question, do you guys apply the tyre polish on the tires and if so, what applicator are you guys using?

i just use those normal 3M sponge to apply but the problem is that they get very greasy over time and it my palm always gets stain with some.
*
use cheap very thick sponge (that barely hold/absorb product) and apply sparingly (use more passes/spreads with lesser product)

alternatively there's stuff like http://www.shinecars.com.sg/lake-country-t...applicator.html
which i have bought

however as my cheap sponge is still holding up/having useful life, i still kept that new applicator MISB/wrapped unused lol

did anyone here try the new 2015 meg paint protect?
Saw one forumer selling here. Price not bad compared to most popular waxes/sealant out thr. Advertised as a long lasting sealant, claimed 365 days durability! Some more the application according to them is easy, just wipe on wipe off.

Sounds too good to be true but even if it could last 6 to 7 months in our hot tropical weather, i will be amazed.
*
LOOOOOOOOONNNGGG way to go on my ULW sweat.gif

come to think of it, ALL of my detailing products tend to last for donkey years, with the exception of:
- Super degreaser
- APC
- WB (and other wheel cleaners, like sonax, car pro)
ESPECIALLY wheel cleaner products lol
- sonax rim coating (lol durability)
- turtle wax F21 shampoo since i used it as clay lube
now i got born slippy so this should relief some usage a little
-UQD (going to get a new bottle soon as i was using the existing bottle for born slippy)

I have a question, not really asking how to polish but more to how you handle neighbour while you are using the rotary or DA.

i'm not an expert but i have a Bosch polish machine ( the vibrate one) and a makita rotary machine.

not so frequent to use this machine too, may once in a month. while i try to use the machine that time my neighbour come out and scold me. it was at about time 10am. She scolded me saying that "This is a house, and here is not a factory" at that time i was using the rotary. another time i use the bosch machine, she slam her door and said to her husband "  go ask the siao kia to stop it. in fact her husband dare not come and talk to me"

i admit that the machine did sound but is not as noisy as factory.

so when you use the machine, how do you handle the neighbour complaint?
*
thankfully, homes around my area were constructed decent enough that mere closing of doors/windows will ward off most sound (down side is, burglars rob people also no one would know, and yes my house did got broke in back in December doh.gif)

personally Rupes isn't as loud as most cheaper machines, in fact my Karcher PW would be noiser than my Rupes.
i just keep it in moderation and cease using those machines past 10-11pm or so.
so far no complaint yet, however i guess the neighbors are just being kind or something.

i only wash car (PW) once every few weeks/months.
full detailing (using my Rupes) so far once a year lol, once when i just gotten the car, and just recently detailing project before CNY (and lol procrastination master race, so now my half polished car is left at home like show car while i used back my iswara sweat.gif )

IPA is referring to Isopropyl Alcohol ? any idea where to get it ? should be safe for clear coat right ?
*
yes, can find via LYN garage sales.

safe, just dilute it 1:10 so it doesn't flashes too fast to leave a watermark.

day 16 of my detailing project due to massive procrastination and additional work from cleaning again because the car was left there and dust do build up even when the car is not driven.

i actually started it up yesterday just to make sure it's still working and no sudden surprises before going back to Ipoh (from KL).
Engine was a little rough during crank most likely because all the oil has flowed down to the oil pan hah

1. How much in total have you spend for all the listed product/equipment ?
2. With the total product/ equipment you spent vs your car paintwork condition , do you think its 'necessary' to have this them all ?
3. Upon detailed, averege how much clearcoat have you remove (cut) ?
4. Is your car expose to moisture/sunlight/moonlight after detailed ?

I do agree where end of the day is about self satisfaction and passions....
*
1) the rupes alone is 2k... the rest... i'd rather not think about it sweat.gif
2) that's the irony of detailing and motorsports/driving fast laugh.gif
3) didn't bother doing very serious cuts this time as opposed to my previous 2014 pre-cny detailing project; i've learned to close an eye on a lot of defects else i wouldn't be able to complete the job at all.
that said, while i don't have a paint thickness gauge, i don't believe megs UP is capable of very serious cuts, more so using a DA instead of a rotary... you get the idea.
4) is 44c on the meter hot enough for sunlight?
while i try my best to keep the car shaded when parked (basement parking, seasoned parking etc), other than that it's pretty much a daily workhorse/occasion adrenaline fun and despite that, my LSP can easily last at least 2-3 months for beading/sheeting action, with actual protection (i gauge this with the "blurry" surface that the "compromised" wax/glaze produces, and you really need to clay/IPA them off) easily in the 4-6months+

and yes, speaking of self satisfaction... my takeaway from this project is having my car being mistaken as a BMW laugh.gif

Hi all sifus

May i know where to find professional bucket with dolly?

Please advise

Thanks
*
maybe can ask osren... although imho, any decently sized bucket that can fit grit guards will do. dolly, either improvise/DIY, maybe check out ace hardware, or don't use them at all
i don't use dolly, can exercise legs, balanced work out instead of just my arms whistling.gif

Newbie here, carpro reload product have anyone tested before ?? If do clay washing will it remove the previous wax that i have applied before ?? Thanks for reply as i need to get more info. I able to get carpro reload 500ml for 150.
*
I've used carpro reload, yes clay will definitely remove it. heck, durability wise it is no where near Sonax BSD, and being that premium of a price, i don't think it's worth it.

megs UQW in the gallon would easily own it on value too.
