1. Brand: any
2. Budget. Below1k
3. Specs. Any decent won't lag too much, prefer microsd otherwise need 32gb space.
4. What you need in the phone: Durable! User very likely to drop it multiple times. Also good battery life

I myself using Padfone S (battery life Okay ah, dunno who said earlier it's not good), but don't think it's durable, looking for something a bit more like 3310 durability.
*
at below 1k, I don't think there's an upgrade from Padfone S. Padfone S and Mi3 is the cheapest Snapdragon 800/801 phone dy.

An upgrade would require more than 1k. Maybe u shud invest in a gud casing like Rock case or Spigen casing for Padfone S. Not sure of it's availability yet though. hmm.gif

1. Brand : Any brand as long as it is not Sony, HTC, Lenovo and Samsung
2. Budget : Around RM1k
3. Specs : As long as it is better than mid-range phone ( quad-core, 2GB RAM, 16GB, minimum 8MP rear camera,5 inch and above )
4. What you need in the phone : Smooth, no lag, if possible able to receive android updates like Nexus series.

Actually I aimed Nexus 5 as my target, but seems like most of the shops are running out of stocks, as Android Authority said, N5 will stop producing, after Q1 only start selling. So I'm afraid that Nexus 5 out of stock when I want to buy it. So, I'm looking for a second choice.

Thank you. smile.gif

Suggest a cheap android (or other phones with different OS) that is easy to use by old folks (my mum) and has basic feature like WhatsApp/Telegram.

1. Brand : Any brand
2. Budget : Below the price of an Ipod Nano with Bluetooth.
3. Specs : Doesn't matter. See item 4
4. What you need in the phone : Music player and Bluetooth to connect to car. Hotspot function not a must but would be good if available.

Phone will be placed permanently in the car as a music player via Bluetooth. Will put a spare sim inside for hotspot function when required.

Yes, I know I can get the latest Ipod nano, but that's RM500 plus. Any Androids out there that's below this?

what current phone are u using? cannot pair it via bluetooth to ur media player?

I think Zenfone 5 the 1GB ram version, Redmi Note, Honor 3C Lite, would be nice. Big screen, can use as GPS too. nod.gif

Btw, a bit off topic, this is nice

Thks for your note. I am using an IP5 at this moment as a main phone with a Nexus5 running the media streaming via Bluetooth. Felt that it was a major overkill to have the Nexus doing this. Plus I do not want my IP5 connected to the car via BT to stream as my calls will also be streamed to the speaker system. So am looking for a cheaper and smaller alternative to the N5.

Brand: any
Size: 7 and above
Budget: RM600

Need call function but will be really minimal usage on it, just to be in case. It's for traveling purposes and Mostly for surfing and light gaming. Currently looking at Asus Fonepad but undecided between 7 & 8. The display at Fonepad 7 looks more crispy vs Fobepad 8....any other recommendations?

Define your "RM<insert amount here>" low and mid budget mean.

With that kind of budget, I believe those Asus are only option here, get ready for Powerbank since you telling for travel. Intel SoC are battery hunger.
