same taste as mine, i prefer black matte all the time than those glossy black sweat.gif  there are a lot suggestion don't worry

GA300-1A this model was owned by one of our member here recently laugh.gif
GR8900A-1 this one with tough solar, i owned the white version, personally feel that only black gshock can represent the toughness
GA310-1A
GA110GB-1 hot sales model but glossy
GA110-1B black stellar
GA110RG-1A i tested this before, don't worry bout the rose gold, it doesn't look sharp at all

anyway, u can still choose those you want, all the above i researched recently (black color of course) which are my favourite biggrin.gif

thanks for the suggestions. i'll check them out.

i went to the Casio international website n browsed a bit.

one model that caught my eye was GD-350-1B

the price is within your budget, maybe you can go watches shop to test out before buying, if price more or less below rm400 is acceptable...

"This new G-SHOCK is designed and engineered for those special dark, secret missions that demand something extra." your job quite dark ei bro brows.gif  brows.gif  got Men In Black feel laugh.gif
*

i see...your profile pic tell everything biggrin.gif gpeople is highly recommended by members here, or G factory? smile.gif  u can try negotiate with those shop actually, not necessary to buy online if you feel insecure bro...btw, so confirmed G350?  brows.gif  other models not interested? all below rm500
*
i guess my 1st choice is GD350. now reading reviews on watch forums n got some negative feedback about the feel of the buttons on the GD350. LED also too bright it seems.

over in the watch forum, G-7900 seems to be like god of g shock lidat LOL. n its cheap too but not all black.

i predict when i go browse at watch shop im gonna be in dilemma d.

no worries la, the purpose going shop is to test the gshock on your wrist, how it looks, how it feels... for g7900, personally i feel the 4 screw on top of the case spoiled the whole feel, still it's just my own preference la

one benefit from GD350 is the battery life, 5 years on CR2032, if you ask me which looks better between gd350 and g7900, gd350 ftw in terms of just "look" biggrin.gif I'm going to poison you with another one GW9400
*
exactly la the 4 screws in front just spoils d look of the 7900

GW9400 bit too flashy for me. im targeting models with uncoloured "G Shock" n "Protection".

how bout classic gshock DW5600
or this GA120-1A
ya right, the lume is so long lasting, of course manually off bro, if it can setting weekend off then it will be a smartwatch not a gshock anymore tongue.gif any chance of getting another new gshock ah bro? brows.gif
*
i was checking that 5600MS out last night online n its nice. but i wonder how clear is it IRL. coz fr pictures it doesn't look very clear.

GA-120-1A not for me...i want digital g shock.

i wonder if getting display model is ok...coz u know those small watch shops dun carry much stock...most of the time display model is d only one they have...after being exposed to all d lights n heat, will it affect the watch ?

yesterday i accompany a fren buying his 1st watch, not gshock but seiko la, he asked the same question as yours, will the condition of watches get affected becoz of exposure to light and heat, but no worries la actually, for most of the gshock model is tough enough, there's the selling point of gshock bro, may i knw your location? perhaps u can try search for g factory if your area is selangor or KL...
*
ok good to hear that. but i still hope to get one that is in d metal box...unwrapped n still covered in plastic

my location is kelana jaya. there is a g factory in paradigm mall. that will be d 1st place i will check out biggrin.gif

glad to hear that? btw, a bit confused now, which model u aimed now? give up yr gd350 d? lol biggrin.gif

p/s: all the gshock came with steel box bro, just that they have to unbox it to show to customer what model they have, basically all watches are new one no worries bro, i got your feeling, I'm those type that love to unbox every new stuff by myself biggrin.gif
*
glad coz im really particular about buying display models...not just watches. that being said all my watches were display models coz my dad's fren owns a small watch shop so whole family buys watches fr there.

so i have never had that satisfaction of slowly unboxing a watch b4.

im still aiming for the gd350. but im also keeping in mind GD-100-1B, DW5600MS (or other 5600 models) n maybe even d G7900. the GX56GB-1 also caught my eye but i reckon its gonna be too big n too expensive for me.

for some reason over at watchseek forum they keep raving about the G7900.

im just hoping that the GD350 is still available in the colour i want. it was released in early 2013 so might be a chance not many shops carry it anymore.

right now im actually trying to find my 1st g shock model. the outer shell broke apart a few yrs ago n i threw it away...imagine that man. im cursing myself for doing that.

