Hi guys, i have recently working on my new house renovation. When i come to the kitchen cabinet and my house wardrobe, i found that other than plywood and melamine, there are another material call Polywood which the sales claims that it is water proof and anti termite. is this true?

any one know what is the cost difference between a polywood cabinet vs melamine cabinet?

It is manufacturing defect.

Using inferior item to produce

as I always told my customer outside market has different type of 4G..
some genuine and some may not in order to save whatever cost and sell at higher price

I shall proceed with tribunal claim coz the contractor didn't want to replace the cabinet

LSS Kitchen Design, any feedback on their workmanship and quality?
*
I want to share my horrible experience with this LSS Kitchen recently. I found them during a fair in Mid Valley. This guy name George served me. I gave my measurements and ask for a quotation. He gave me a quotation which is slightly cheaper then other competitor, so i thought it was ok. So he ask me put a deposit of RM1k first before he continue talking to me as i was seen shopping around. So i paid the 1k deposit and he the fill up the form and give me a proper quote. However, i realise he was not upfront with me when he gave his quote before i gave the deposit. He starting telling me if i got built in sink and stove, need to charge extra to make a hole. Then he told me the quartz stone only got 2 colour on promotion. At first he told me quartz stone is how much but never tell me got colour restriction. Then when i read the quotation it says that UPFRONT FULL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED BEFORE INSTALLATION. I felt so cheated. Where got people do business like that. Fine, since i paid the deposit i decided to use them. WORST DECISION EVER. I REGRET NOT FORFEITING THE DEPOSIT.

When they came to install, the carpenter was rude. He just came in and started his work, didnt talk to me about anything. So i assume it was his way of working and not ask too much questions. When the cabinet was almost finish, i notice there was a gap between the cabinet and the ceiling and it was not sealed up and i ask him why it is like that. He said different design. So i call George and he said he will try to help me. After that i notice that the cabinet was too high and i cannot reach properly. I am 5'2 normal height. I measure myself and notice is was 50 cm higher than the measurement that was given initially. So i call George and he said he will get his boss to call me. The worst part of this experience is his horrible and rude boss, Ben. When i told him about the gap and the measurement that was wrong, he told me that it is right and there is no problem. He said the drawing measurement was wrong. How can that be. I would think his staff know what is the standard height is. HE SCREAM AT ME TELLING ME HE IS NOT GETTING IT FIX AND HIS MEASUREMENT IS CORRECT for the cabinet that was installed. I made him come to see the cabinet and he shouted at my husband and SCOLD HIS STUPID in my house. Even after seeing the cabinet he still say he was right. His capenter offered to do a small cabinet below so we can put stuff but till today which is after 1 month, nobody ever called to try to fix it for me. After the work was done, i started cleaning the cabinet and realise their workmanship is horrible. I can see that the plastic that stick at the side of the cabinet was done badly, with glue all over and some of the plastic side was spoil and you can see the wood being expose, inside the cabinet the plastic sheet that stick on the cabinet was torn and they use some sort of plaster to plaster it back and you can see it look like the wall plaster. I paid over 13k for a lousy looking and not reachable cabinet.

In conclusion, my experience with this company make me real disgusted. Extremely rude, insincere, not upfront, only answer what you ask, calculative, failed workmanship and a boss who thinks he is always right and customer is stupid!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience on this company. One full payment is made, they dont care a damn of what is happening anymore. That's why I will never made full payment and I will not engage any contractors that request for upfront full payment. So all forummer...beware.

I must be the lucky one then, since the person who followed up with me and the installer who came and install did a good job. The original person who I signed up with and made deposit to during an exhibition in Oct 2016 in Pyramid left the company hence a lady (Janice) attended to me after that. Had her visit my house to do the actual measurements too. Also maybe because I didn't opt for those fancy 4G, 3G, quartz, whatever weird stuff etc and wanted a simple Ikea oak design.

I too was surprised at the 100% payment upfront prior to the installation but decided to go ahead and PRAYED that I didn't kena F#$#@$. From now on I won't do this 100% payment upfront unless I'm very sure they are reputable.

The other experience which I almost kena %@$# is when my CCTV guy accidentally drilled my water pipe during instllation after I pay 100%. vmad.gif Luckily the CCTV guy got his own plumber to repair the damage but it was a bit heartache when it happened.

some reputable company may need full payment upfront due to their high reputation and expectation or below some certain amount.

But I believe is the amount close to RM13K. I personnel do not think need full payment unless for those really superb company will do so. Why? They have plenty of job in hand, they only accept serious customer that trusted them

This is why, some reputable company they only want serious customer/s but this very hard to judge. Depends your own judgement ya.

I have been to many exhibition and am always skeptical about those KC companies integrity once I place a deposit. It is like a trick to lure customers in with low prices and vague bill of quantities, only add things to the quotation later. Some even want full payment before installation, and this is not mentioned until you asked them.

Luckily didn't use LSS, went with SliderDrobe instead. More premium in price, but service and quality is excellent.

See what kind of workmanship is this.

Some more measurement is wrong. They did higher as compared to their drawing. I cannot even reach the cabinet.
