QUOTE(skylinelover @ Jul 23 2018, 10:45 AM) Well James Wan not exactly the "can go no wrong" type of director. His FnF just repeating what Justin Lin did before him. Not a fan of his horror movies either. Too mainstream. He has yet to reach that top shelf film director for my nitpicky taste but again hope there is more than what the trailer shows. |

Too mainstream. He has yet to reach that top shelf film director for my nitpicky taste but again hope there is more than what the trailer shows. Not tryin to start arguement or stuff. Just voicin my opinionJustin Lin tried revamping FnF franchise with Tokyo Drift which is largely disliked by regular moviegoers besides racing purists. Again, he attempted infusing heist, mafioso with FnF4 which still didnt click at BO It was F5's "family reunion", Rock's Hobbs & final vault heist which gave the series a reboot of sort. With FnF6, Justin Lin (with due respect) faithfully sticked to his success formula, only adding team to antagonist Owen Shaw as with Dominic Toretto. Besides that, for me it was largely a formulaic, template made product With F7 however, James Wan gave the series a rather dark, gritty & raw feel something you never see in Justin Lin's previous 2 films which was light-weight & sometimes downright cartoonish (FnF6's airport sequence for instance) Wan introduced badass characters into the series, Deckard Shaw, Mr. Nobody, Ramsey along with the so-called God's eye concept that feels James Bond, Mission Impossible, Bourne series inspiration He clearly gave the series a different route, which was followed even in FnF8 |

You can't say for sure those characters specifically written by James Wan. So a car jumping from building or parachuting not cartoonish??! Bending physics and low angle booty shots not exactly dark and gritty lol!!!!Wan introduced badass characters into the series, Deckard Shaw, Mr. Nobody, Ramsey along with the so-called God's eye concept that feels James Bond, Mission Impossible, Bourne series inspiration He clearly gave the series a different route, which was followed even in FnF8 Again wait for the final movie to have the final say whether he is that maverick film director or not. Still calling it he is not that that hotshot everyone think he is.... This post has been edited by 6so: Jul 29 2018, 03:24 PM |

there is rumors that movie floppers or anti DC movies or Disney group or Marvel fanatic ....try attempt bring down DC universe. Could say trying to make DC is joke and Marvel is marvelous. Someone behind the scene doing this. Attempt on Wonder women movie not really success, but Justice league could say success make in failed getting box office theater hit in movie screen.

It's DC... it's hard to say. 'Suicide Squad' trailer looked good what with all the music and all, but turned out bad.
Here's hoping James Wan truly delivered another stunning DC spectacle. The other winning DC film would be 'Wonder Woman'. Believe it or not, I have the most hope for 'Shazam' |

Think I started out as a neutral person - I liked Dark Knight and I enjoyed others like Iron Man, Capt America etc. However along the way, after Dark Knight, DC just couldn't cook up something up to par while Marvel somehow managed to capture audiences' attention. This is merely my own personal opinion. In fact, Wonder Woman was disappointing; it somewhat felt like a copy of Captain America - probably due to their image and timeline when war happened. While Gal Gadot is truly a beauty, the story just didn't work for me. If you're to say there's anti DC fans sabotaging, i'll say the same for anti Marvel fans. I'm sure there are people who sabotage the film before say, iron man or Avengers is even out. But if your film is really good, it will drown out the negative reviews or noise. So while anti-fans can shout all they want, they won't be heard. At the end of the day, critics can say all they want... it's not going to stop people from watching the blockbusters |

Dunno the new leadership in WB still as chaotic as the previous one. Impromptu creative changes and announcing movies that hasn't gone through script development stage. Think they still gonna shoot themselves in the foot for awhile until a strong leader to man the DC ship. Maybe once Matt Reeves's Batman is out they able to anchor their bigger plan or the solo movies is the way to go forward.
They need a Nolan or James Mangold to flip the standard CBM formula. They shouldn't even considered to follow MCU footsteps but forging their own path instead. Even with the meatier new trailer but still not completely sold until they show more of Mantra and Orm relationship with Arthur Curry. So far it's your cliché moustache twirling villain. |
