It was a frustrating draw and naturally we would be trying to pinpoint the faults from our play. but lets look at the positives:

- blackett did a convincing job at the back, mainly coz sunderland had a proper winger on the right, Will. he's also getting more confident in playing the ball up the left side into oppo half
- Valencia, imo, is the current best rwb in our squad. good on tracking back and defensive duties although his marking for set pieces lead to the oppo goal.
- Mata worked harder and better than the swansea game. can see him on the ball more eventhough was just a pass and go.
- adnan replaced fletch and he was comfortable with the role. did a good job to make quick passes. only time i saw both CMs just outside oppo penalty box, press oppo into their own box.

-it's an away game and its better to get 1 pts than nothing.
-players are still new to the system, they will master it eventually.
-we still have carrick, evans, hererra, rojo to come into the team
-if signed, Di Maria will give further boost to attack line

So keep the faith guys smile.gif

hmm, guys, what about Powell? What happen to him? He should be still better than Cleverley right?? sweat.gif
*
Powell is more to CAM/FW. he was plating CAM with his lower division club and when on loan with Wigan, i believe he play fw role. he's got good height and an eye for goals but bit slow body movement. so cant really compare these 2 la..

Jones praises young charges

http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features...C2-14510BCD3D0C

QUOTE
After Chris Smalling became the latest player to join the Manchester United injury list on Sunday, Phil Jones praised deputies Mike Keane and Tyler Blackett, who both produced solid performances at Sunderland.
Manchester-born Blackett, starting his second successive Barclays Premier League game, impressed and was joined on the field by fellow youth-team graduate Keane after Smalling was forced off just before half-time.

Jones, who himself led by example at the heart of the defence, was keen to praise the young duo following the 1-1 draw with the Black Cats.

"Both of them did a really great job," the Reds’ no.4 told MUTV. "Tyler looked very comfortable and Mike came on and did equally well. Defensively they were very good."

"It’s not what we want [defensive injuries mounting] but these things happen and we’ve just got to adapt and move on."

there was this 2nd deal that man utd offered to Juve for Vidal, which is 40mil euro + 1 unknown player. this unknown player, contrary to earlier reports, is not chicharito, but instead kagawa.

so dunno lah. i also pening kepala where will di maria gonna play. obviously he wont be playing as wing back because he is not capable to defend. take a look at young, a winger but playing as wing back. his defending is atrocious, with lots of mistackles and poor man marking during set pieces.

if di maria gonna play robben role, 1 of the striker (rooney or persie) might have to be dropped, or rooney replacing mata as the AM.
*
the captain armband will cause a a headache when di maria comes. i prefer rvp to rooney, also i prefer mata to rooney. so for me:

-------- RVP----Maria--------
------------Mata---------------

He's got no pace! £20m Manchester United target Blind criticised by Cruyff

http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/08/25/...-criticised-by/?

QUOTE
He is quoted by Voetball International: "No one came out and played combination football. For that you need a high ball speed, but that is difficult when you play with one of Viergever and Blind in midfield. Both of which are not fast enough and technically in order to accelerate."

LVG most probably waiting to get his cm man before changing from 352 to 433. the back 3 should be LCB=Rojo, centre CB= Evans, RCB= Jones

Somehow, I feel more secured with Blackett playing than with Smalling playing.

Keane - Jones - Blackett seems more solid than Jones - Smalling - Blackett.

Wonder if it's just me alone.

against Swansea wilfred bony is a beast and i think Smalling did ok against him. not sure if blackett would have dealt with Bony better...

433 with three CB ?  rclxub.gif

should've elaborated more, my bad. i think the reason why he's using 3 at the back is bcoz he knows we dun have the CMs to win the battles in the middle of the park, hence the extra men at the backline. so, i'm guessing if we do get a strootman or a vidal in the middle, we would revert to a 4-3-3.

back to the question of doubt against Smalling, i then mentioned that the back three should be Jones, Evans and Rojo, with smalling and blackett as backups smile.gif

Evans back for Dons encounter

http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features...87-DBAA7F353E4A

Very good news, keep them coming back yo! rclxms.gif

QUOTE
Jonny Evans is in line to make his first appearance of the season in the Capital One Cup tie at MK Dons on Tuesday night.
The Northern Ireland international impressed on the pre-season tour of the United States but sat out the opening Barclays Premier League fixtures against Swansea City and Sunderland due to a leg injury.

After missing the end of last season with a foot problem, the centre-back is making a timely return and will be an experienced option for manager Louis van Gaal.

The Reds ended the 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light with Mike Keane, Tyler Blackett and Phil Jones in the middle after Chris Smalling was forced off with a groin problem.

With Smalling missing the trip to Milton Keynes and Marcos Rojo still awaiting his work permit, Evans will add some nous and steel to the backline for the encounter with the League One outfit.
