vivaldi,
relax man...I had that once, I checked and found the AV cable was not plug properly bcos accidentally pulled out while dusting/cleaning. so I got to see the ring of death and blue screen (TV)... If no power from power brick, wouldnt the xbox 360 lighted up at all?... check connections (for some electrical devices), even slight disconnection cause this if I'm not wrong. |

Dont worry lah kawan. Put your brick between a shoebox or something, also heard if you lay your 360 flat gives better ventilation than standing up. Just remember 4 red lights A OK , Three red lights a little to worry, two red lights annoying and one red light RIP 360.

Screen freezes, game hanged all the worst failures the 360 has all rolled in one major problem. Just remember guys one red light forget fixing it yourselves call the pros..

You are right but one red light makes you go into a corner cry and then prey that your 360 will not go KA BOOM or something.
As I said 1 red light is a rare occurence nowadays but the fact that anything can happen is quite scary indeed. link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907536 I dunno about you guys but I wish and prey every night that my 360 dont go kaput on me... I know i sound crazy but I love my 360. My friend recently got his 360 which was an old launch 360 way back in November. He didnt know that, soon he got one red light and explained to him to return it IMMEDIATELY. He did and got a new one, a week later. He and I continuosly hound one another about the true identity of Master Chief. I still say he's Hulk Hogan's descendant... This post has been edited by Hitman190: Aug 31 2006, 08:34 PM |

If it is because of the intercooler, that would make your 360 the xth 360 (forgot how many 360's with intercooler break down already. I'm sure it's more than 2 though) to break down with an intercooler.Aren't the intercoolers meant to prolong console lifespan? Not shorten it... |

maybe the intercooler sucking up too much power supply from what the console/power brick can handle?
so, is there anyone here still using the intercooler and running the box for like 5 hours everyday? |

I was already having doubts about the intercooler in the first place. Good thing I didn't waste my money on one in Singapore. Anyway, good ventilation + any kind of fan + air con = no disco lights as boss Djinn says

Or better yet instead of using the intercooler. Get the biggest most powerful standfan ever created by man.
JK JK But seriously everybody has a different aspect on the intercooler. Some love it, while some loathe it. Just remember Nyko arent the only ones with a cooler for the 360 |

i might have short term solution...today i kinda have crazy idea...since i already open up my 360 (but cant take out heatsink coz i don have right screwdriver) so been thinking why don i use normal fan to cold it down lol..(yeah u know table fan) then i 'tembak" (put it) it right above that heatsink CPU (cannot put on GPU since dvd-rom blocking it) well turn it on..can play like 10-15 mins lol..wow surprise...then its started to freeze again...then i off and put fan more to right..meaning i put on the side of that heatsink..full speed..then play PGR3 (normally i managed to play like 5 mins...then i keep on play..play..wow already 1 and half hour...till 2 hours then switch it off..kinda tired..just now i played PDZ till operation 5 non-stop..more than 2 hours..non-stop hmmm...strange..
i have photo to show it to u guys if u cant imagine what it look like..sorry picture kinda blur i dont have digital cam only webcam..later on try to play..more than 3 hours..heheh already 12 midnite..luckily tomorow off day for me..wish me luck ![]() |

An alternative if you don't want to spend on overprice High Speed Air Cooler. My 2 cent opinion, this is much more better because it'll cool down the heat sink first like normal computer's CPU cooling unit does. And the rest of hot air being suck out with the stock Xbox360 fan.
Instead of table fan, why don't you get a 60mm x 60mm x 10mm fan to cool down your 'nuclear reactor' ![]() My work...using an old PS2 fan. You'll find it hard to get these 60mm nowadays. Most of the shops sell 80mm to 120mm at Lowyat Plaza. The only way you can get this is from HDD cooler. ![]() This one is alumunium, get the plactic one. You can use 40mm (old pentium CPU cooler or chipset cooler) fan if you hate the cutting job. ![]() An example how to fit 40mm to heatsink. i never face any of this red lights saga (i know i will get this someday). red ants ada la. but, i make use of a table fan that blows the air on the right side of the console. the one yg ada byk lobang tuh, since from my opinion, that's where air masuk. The table fan will force cold air inside and at the same time blows away the hot air that 360 dispose.
Even if I tutup my 360 i can still feel some hot air coming out from the console that is carried away by air from the table fan. |

QUOTE(PrinceOfPersia @ Sep 6 2006, 01:42 PM) bro metal, u terrer mod kan? can mod my 360 like that one tak? Bro POP....takla terer mana...which one? The casing mod or fan mod? That casing one can't dola... don't have the tools (dramel/rotary tool) to do the cut. That fan canla...already cabut my intercooler last week. taken from ign/gamespot forum » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « For case modding better go to the person Ah_chak recommeded...get a professional to do the job. Bro Djinn...for fan mods tak mahalla...It's just a bit of cutting( absolutely no cut if using 40mm fan) and soldering. The absolute satisfaction is if we can get to cool down the GPU heatsink. This one damn hot, can't even touch with your bare finger. I did some experiment, as usual the case fan will do the job. But there's not much space for it to sit on top of the heatsink since the space remaining between DVD drive and heatsink is minimal. I got a solution, using CPU fan blower from PStwo. This one fit enough for 2 PStwo CPU fan blower sit between GPU heatsink and Memory slot. This time it'll not sit on top of the heatsink. See I've sacrifice one old PS2 and two PStwo to save or prolong the life of one Xbox360 The only thing that stop me right now is to find an alternative power point on 360's mainboard. I'm looking for 8v power point. There's 5v and 12v available and to use it I have to make a simple add-on component to raise or down the volt. It just my theory, anyway I hate to do the calculation and forget most of the formula |
