Can someone please enlighten me on the notification light color code?  I have seen the small led light up in different colors.  Green, red, blue, white, orange.  What do they mean?
*
Some apps can custom it and some do not.
Hard to tell it.

But mostly
White - Whatsapp
Green - Wechat, FB message
Blue - SMS, FB notification
Red- low battery

Orange - charging
Green - apps notifications (varies)

What's wrong with Sony nowadays? They become like Samsung. Now the Sony Z4 rumours is out, Z3 just released.

The notifications light are customizable according to your preference. I think this is one of the advantage of android over Iphone as you would not need to wake up your phone everytime to check for missed calls and messages. nod.gif

Every phone manufacturer has to. Technology is advancing too fast. They have to do so to keep themselves on the forefront. Advancing China Phones are another major competitor to their products.

Yeah. In recent news, Sony is blaming mobile department for the massive $2.14 billion loss, which I think most spent on their mobile department R&D. sweat.gif

I'm placing hope for Sony and my career. sweat.gif

U better pray hard bro.

Think about it, what sorta R&D they have actually invested into the mobile division???

2.14 billion shud translate to at least a better cooling system for their heating issues?? Honestly all I see are changes in design cue.

It's a waterproof phone. hot air can't escape, while back glass absorbs heat. I normally measure temperature by the battery temperature, as that's the most crucial component.

That would be the excuse to go when the phone heats up. But from a business perspective consumers should never bear the spill overs from your "innovation". I really hope someday sony can come up with a decent cooling setup for their phone drool.gif drool.gif

Very true. But does not force closes the camera app?

Anyway I wasn't particularly trying to nit pick their flaws, but much more concern with their R&D fund.

Good question. This is fixed in later updates of Z2; it just prompts message that it overheats. Same goes to Z3. biggrin.gif
EDIT : So no more force close.

Well I'm aware, but obviously that message does not imply "hey its overheating but don't worry too much keep using it">.<

So..........problem remains unsolved.

Just hope they don't decide to close/sell off the mobile division as in Vaio notebook range
I still see Vaio being sold at Sony outlets. Who is covering the warranty now?

I thought the loss only came from the mid-range segment of their mobile division. The flagships are doing well.

That's why Sony CEO said they will do a careful review of their mid-range offering.

Personally, I think they had too many mid range, e.g. M, L, T, E etc. Sony is a bit like Apple, if they start to offer mid-range but with 'premium prices", they will lose to others like Samsung and China manufacturers who can undercut them. I think Sony should skip the low-end market altogether, keep main focus on their flagship Z series, and maybe 2 mid-range variety.

I'm a bit more worried about their audio division. These days people like to listen to music on their mobile phones. Even Apple has discontinued their ipod classic and not updated their ipod line. I still like a dedicated music player, and if Sony decided to add a dedicated amp/DAC to their mobile phone, then they might phase out the Walkman too. cry.gif
