Has always dreamed of becoming a vet
applied for asasi after spm but i didnt get it so i ventured into form 6, trying all my best, squashing all my brain juices during the course and ultimately i have pointer 3.5, just ngam for the requirement of vet in upm. i know it's not high enough but still that's all the best i can give.
then upu gave me sains penternakan at umk.
i really like animals(not just talking) but certain that i would like to spend my future with them.

was like dream aint never going to come true.
my family background cant afford me to go overseas also.
so im posting here to see if anyone shares the same/similar problem and just wonder if there's might any miracle out there

previously i am very interested in dentist area..
squeezing my brain like shiat and get full A's in SPM, 4 Flat in matriculation..after that applying UPU for dentist..

but here i am IT Technical Support..
and even my job is IT related, but i didnt forget to pass the biology and science knowledge to all my kolik..

Just go for it I guess. I have a friend stpm 4.0 science dint get any medic, pharmacy, etc but he got law in UM.

did u like fight for ur rights? with ur results, u can argue with them

Unfortunately vet med choices for universities locally is only UPM =| even worldwide there's not many unis offer vet med, and its a very competitive course because of limited places. (I researched because I was interested in it before)

Don't wanna sound like a let down, but realistically you should look at options outside vet med.

nope since i know that time so many students applying for dentist..
maybe its not my luck in dentistry..
i just follow along my path given to me w/out disregarding the knowledge of science that i have..

ur friend go for law then? if um, i suppose he can score 4.0 for the first 2 sems then exchange credits for another course

that's the thing. i dont know what i wanna do besides vet seriously. i can do other science courses but i know it will be school days like how i forced myself to score well in chemistry and bio. the passion is not there.

btw, have you check your syllabus?

Or if you still want to, you can still look overseas, just not the usual UK US Aus and all that (I understand the burdens of fees). Maybe widening your scope might help. I know there's a few unis in Indonesia that do vet med, though I personally don't recommend anything since I'm not sure of their quality/ campus life. Hopefully someone can help you out here

yup, i looked through the syllabus.

Do Teaching program. Bachelor of Education in etc.

so you're not pleased with the syllabus as well?
what does your parents say about this?

What I can think of:
1)Try Sem 1, then change your course.
2) Appeal to change course before you register (well, you will get a lot of "NO" for this.) If you try to change after you register, the faculty/management/admin will say you have to finish sem 1 first... then apply to change course next sem.
3) Apply next intake

I'm currently thinking of preparing PhD proposal. Not nothing specific yet.

erm, my parent ask me not to waste my time and search for another science subject that will secure me a job next time. typical one.

i know umk offers vet. i thought of trying that also, but my mum ady said "u dont even dare to try"

i once saw in an article in the stars they're offering training programmes for those who are interested in vet field. any info about that?

Related to livestock industry- cows, goats and the like. Reading the website it seems like it gives a Veterinary Certificate (not a vet med degree)- and the emphasis is actually entrepreneurship (owning a business related to livestock).

Veterinary medicine requires a license for you to practice after you graduate (vet students, correct me if I'm wrong on this point). Anyway you can see the universities listed here http://www.mvc.gov.my/2b_institution.php#I to do some consideration.
