Avoid it. It plays quite terribly.

Play Frozen Synapse instead.

not all titles are region locked, and most that got region locked are only for activation purpose.

since until now no one can prove that buying region-locked game from here then cannot play when outside of region.
*
I might be on something here.

There are 2 separate lines of codes on Steam DB, "onlyallowrunincountries" and "PurchaseRestrictedCountries".

I checked on 2 games so far, a lot of them only have "PurchaseRestrictedCountries" but the "onlyallowrunincountries" code is absent.

Does anyone know any games that is found on some region Steam store but only can run in certain countries?

EDIT: Found some games like Civ BE are region locked to begin with. "AllowCrossRegionTradingAndGifting" is always no for any region.

The listing details in SteamDB might not actually be definitive. Steam can change the regional copy of that particular title at anytime, whatever it is for activation only purpose or running purpose. They did this with certain titles bought from RU before.

Overall it depends on the publisher, it seems that any titles bought from region outside North America seem to always carry the inherit risk of attaining region locking more so if the publisher is zealously policing regional copies.  doh.gif
*
It is not definitive but it is an indication. That is the most important thing as Valve never provide accurate information to almost anything. And I am not interested in getting region locked copies even though it is cheaper.

And you bought the game on certain app code of a game, I doubt publishers will change it after you had subscribed to that code. They cant just simply change it based on IP.

And a lot of newer games on preorder are not Cross Region Giftable.

Other stores like Green Man, GOG, Gamergate and Co should really start taking a leaf out from Steam. This is what fair regional pricing should be like.

Its simply unfair to price everything in USD across the world when the said region local currency and average income is so weak against the dollar the begin with.
*
I rather have GMG, GOG and GG using USD than RM.

If the government started to censor on games on Steam, there are still ways to get games legally.

not as cheap, but our copies still ROW while theirs are region locked
*
Better dont abuse as this will make all our steam games to be region locked eventually.

Whatever then, people will abuse this and this is why we can never have nice things.

should be region lock when adding to steam library only.
no region lock when playing. (got 2nd notice for that)
Notice: Purchases made in Malaysia can only be added to your library if you are in Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
*
Need to check with the Steam DB to confirm whether is the game also region lock when you want to play it.

Also, be careful when you buy retail games now. There are some Asian copies of some games that will be region locked like Borderlands Pre-Sequel Asia retail is region locked.

The new FF XV looks good. This is the first FF that I really want to play.

Region lock like how? I'm staying in Australia now (but returning to Msia end of next year) and I can want to make an order for the FF13 game. What if I suddenly can't play the game when I get back to Msia?? shocking.gif
*
If you buy from Australian Store, your games wont be region lock. They are paying so much now, so if you region lock, wont they butthurt even more?

The problem is when you are back in Malaysia where there might be games region locked in the future.

The Borderlands Pre-Sequel is region locked to certain countries when you want to play if you buy the Asian retail version. The Steam version is ok so far.

Yeah, it sucks to buy games from Steam if you are traveling. I am going to Australia too for further study or even PR.

Rm100 if I go out with my partner.

If sendiri, 1 MyBurgerLab around Rm25 is more than sufficient for me.  Furthermore, not all 3 meals needs to be expensive.
No need detach your aussie card, just to get kof to poison for you.
*
RM100 per outing. Maybe I should stay forever alone then. sweat.gif

On my own, usually, RM25 is enough. At worst case it is like RM40.

Unker Deimos Tel`Arin and unker Cheesenium. What's your verdict on Wasteland 2? Is it worth getting at  USD15? Extra copy from unkervenomancer
*
Sorry, Christy, I havent even start the game yet. Is it out yet?

Feedback so far is good, if you like Fallout 2, this game is for you.

Ohh, unker kof said you played it. Haha ok. Full release is in a few hours time, i believe. But I guess USD115 is good, compared to the price now at RM105
random: I'm thankful for the RM1 nasi lemak in the morning market at SS2. Buy 3 packets, 3 meals settled
*
Nola, I havent even start it as I am waiting for full release only dive in.

On the other hand, I kinda want to play Age of Wonders 3 though.

If I only have 3 packs of RM1 Nasi Lemak, I think i'll be hungry for the whole day. sweat.gif

Buy 10 packets still RM10 only, then buy drinks (e.g. soya milk RM1-3). Settle dy, whole day meal. Still less than RM15 per day  brows.gif
I normally buy nasi lemak and one huge packet of soya milk (home-made, also from the market. The stall quite famous). Can drink 3 cups at least. My meals for the day.  rclxm9.gif The extent an unemployed person will go  sweat.gif
*
I used to do that when I was in Australia. Except Nasi Lemak is replaced with Ham Cheese Croissants and soya milk replaced with coffee. And I was alive and kicking too, surprisingly despite I ate so little. laugh.gif

Might be unemployed soon so I will be doing the same too.

Ended up buying from him. Downloading it now  sweat.gif

Eh cannot target location? Though I saw a gameplay where the sniper did a headshot. Or only headshot and body shot, no localized damage on body parts?  hmm.gif  That sounds quite.. disappointing to me. But the choices definitely sound tempting
*
I think it is more on the story and the impact of the decision you made a while back. The writing should be quite good but I am not expecting amazing gameplay.

indeed.
but, but, errr
pillars of eternal also unity wor.
and shadowrun returns also unity, that one okay mah.
maybe because they fixed the isometric view, only let us zoom in and zoom out, no twist the camera.
this wasteland can twist the camera here and there.
*
No, PoE uses a heavily modified one where the background essentially is 2D. It is not full 3D like Wasteland 2.

I think Shadowrun also does similar technology as PoE and Torment so the plastic looking 3D models is reduced a lot.

I played a lot of Space Hulk, Unity's plastic like 3D models just doesnt go well with me.

oooo no wonder!
ya, the backgrounds in shadowrun returns is 2d drawn, very nice, so that's why we cannot rotate the camera around.
the character models are unity 3d though.
so, in pillars of eternity, it would like baldurs gate, we cannot rotate the camera hor?
okies last pic
*
I guess PoE, Torment will not have camera rotation.

They done that probably want to evoke the old classic CRPG feel in the game.
