QUOTE(wajahebat @ Nov 3 2014, 11:29 AM) Flash the latest Philz CWM first, recommended to use Philz version, it is more proper and advanced, also safe. Thanks bro.Rather than using pure CM11, can try Carbon-Rom (Easy to use-rom), or Nameless Rom (Yet the best for me) Is this latest Philz CWM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2280457 |

QUOTE(nasrulafiq93 @ Nov 3 2014, 12:54 PM) I'd recommend using OzcanRom if you're OK with touchwiz. It is based on the latest Russian firmware. Pretty good IMO. Because the camera app is so much functional and better than the AOSP's. I actually bored of using Ori Touchwiz....honestly i never use more than half of the Samsung functionality. Yeah just that i wonder custom ROM camera is it good or not.Flashing AOSP means u lost more than half the functionalities of what the S4 is capable of. I just want something that i will feel 'new' and 'fresh' with it. This post has been edited by coolkwc: Nov 3 2014, 05:42 PM |

Anyway, can we release the 'hidden' internal flash space after we flash to custom ROM? Now i saw stock ROM useable space max is 8.9GB over 16GB, which i felt cheated.

QUOTE(wajahebat @ Nov 4 2014, 11:00 AM) But i like how AOKP arrange their features, the way it looks simple and tidy, but yeah less people used it nowadays. Carbon rom the simplest AOSP for me yet. Not soo simple but pack with features. Lacks of app circle only Ya, true, the flash process is just a blink. Just made a backup of the TW and flash everything. The main problem is i need data to download all those ROM, 1 ROM = 200MB, 1GB max only can get 5 ROMs...Yesterday i already downloaded 2 The only Touchwiz custom rom that i can recommend is Hyper4m & OzcanRom. Hyper4m the best ive ever used, very lightweight and battery friendly but seems that its dev already cabut lari, no more updates since June i think. At last im stuck with OzcanRom, quite okay, smooth and battery friendly like Hyper4m. Haha, nevermind bro. Explore yourself, it is fun to flash everything. |

The carbon rom quite bad in terms of battery drain imo. Drained 9% in 4hours in sleep mode..

QUOTE(wajahebat @ Nov 9 2014, 01:44 PM) You need to fully utilize the root permission. Privacy Guard > Greenify > Disable Services Hi bro, my rom is freah install without any aftermarket apps install yet, and is fully idle (from the battery log there is no single awake in 4hours time), but it drained 9% in just 4hours, far more worst than stock rom,so i doubt greenify can help here...anyway i will try out...Once you flashed through Odin, your phone is back to factory settings. Yes need to re-root again. This post has been edited by coolkwc: Nov 9 2014, 05:32 PM |

QUOTE(wajahebat @ Nov 9 2014, 08:14 PM) Download this : BetterBatteryStats v2.0 [Google Drive] Hi bro, below is the betterbattstat screenshot after overnight sleep.Download and install BetterBatteryStats above, install, when you open it the first time it will prompt to install as System app, just proceed and Reboot. Once you installed the apps above, let your phone idle for as long as you can, overnight is better. Then after long hours, open the app and check all pages for wakelocks or any. In my assumptions, this could be: 1)Phone wakelocks 2)Wifi wakelocks 3)Google Play Service Have you tried playing with Privacy Guard? Damn bad the batt consumption Sunday night I tried reboot the phone and let it sleep overnight, just -5% over same period. So i can say reboot, sleep, better battery, if continuous use without reboot, bad battery consumption in sleep. Anyway, carbon ROM is missing long press home button to see the background program, isn't it? |

QUOTE(wajahebat @ Nov 11 2014, 10:35 AM) Thats not that bad either. I can see Google Play Services as one of the culprit. I need screenshot from Partial Wakelocks and Kernel Wakelocks page. Can you produce that? Hi, thats is very bad if i compare to TW ori/custom rom. Stock TW ROM only consume 5% battery in same sleep time with all the Sammy junk inside, after cleaned some of it, consume only 4%. Prism Barebone TW ROM lagi excellent, consume 3% only in 8-9h sleep. Maybe this is not Carbon problem but is actually CM11 problem, i tested 2 CM11 ROM, carbon, CMGear, all eat battery like no tmr in sleep mode. All sleep mode i said is under same bed room, so the reception shouldn't be the culprit. I even tried to put in aeroplane mode, outcome still the same.I assume you area have bad reception? |

QUOTE(wajahebat @ Nov 11 2014, 11:47 AM) Its the CM11 yeah, mostly comes from Google Play Services, take a look at your screenshot previously, GPS is waking up the phone pretty frequent. Follow the part 2 of the tutorial, battery drain at its worst condition: 100% wakelock and drained by copresGcore_EventLoop wakelock, battery log 100% wakeup can't deep sleep at all. Gonna reverse the process to see.Use Privacy Guard to disable Wakeup and Keep Awake permission. Honestly speaking, we dont usually get a direct good outcome when flashing CM/Custom rom. Me myself too always linger with Google Play Service/Framework to improvised battery consumption during deep sleep. Check part 2 of this tutorial : http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-on...attery-t2832525 |

QUOTE(wajahebat @ Nov 12 2014, 09:51 AM) I think ive given you the OPO thread. This one is specific for S4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357417 Tried that, now my battery drain in deep sleep is unbelievable -0.2%/h... But even when u compare those two links, it is cross device compatible |

Hi, has anyone of carbon rom user notice that the battery % will gone up from last used status. This morning my phone is @ 95% @ 8am, now 9:30am it got 96%...seems like the ROM turn my battery into fuel cell that can regenerate electricity by its own.

Hi for those using custom rom (especially CM based), i got one camera apps to recommend, Open Camera, i found this camera functionality is definitely better than google camera and is on par with stock TW camera, even more function than that. ISO auto and manual from ISO 100 - 1600, flash mode (auto, on, off and bulb mode), focus mode (Fix, manual, macro and auto), white balance same as stock camera, and all the scene mode. few plus point over stock camera it support exposure lock, so you will no longer get a whole screen dark image due to a strong light spot in your scene(due to EV compensation), and live direction and angle on screen to tell you ur camera is perfectly horizontal or what...interface is very user friendly, all those setting i mentioned above are represented as small icon on screen, easy access. I'm really satisfy with it.

Just bought a Samsung Pro 64GB for my S4 today, but sadly the phone only max out read 50MB/s and write 21MB/s, despite the card spec suppose can reach R:90MB/s W:80MB/s.
