rangeman gw9400 caught my attention seriously, but was then gave up hunting becoz of the price, not really need those function though (triple sensor) trust me bro, no regret picking the ga1000 series, big case, lume with neobrite, thermometer and compass, and more importantly the plane logo is rotate-able

yaya i got it, the digital window doesn't light up but nt a big issue to me la, btw, this ga1000 did surprise me with the lume duration, it was like 4-5 hours or maybe even longer than that lume duration which is far more better than my seiko watch     impressive, the glass used spherical glass too, which most of the other gshocks are just flatted

im interested in getting a g shock. i havent gone window shopping yet but i would want something all black...no other colours at all not even on the light button. matte if possible. max im willing to pay is RM500 but wont mind spending more if the watch is nice. 

any suggestions ?

True, it doesn't bother me either but with a price tag of RM500-600+  for a g shock watch it should do better than that.

The lume duration last long indeed. You dont even have to light it up to charge the lume,the sunlight always did the job for me whenever im outside wearing the watch 

I really like the window glass. It got this blueish tint under light which is cool    I saw some people say the window is made of spherical glass, some say mineral glass. Which is right and are there differences ? 

Also i think watches should have their own screen protector sold separately as im always scared of scratching my ga 1000 window  haha.

1 question, what does the DST meaning? I know is a day light saving but when I ON it how come my time become extra an hour ? When off it then my time resume back to normal...

altimeter i dont use la, mostly for those ppl who go hiking /  mountain climbing.
i use the barometer and compass more.
cheapest protrek is the PRG270 la, best value protrek right now also...rm400-500 can get.

GA1000FC-1A never realize that this whole black model (the plane logo is black too) is the metal band strap u mentioned, no wonder the price bumps up to rm799 compare to normal ga1000

yesterday i accompany a fren buying his 1st watch, not gshock but seiko la, he asked the same question as yours, will the condition of watches get affected becoz of exposure to light and heat, but no worries la actually, for most of the gshock model is tough enough, there's the selling point of gshock bro, may i knw your location? perhaps u can try search for g factory if your area is selangor or KL...

GA-1000 only comes in FC ver. not stainless steel band/strap.
GA-1000FC-1A, all black. FC stands for fiber composite band iianm.

look at the prefix at the back of the model e.g:

GA-1000FC-1A, FC band instead of normal resin band

GW-A1000D-1A, stainless steel band
