just face it... Van Gaal came way too late to be able to create a significant impact this transfer period. U can be glad to be able to sign di maria even though the price tag was high. I get everyone's butt-hurting right now. But what would you do in the manager's shoes when you have almost a starting XI of injuries to deal with?

New system, new manager, new philosophy. LVG already said 3 months is what he needs. Then we all should just calm down, let our injured players come back, let the new signings gel together and if further down the road it's not working, then start sharpening those pitch forks.

With a ton of teams looking at him, it is being reported that Manchester United have made a late move to sign Monaco striker Radamel Falcao.

The Columbian was believed to be on his way to Real Madrid, apparently tweeting his joy at sealing the move before deleting it, but now United are believed to have waded in.

Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, Sky Italia, Cadena Ser and AS are amongst a number of people reporting that United have moved for the striker but how likely is it?

United already have 2 top draw strikers and whilst they have tried to get rid of both Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez, a move for Falcao would only serve to further muddy the waters at Old Trafford.

But things aren’t so cut and dry.

Today it was reported that Real Madrid had agreed to sign Javier Hernandez on loan, a move that would put Falcao’s move to the Bernabeu in doubt. Add to that Man City have reportedly loaned Alvaro Negredo to Valencia and that leaves space for the 28 year old at The Etihad.

Arsenal too are still in the hunt for striker, having missed out on Loic Remy although Guillem Balague tonight stated they were not interested in Falcao as he was too expensive.

I’m betting that this will be the story of the day tomorrow, Jim White is shaking with excitement!
