Yup. So Ron n Mon is a different scale. So how can it be high in Ron but low in Mon.

I know we bad at googling as whatprof jay had said. So we wan mr winner to point us to the survey coa if possible

Ngor em lan zhi wor. Gua barely pass ngor geh spm chemistry 17 year ago lol.

that site say this....
Ron test on vanilla engine @600 rpm. Mon test on valve timing engine@900rpm. So me think chiukapsound got a point or 2. Higher mon = better for high komplesion geh modern engine.

AUS, UK, MY use RON as standard. As recommended even in aussie ron90 above. Its not mention Mon. So we use MON to measure now.. With information from Mr neighbour daughter boyfriend brother sister in law's farmer punya future son in law said our MON rating low.. Where by Mr Mitsubishi recomend using Ron standard as min 90 will do.

So in theory means our Ron90 does not equal to other Ron 90..

there's possibilities of yes, different brand at the same ron rating with different mon rating... dun cucuk gua hehehe

example macam BHP 95 pakai 800ppm duno what bird in their cocktail, those additive "may" push the monday rating higher.

Anyway I pun mau tau our shell / bhp apa ranciou mon number. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Correct. But to say our Ron95 diff from other ron95 does not sing the song well.. As manufacturer recommendation is on Ron standard.

and imo even if got difference, it's so minimal that it should not mean anything to regular users.

worse still on stock mapping that's meant for RON88, correct?

I meant can take ron88 it is not meant for ron88.
As i explain there is a high octane and low octane map. The ecu will adjust the timing base on in between the high and low to get to the no knocking range.

The point is. Manufacturer give a guidance of recommended ron90 and above.. Bcoz our country use Ron as a stardard. Be it Ron or Mon it is just a scale. It might vary slighly but it wont be so much that other country Ron90 is better than our Ron95 (in terms of Mon). Its a scale.

Thats why metoo is be sacarstic that Farenheit is hotter than celcius. It is a different scale. The testing method is diff but the scale is still linear. Wont be inverted

agreed sifu and thanks for the info thumbup.gif
now understood that the ron88 is just lowest octane it can take based on low octane map however not recommended.

I would not use the word NOT RECOMMENDED ..
it really depends what u want. the point is the ECU is smart enough to retard the timing to take Ron88. If i drive like an arse4ole whom block the road .. it would not matter.
It will be more obvious during high end power where combustion is very quick

it is not optimize for ron 97, however it will benefit for 1.8 user especially on hot days. Ron 97 will have better rejection over knocking....

but well again.. im a loser... u guys should listen to facts from the winner instead.. thumbup.gif

pretend never read what i wrote okay ... i dun wan misslead like ppl says whistling.gif

thanks for the correction notworthy.gif

and yea even on the minor knocks here and there, is only when engine load (and/or really high rpm) only occur.
other than that, not really a problem as the ecu does its job as you said
(comparison between pumping RON95/97)

depends on you la

like i mentioned earlier when i refuel i'll make it at 2 transaction lo.....

4 full tanks per month get me like 8-9 transactions

but some how they only allow payment through the pump not the casher inside the petrol station rclxub.gif
