It's ok, we're here to help shed some lights to u guys in making choices. smile.gif

Well, I'm using the Mi3 actually. Both side is actually curved. Not edgy. So it feels nice holding it. Maybe I have small hand, but when using the phone, i have to stretch my thumbs a bit to drag down the drop down notification bar. Typing on the keyboard is ok with 1 hand though. Just that reaching some top corner or bottom corner sumtimes nid to stretch.

for the 4G. It actually depends on ur area. If ur area got 4G support, then it's worth to get a 4G phone imho. If ur area no 4G, then I feel there's no point in getting 4G. But then having a 4G is a gud thing, as u've said, futureproof. Maybe next time ur area got 4G coverage dy, then u dun nid to change phone. thumbup.gif In Klang Valley, I think most area got 4G coverage dy iinm.

About the sd card, it depends if u like to listen to music with ur phone or if u like to snap pic with ur phone. If yes, then I suggest getting the Moto G LTE. Coz u can store ur songs and photos in the sd card.

For me, currently I have 9.18gb left in my Mi3. That is with several social app, games, 38 songs, 180 camera taken photos/videos in my phone. I don't install much games or apps. Just the basic like Whatsapp, FB, Instagram.

Btw, Mi3 support usb on the go. U can buy 1 of those pendrive with dual port, 1 side normal usb, 1 side micro usb, so u can plug into ur phone and use it as a pendrive on ur Mi3. nod.gif

Just would like to add;
that even though the One does blow the Nexus 5 out of the water hardware wise,
you still need to take into consideration the stability. Touchscreen issues, battery drains to name a few are well known issues that may plague the phone (based on community feedbacks from forums, reddit etc).

I had the same dilemma as you but opted for the Nexus 5 for peace of mind, works the way it is intended straight out of the box.

But in a perfect world, the ONE PLUS ONE is a sexy sexy beast.

If you could wait, chill out for a few and see if the updates they roll out addresses said issue.

Well, not really in a hurry to buy the phone, now still doing research of which phone to get..
In the dilemma of should i top up for a more stable phone with similar specs? or just wait for it? hmm..
My friend is persuading me to get a OPPO Find 7a, not sure if its a good choice..

Sorry, can't advice beyond that, cause our situation is the same as far as choosing between the N5 and OPO.

If you want stability, the N5 is as stable as it gets. A tad old though, being a 2013 release.

If you want value for money and a piece that could go head to head wit the big boys (and win), OPO it is. Just take into consideration of the slight bumps that you may encounter.

I do suggest you visit their respective threads here, both models are in the 1st page and both are just as lively.

Hope you find the perfect phone for you man, I know how many sleepless nights it took to decide blush.gif

Cheers.

Both redmi note and 3C is really similar. I guess it'll go down to size. Do u want a phablet or a phone. hmm.gif

Maybe Redmi Note's standby time will be better with it's bigger size battery capacity. Camera wise, Redmi Note shud perform better too. Otherwise the specs are really similar.

deciding factors might be the size and whether u like Redmi Note's MIUI user interface.  nod.gif
there is a newer version of Moto G here. It was announced about 1 week ago in IFA. The new version of Moto G's camera is better than the current version. It spots a 8MP shooter. And also that's the only major difference between the new Moto G and current Moto G. But u'll have to wait for it's arrival in Msia though.

In terms of hardware, Mi3 is better imo, can handle higher end games with it's processor and ram. While in terms of LTE and microsd card slot, Moto G wins.

So it depends on u, if u really nid LTE and microsd card slot, then Moto G is for u. nod.gif

Yea. So the main difference between Redmi Note and 3C is the processor, battery capacity and camera. nod.gif

yea. Not sure of how pocketable it is. hmm.gif never hands on with the Redmi Note before. Maybe u can ask the users in the Redmi Note thread.

But at least camera performance and battery performance shud b better than the 3C. smile.gif

Thank you for the detailed reply. I'm glad to hear that it's not too uncomfortable in your hand, and that the space isn't much of an issue. The USB storage is a really nice touch, too. I'll most likely try to look for a similarly-sized phone to see how it fits in mine. I can't exactly find a Mi3 here, or a Moto G, so I'll have to order it online when I do decide, haha.

Though, about the 4G-- I've only just learned that there are different frequency bands for 4G services, so some phones' 4G don't work in places where the frequency doesn't match. It makes me a little worried now to try and purchase the Moto G 4G LTE from a seller online. How do you know which frequency bands it works with? I visit Singapore often, so I hope to have a phone that works with the connection there. If I can't get the 4G to work, then I might as well go for the Mi3, I figured.

Forgive my lack of knowledge-- I haven't really been keeping up with the mobile world, haha.

about the frequency of carriers that support 4G I'm not sure too. Since I'm not using any 4G device. laugh.gif

this I can't give u a definite answer. hmm.gif Maybe can ask in the Moto G thread. nod.gif

I think Xiaomi Singapore also got flash sales like Msia right? If u really decided to go for Mi3, just purchase it online, the safest way to make sure that it is original set. thumbup.gif

All right. I'll probably have a look around. I'll be heading to Singapore in a few weeks, so I'm sure I'll be able to find something, haha. Thanks again. Most of my doubts have been cleared, at least. c:

Hi all,

I'm currently a MI3 user. Love the MIUI very much as I'm coming from iOS so a much smoother transition smile.gif
Actually I like everything about the MI3 except for the camera, no LTE support and limited 16GB storage.

Done some research and found that LG G2 will fits by bill nicely (a more complete package - good camera, LTE, 32GB storage and love the fact that it is bigger at 5.2" but still having a smaller footprint than MI3 which is only 5". Never like those big phablet phones)

But checkout some sites/youtube and found the stock UI to be rather fugly. So I would like to flash the MIUI ROM for G2. Can anyone advise if this is easy to do/ok to do so? Say for the camera, would different ROMs affect the overall photo quality?

Any comment will be much appreciated.

LG G2's UI is definitely different from Mi3. But it's android. And u can flash MIUI rom or install MiHome Launcher.

if u flash MIUI rom, u'll get the whole package. U'll get the music player from MIUI, file manager from MIUI, the security app.

But if u juz want ur G2 to looks like MIUI, u can just install the MiHome Launcher. by installing the launcher, it will look exactly like MIUI and that's it. The app installed are still the original apps in ur phone. Launcher does not include those stock app in MIUI. It just makes ur phone looks like MIUI. The original music player, camera of G2 is till intact. Just that ur phone will look like it's running on MIUI skin.

Launcher is like for those that wanna keep some of the native app as stock app, like the camera etc. hmm.gif

Ah I know about launcher bro. But they won't change the look for stuff like the drop down notification bar, the settings screen etc.

well. On comparison, I think the G2 is a good upgrade from Mi3. Bigger screen but more compact, bigger memory, better camera. Just that u nid to get used to LG UI or juz flash it with MIUI rom. brows.gif
