From your screenshot, looks like it is not Philz CWM recovery, might be old version of CWM or stock samsung recovery. Can you explain what is your steps from the beginning? So we can trace back which part that sux u up

Download this : BetterBatteryStats v2.0 [Google Drive]

Download and install BetterBatteryStats above, install, when you open it the first time it will prompt to install as System app, just proceed and Reboot.

Once you installed the apps above, let your phone idle for as long as you can, overnight is better. Then after long hours, open the app and check all pages for wakelocks or any.

In my assumptions, this could be:

1)Phone wakelocks
2)Wifi wakelocks
3)Google Play Service

Have you tried playing with Privacy Guard?

Hi bro, below is the betterbattstat screenshot after overnight sleep.

Damn bad the batt consumption

Sunday night I tried reboot the phone and let it sleep overnight, just -5% over same period. So i can say reboot, sleep, better battery, if continuous use without reboot, bad battery consumption in sleep.

Anyway, carbon ROM is missing long press home button to see the background program, isn't it?

Thats not that bad either. I can see Google Play Services as one of the culprit. I need screenshot from Partial Wakelocks and Kernel Wakelocks page. Can you produce that?

I assume you area have bad reception?

Hi, thats is very bad if i compare to TW ori/custom rom. Stock TW ROM only consume 5% battery in same sleep time with all the Sammy junk inside, after cleaned some of it, consume only 4%. Prism Barebone TW ROM lagi excellent, consume 3% only in 8-9h sleep. Maybe this is not Carbon problem but is actually CM11 problem, i tested 2 CM11 ROM, carbon, CMGear, all eat battery like no tmr in sleep mode. All sleep mode i said is under same bed room, so the reception shouldn't be the culprit. I even tried to put in aeroplane mode, outcome still the same.

Its the CM11 yeah, mostly comes from Google Play Services, take a look at your screenshot previously, GPS is waking up the phone pretty frequent.

Use Privacy Guard to disable Wakeup and Keep Awake permission. Honestly speaking, we dont usually get a direct good outcome when flashing CM/Custom rom. Me myself too always linger with Google Play Service/Framework to improvised battery consumption during deep sleep.

Quite weird, some guys managed to follow them and success but some are not.

Try re-install CWM again without root. After flash CWM in Odin, boot up and go to Play Store, instal Quick Boot.
Then open the App and apply Reboot to Recovery

Hey guys, need some guidance.

Will it work?
I have a phone rooted long back at 4.2.2. I did not flash a custom recovery, as well as ROM. Now I want to flash some ROMs and some ROMs need fixed or latest firmware.

Can I flash any ROM without specification on firmware, to 4.4.x first then to the ROM that has specification on firmware version or do I need to unroot and update firmware first?

I remember vaguely, I could just flash any ROM on my HTC Desire to "Upgrade" the firmware. And make it one of the first Gingerbread Desire before HTC decided to push theirs. Can I do that on Samsung GS4, taking into consideration of those Baseband or Build numbers?

tl;dr : Simply put, is there any ROMs I can "borrow" to flash it to 4.4.x from 4.2.2 so that my "firmware" is updated which translates to me flashing another ROM that specifically stated it needs 4.4.x and above firmware?

Thanks.

It's great to have the old 4.2.2 stock firmware because this has the old pre-Knox bootloader, you can root and flash as you desire and you won't trip the Knox e-fuse. I have an I9500 with 4.2.2 stock as well, and have flashed 4.4.2 stock-based ROMs like Uncharted and MIUI ROMs (forgot the Android version).

You should be able to flash any 4.4.x custom ROM and then proceed to other ROM which requires 4.4.x. I have not tried any ROM which has firmware requirements, though. Which ROM are you looking at?

The MIUI Port by Narutos.

Perhaps it's time to move on from MIUI but I really wanted to try one last time how good it works on this phone. (used to be a beast in my Desire).

His first line goes "Make sure you have the latest firmware".

While it might be great to have a pre-Knox, if I flash any 4.4.x it'll be Knox no?

What ROMs do not require firmware?

PAC? Paranoid? CM10?

And thanks for the reply. notworthy.gif
