I'm so close to 6k now(5.9 k right now), i don't want to lose momentum. Even a short break is enough to send me back to trenchhood. I'm having a blast with this patch to the point where people actually dodge me in solo rmm. My self confidence is so high right now, i'm not afraid of playing against two 5.5k on the other team anymore. That's another reason i don't want to waste my time boosting other people mmr. Game will be so easy, it will tank my decision making because i don't even have to try to win.

But teaching goes both way. 2 players that i taught are at 5.2 and 5.7 right now. I learned so much from them as much as they learned from me.

Actually i can get enough money for new gpu selling my dota stuff. But as a dota fashionista, i refuse to wear shitty default costume.

Guys, my GPU is starting to fail. Since i'm piss poor right now, i plan to start a coaching service. How much should i charge?

Another easier method is boosting mmr. I've seen people charge RM25 per 100 mmr(2 hrs of work). For days, I contemplated doing it  but decided not to, because i feel its unethical. Plus its a scam, those people who paid me wont be able to maintain it anyway. I only did it once, for my friend for free because he can't stop whining about solo rmm.

I feel like if i'm coaching, i might be able to help the community.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

Actually i segan nak announce dekat facebook, nanti kena kutuk. So, I want honest opinion, do you guys think people would pay for coaching?

i tried streaming on unifi 5mbps and the quality is not bad. around 720p.

and twitch servers are so shit you cant watch more than 720 without it have to load every 20 secs

atleast for me.

so maybe you can go for that and get a few donations going. there arent many SEA streamers i think.

Cannot agree more! Most people only see the outcome not the journey it takes to produce the result.

I forgot to mention that i will be coaching exclusively in Malay and the roles that i'm teaching will be mainly core roles.

My plan is to charge RM25 per 2 hour session(Purge/Synderen), but i don't that style of coaching. This is dota, you won't learn shit in 2 hours. I prefer to do 5 days coaching session, 2 hours each day for each player for RM100. I won't do it for less than that, RM10 per hour is the lowest payment i'm willing to accept(even when i'm doing things that i love). Then it depends on demand, kalau dapat sambutan, can expect the price to increase.

Once i coached a player he is free to ask me questions/advice anytime even months after the paid coaching session.

I knew for a fact that those local mmr boosters have their slots full, people actually have to wait in long queue to get their service. Well, it got me thinking, if people are "smart" enough to pay other people to boost their mmr, why not something with more substance like a coaching service.

Aku pernah terfikir jugak, stream in malay. Even though i will only attract small niche audience, i probably won't have competitors. I can be very talkative if people ask me questions, but talking alone to stream feels awkward. Rasa macam orang gila.

I have more than 1 PC in my house. Plus, streaming its not something that i plan to do right now. Its somewhat more of a long term plan, maybe when i reach 6k later(if i ever reach it).

There's a reason why i have to wait until i reached 6k before i can even think about streaming. I can't guarantee that my personality will be good enough to attract viewers, because of that reason i need to show that i'm able to rekt everyone on my stream. At the same time, i will talk shit about my teammates and opponent and instead of useless whining i'll show how i'm going to capitalize on my opponent mistakes and how to make up for my teammates mistakes.

I need to consistently perform like this 180 spectators game:
http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/948968947

If i'm gonna do this, i have to do it in Malay. I believe that my shitty English with Malay accent wont attract viewers. It will be like most other generic sea players stream. If i do it in Malay, i believe most malay viewers will like it. Seeing another good Malay players rekting sea server can be a source of pride for them. Lets be honest, except from few players how many good malay players you met. I myself have been abused in solo mmr because of my race(one of the reason i always defend pinoy from haters).

If i can't get to 6k, then i can forget about streaming.

Kaizer96 don't paint yourself into a corner. If you choose to coach/stream exclusively in Malay, you'll lose out on a lot of potential customers/viewers.

My suggestion is you do things 2-fold:
1. Start streaming on Twitch with music and no commentary. I see so many streams like these, with titles such as "Ranked EU 5.7k" that manage to get hundreds of viewers (which is decent enough in your case). Stream when there aren't any tournaments going on, and you'll see your subscriber base build up pretty fast.
2. Offer coaching services to players in the SEA region in both English and Malay. I very much doubt your English is bad enough to warrant using Malay exclusively. If you're subscribed to DB+, you can use that to offer additional insight to your trainees.

Arcisal That may happen soon, Pinoys have actually requested for their own server due to ping issues.

Why do you say you have shitty english when you are using correct grammar and all when you are replying your forum. You use the language you are comfortable with. Your stream can be in english or malay or both.

Btw on dota 1 last time i like to pretend to be malay to troll others. haha. its funny how racist gets ticked off easily.