if you wish to enjoy the unboxing process, buy online bro, at least by the time u received your parcel and the package is sealed (actually they ady opened to double check or even triple check before sending out tongue.gif lol )

so assuming that your wrist isn't that big eh? or u prefer smaller watch? based on my own experience and what the watches shop owner told me last night, 10 out of 10 customer bought their 1st watch claiming that their wrist is small and not wish to wear big case watches, but for the 2nd watch, they all wanted bigger one, but still there are some "unique" ppl prefer small la, not to say dun hv at all

based on the model u mentioned, i'll prefer either GX56GB-1 or GD100-1B, GX56 is definitely bigger with 55x53mm, but gshocks are the bigger the better for men biggrin.gif  or with your budget you may grab two of them together perhaps rclxms.gif
*
my wrist size is about 7 inches. i dun mind a big watch, its just that i dowan oversize one...mainly coz it'll end up getting scratched. i think most models im ok with the size. but i'll avoid those extra large size ones. but i still wanna try on the King GX56 tho LOL.

nah im getting one 1st. den see how it goes. my last g shock was a model called DW-003C-8T. got it as a bday present back in 1998. cost RM400+

user posted image

i liked it but it was hard to maintain bcoz of the white fabric band.

after that i found another g shock in a cab. but neva really wore it. cant remember d model. it was black with red buttons. similar to 7900 in terms of looks but with less functions. a few yrs ago i took it out n wanted to start wearing it but the whole outer shell disintegrated when it washed it with water. broke into pieces really.

go get it bro, i got attracted by GX56 as well, will definitely pick one classic look gshock as well, either the 5600 or this one
personally feel that gshock is tougher with resin band, not really into fabric strap, i guessed teh gx56 cost around rm3xx-4xx eh? managed to find any?

just guessing la, this model is the one u found broken? GWM530A or this one? DW6900
go for tis one bro, GW9400 drool.gif
*
1st things 1st wanna get the GD350...it was love at 1st sight LOL. after that i will get one basic/classic model. it will probably be the G7900. so many raves about 7900 over at watchuseek forum that im curious to see wats d big deal.

i think d model i found in d cab was a DW6900. it might be fake or maybe d band was fake...as d band buckle was gold in colour.

despite my interest i havent gone to any watch shops yet. mainly coz its a long weekend n malls gonna be packed with ppl. i wanna take my time looking n trying Gs. n not having to move aside every 30 seconds LOL.

i gather G Factory is d best place for browsing for Gs ?

Is pertama complex an ok place to get g shocks ? cos my dad knows a guy there n whole family been buying watches fr him since the 80s.

where got watchuseek raving over 7900?
which thread are u in? i see first page got gulfmaster, rangeman, gx56, 6900 tongue.gif
*
cant remember specifically which threads but the general consensus from posts and threads i read thru seems to indicate that G7900 is a good model to start with, decent price n solid design.

depends la, for me i find the tide graph on 7900 abit useless as i dont need it.
best basic models to start with are still 5600 and 6900.
the new gd400 also not bad.
*
i dun really like d designs of the 5600 n 6900. although the MS version looks quite cool. any idea how clear d MS displays r of those 2 models in real life ?

GD400 looks good...except for the metal protectors. i reckon after some use, the paint on those protectors r gonna get scratched off.

negative display is not a problem for reading the time in the day.
at night can always activate Auto EL.
only model i feel negative display got problem is on rangeman...basically harder to read the barometer graph...time still easy to read.

alright thanks 4 d info.

btw is Pertama Complex a good place to buy G Shocks ?

the gold buckle doesn't mean it's a fake set bro, some models does have gold buckle like the GA110GB
go for both GD350 or GX56 is a good choice, how g7900 attracted u bro seriously?  CNY is coming soon, weekend sure traffic jam, even small city like seremban also jam like rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  i personally feel that g-factory is the best la, at least most of the typical model they have...i'm eyeing on gx56 as welll....KING of Gshock drool.gif
*
i think i kena influenced by the watchuseek forum ppl. d more i look at the G7900 the more im liking it LOL. but my opinion might change once i go test it

i heard g factory prices cannot bargain wan rite ?

What causes the gshock bezel to tear? Everyone who wear gshock for many years is facing this problem.

happened to mine also. almost exactly like in ur pic.

mine i wore it almost daily for 3-4 yrs. i cleaned it often too. took real good care of it. i bought another watch so d g shock went into the drawer n stayed there for many yrs. about 2 yrs ago i took it out n wanted to wear it again. it was a lil dusty so i washed it with water. the moment i rubbed the watch with my fingers it all fell apart d.

i read on watchuseek forum that it disintegrates because of exposure to acidic sweat.
