Company of Heroes series is also on sale.

66% to 75%. Not a bad deal to be honest.

I really hope Steam wont be locking games to a region. I dont mind region locked activation but I do mind region locked in playing the games I bought legitimately.

Apparently, Steam already have mechanism in stopping people from activating cross region games keys. I know someone in China who bought a copy of CoH2 ROW, could not activate it in China.

what? how come ROW kenot play in china?  ohmy.gif

I dont know.

Must be some sort of region blocking again.

To be honest, I started to dislike Valve more and more, as they always do some drastic changes without letting people know before hand. Their PR is pretty much non-existent.

Interesting article: Half of PC gamers wait for sales to buy - Survey

I do wait for sales most of the time.

Thats true unfortunately.

Most games arent worth preordering these days.

Still kinda tempted to pre-order Civ BE though.

After 16 sept, if we buy from gmg, humble and other, then activate in Malaysia, will that any problem? Are we going to region lock?
*
There is a chance it might happen.

Someone in china bought CoH2 ROW, could not activate in China.

If Steam pull this kind of shit, im going back to piracy.

Now outsider really want to group our country as china?
Maybe they see our gov say want to learn from china that block facebook, block this block that, they though our country "learn from east" mean learn from china?
*
I dont know what happen but it seemed like a ROW key might not work everywhere now. Just be careful and hope you dont have to go through the same shit.

Its Valve, they never lay out the rules or condition. When shit like this happen, no one knows how to deal with it.

row does not mean 100% region free
*
ROW is keys meant for Rest of the World.

It is suppose to be region free copies that is activatable and playable in anywhere in the world. You cannot activate a Russian key outside Russia but you can activate a ROW key anywhere in the world. Also, if you buy Steam games from stores, which has zero region lock, the games are commonly listed as ROW if it is listed. Sometimes it is listed as WW or Retail.

yiporan said is true, depend on the game you are buying

here a example http://steamcommunity.com/app/213670/discu...749191422528698

CoH2 has no censored version so why ROW key doesnt work? And China does not censor or ban CoH2 as far as I know. Nor CoH2 has a special chinese version.

If Valve want to make buying games on Steam that complicated, I am going back to piracy.

I have already pre-ordered Civ Beyond Earth. Big fan of turn-based games.

Other than that, I will get GTA5. There is no urgency for the rest from my perspective.

I really like the setting of Civ BE. More so than the history based Civ V.

I am just not sure whether how good will it be.

keep calm dude, dont fall into Bethesda's bait.

wait for skyrim LE to $7.49. (I am base on most AAA game stop dropping price @ $4.99 & GOTY @ $7.49)

So Goty @ 7.49 seems like a good deal for me lol. It is up to Bethesda now.  tongue.gif

I am not intending to return to the game now so I dont need to buy it now.

You only can activate these games in those countries.

You probably can play those games outside of those countries.

Just a heads up, beware of the Eskimo malware that might wipe your entire inventory and steam wallet.

Damn I was thinking about Elite : Dangerous, it looks gooding. But damn I hope it's not going to be a huge flop.
*
Quite unlikely it will be a flop.

The backers are generally pretty happy with it and there are people who are doing some pretty cool stuff with so little content.

I see, the pre-order right now is discounted at $50. It seems it has some quite great stuff included as a bonus. I hope this discounted will stay at 50 for awhile till I collected enough moolah laugh.gif
*
$50 is a pretty decent deal IMO.

The game has quite a lot of content at this stage, despite it can get a bit dull as not much combat in Beta 1. If you like Euro Truck Simulator, Elite is a damn good Space Truck Simulator now.

Beta 2 will add a tonne more stuff from capital ship fights, another main governing faction, more space stations, fuel points, mining and also exploration.

i think it still tied to your CC. like Cheesenium case, he's in Malaysia but his CC still linked to Aus store.
*
Yeah. My account is still tied to my expiring AU Debit to AU store. I might switch to Malaysia store since the price is significantly cheaper.

I'm just worried that can you still play those games with those orange tags outside SEA.

RM95 for Civ BE is very much shut up and take my money level of cheap.

QUOTE(ik3da @ Sep 17 2014, 11:39 AM)
Argh, crap, I think I gotten rid of my last M'sia credit card already... It makes me wonder though, how bout the steam wallet? It is SGD for me now, but if I access it in JB or so, would it convert to RM? If this works, I will just pump Steam wallet and go buy buy buy whenever I go back M'sia.
*
I think you can try to attach your SG CC in JB on MY store.

And you can get away easily if steam go nazi with it. You are working in Singapore but Malaysia is still home to you while you have a lot of documents to prove that.

The cheap game price is great. I'm actually worried that our beloved government will go nazi on the steam store content.

I remembers that some politician wanting to ban Devil May Cry. Even Civ V was proposed to be banned cause you can start an Arabic civilization with The Jew logo as your religion. The reason was, it was misleading.

what we can do now is just pray the gov wont look over here =.=
If not then the whole thing will be screwed up...
*
I hope so. If they do, technically everything is haram on Steam.

That kinda stopping me from switching to MY store as I know Aussies are not so nazi.

QUOTE(Darkz01 @ Sep 17 2014, 12:04 PM)
only when want to activated/added to your library you must be in those countries listed...
once added to your library...
you can play anywhere you want...
*
Source? Just because the orange tag says that. It doesn't mean you can play it outside SEA.

The old Eclub valve games are only playable in SEA.

Well , as our government can label a vegetable as offensive...maybe one day when they have nothing else to use.

Sigh. That is true. Just be careful what you say online these days.
