from TM speedtest)
I've had the technician to check and what he told me was 'parallel phone line problem'.
As I've have been using streamyx for 2 years therefore I don't think it has something to do with my phone lines. Also, the speed slow seems to happens very regularly, for a fixed period of time, like 6pm to 8pm etc. and never happens during the midnight.
Is there any diagnostics I can do to identify the real main problem?

HELP NEEDED! THANKS!

This is weird. Your stats looks alright though.

Possibly someone leeching the connection?
