Z3 is basically is an upgraded version of Z2
If you really need a phone right now, go for Z2, if you wiling to wait at least until Xmas, go for  Z3

Thinking of upgrading my xperia Z, in dilemma should i go for z2 or z3. They shared almost identical specs, other than design n greater ip rating, what would u guys recommend?

That's not true if you consider that they are just constantly "improving" it over the 6 months period. It still has the same build, only refined materials and edges, and a slight update on the innards. I don't think it would take a year's time to figure them out. They are running a different concept. One phone, few generations.

Sony was right all the time that a flagship phone should be updated in every 6 months period, it's just that they neglected sales volume. How can you sell something you call a flagship phone, while in the same time making sure that it will be replaced in a 6 months time? Consumers would simply skip the current generation and wait for the next generation if their phones are still functioning well at the time of release.

If you ask me how would they really get back into the game? They should make the next Nexus device. Well, just my 2 cents anyways.

Of course you won't, because there aren't any worthy Nexus phone yet. When Sony is to make the next Nexus phone, say that again.

In America, the Nexus is an important device in Google's lineup. It gives you the pure Android experience.

The Nexus made by Samsung was kind of a hit back then. It then changed to LG for the last 2 generations as the manufacturer and virtually non of us Malaysians are interested in a LG products, given their poorly managed after sales services in Malaysia. Not even the telcos dare to import more Nexus devices in these days. Due to the failure of the Nexus 4 (since LG became the manufacturer for Nexus devices)

If the Nexus device would be Sony, it will be a win win situation. I'm sure Sony will bring the game to a whole new level. Imagine a Z3 running Vanilla Android, with their build quality, and water resistant properties and subsidized price RM1499 for a high end flagship phone, it would rival the iPhone or Samsung well.

In fact, I don't think Sony has any problems in the hardware department. My biggest concern is their software department. Hence, that's why I say if this two company mix together to make one device. It would a great one. Not to mention their camera performance. Sony will be the perfect canditate for the next ultimate Nexus device.

But the Z1 compact was released only 5 months ago in Malaysia? Plus, you can guarantee that your Z1 compact doesn't even have one single bug or experienced a FC before? That's great my friend. My advise is, don't update your software. You've already have the best Android version for your phone.

I didn't say Sony's version of Android is faulty nor that the Vanilla version is the best for all users. What I'm saying, is that Sony's software department is always not on their strong side. In fact, Sony's ADVANTAGE is their hardware department.

And a vanilla Android IS NOT Google's own version of Android, smarty pants. Other manufacturers customize their own UI BASED on them. So they are IN FACT THE PURE ANDROID without any UI customizations. The main advantage of the vanilla Android aka Google Play Edition is that they get guaranteed software updates. New features will be added more and more over time. Rather than your so called "enhancement", which is most of the time, are just marketing gimmicks and a memory hogger.

And if you find the Vanilla version too plain, you can always download custom launchers such as the Solo Launcher, GO launcher & etc. to spice up things.

And please mind your language. Plus, I don't own any of the Nexus devices.

Calling it a day. Still have 13% after 2 full days on a single charge with normal use, 6 hrs of screen time. Definitely works as advertised!

The screen setting feels abit off the white balance. I change it abit to a more closer color to 6500K. Not scientific tho. Use eye only. Haha..

i'd say customers are the most cheapskate and thick skinned. they always demand the impossible and when the seller really cant do anything, they will just leave like that. i have 1 year of experience in sales industry, and i met a lot of customers daily. so i do know what kind of customers are there and how i should deal with them.

and by the way, if you are really interested to buy a phone, i do welcome you to my outlet at G Floor, Lowyat Plaza opposite of alcatel. we will negotiate more. just take note everything is in SRP though because all stocks are under Sony Malaysia.

i will see what i can do when the stocks arrived 1st. basically i dont care much about profit margin as long i can sell out.

im not Sony Store but from Sony Center. the difference between Sony Center and Sony Store is, Sony Store have wide selection of Sony products like TV, home theater systems, headphones, MP3 etc and normally they will receive stocks much faster than Sony Center. dealers on the other hand normally will get stocks from distributors, which is i dont kinda like because warranty will take longer than Sony Malaysia sets.

im talking about white balance. not color vibrancy and sharpness...

not warranty sets but if you have bought from Sony Store or Sony Centers before, you will see a chop by Sony Malaysia in your warranty card.

I got mine from Sony store @ curve, it only cost me RM1919.00

and yes, the warranty is by sony malaysia

after getting discount? cause i went there and ask, it's still the original price RM2399.
