Then... i suggest you to apply for Vet program in Institut Pertanian Bogor, Indonesia. (One of their premier Agricultural Uni)

Malaysians have studying vet there for decades...
It is well recognized by our govt.

Finish that first. Then continue study abroad...
Indonesia is the cheapest and nearest option.

Related to livestock industry- cows, goats and the like. Reading the website it seems like it gives a Veterinary Certificate (not a vet med degree)- and the emphasis is actually entrepreneurship (owning a business related to livestock).

Veterinary medicine requires a license for you to practice after you graduate (vet students, correct me if I'm wrong on this point). Anyway you can see the universities listed here http://www.mvc.gov.my/2b_institution.php#I to do some consideration.  icon_rolleyes.gif

ya, if im going to take up programme there i might as well just accpet that sains penternakan offer. come to think of it, they are both the same.
i have ady saw that list, but still.. overseas=$$ cry.gif hope to go taiwan though.

i searched the whole day for option b. seems like biomedic graduates will have a chance to work in vet field. so i might continue over there.

Hye, I'm just like each one of you, been passionate in veterinary field since I was a kid. I did my diploma in animal health and husbandry in upm, bintulu did not score high enough for veterinary degree admission in both upm and umk. So I decided to work in related field, been working as veterinary assistant for almost 2 years and currently unemployed and looking for job.

I did apply for overseas uni, bogor institute of agriculture got an admission but didnt go for it, here's why, the total fees is around 50k + but the agent will rip you off around 60k++ saying it includes the first year tuition which is 44k according to the agent but its actually 12k+ so why is it expensive, the agents will be giving all kind of reason but the fact is the money is being used to bribe the indon uni for admission and cari makan. So its 44k+ and 20k for agent fees, flight ticket, visas and 1st year accomodation fees, FYI the 60k+ is only for the first year, the course duration is 6 yrs and the remaining 5 yrs you have to pay around 12k excluding yearly visa fees, accommodation, monthly expenses and so on. You might ask me why I didnt apply direct to the university, I did!! Went to bogor to sit for the examination, survey accommodation asthe uni doesnt have accommodation to cater all students. So as expected they didnt layan my application, and didnt gave an admission bcoz they cnot cari makan if students want to directly apply to the uni. Btw the teaching in bogor uni is fully bahasa Indonesia and trust me it is not as easy as bahasa malaysia.

So till date I have never give up my ambition of getting into vet school and becoming a vet, I might consider going to India as it is recognized by jpa, other reasons are bcoz its cheap and lessons are being taught in English, Plse check malaysian veterinary council website for list of recognized universities around the world, and Plse call Upm and Umk to tell your interest and your qualification as there are diff intake methods for asasi grad, stpm grad, diploma grad and those with suitable qualification but never meet academic qualifications and have enough working experience ( i'm trying for this)

So never give up, and keep on trying smile.gif
