QUOTE(Jo@NJS @ Mar 5 2007, 11:17 AM)
any1 here service their car lately? I serviced mine 15K (Engine Oil + Filter) last Fri at Perringit and was told that I have to pay RM29++ for the oil filter for every 15K, 30K, 45K... I thought it is free all the while. WTF is this? Anyone can clarify?
*
please read your service booklet properly before jumping to conclusion. It also help to NOT make you look like a moron in front of the service advisor / techs at the SC.

They only replace the oil filter FOC if it's stated in the service booklet that they must change it at that specified service interval / mileage. Otherwise it's just written as check oil filter (what's there to check ??). So if you request them to change they change for you, otherwise if you stick exactly to the service booklet, it's FOC all the way. Except maybe they charge to replace the drain plug, which only cost a few ringgit.

transplant to a K20A (like those engine used by 2.0L Civic and Accord). With proper tuning it should produce about 220 hp. More then enough for a City.

However I heard the car is too dangerous to drive with it, since the chassis was never designed to use a 2.0L engine.

There is also an mini MPV like vehicle based on the L15A engine used in the Jazz and City. It's called the Airwave. I've only seen it once, a singapore registered car.

he bought a used car, so takes sometime to learn the functions of the car.
*
wtf (again).. simply whack buy and never research first ka.....

anyway, the immoblizer will prevent the engine from being started unless you disable it. So when u press the disarm buttom on the alarm, and insert the key this will disable the immobilizer and allow you to start the car.

So even if someone break into your car and disable your alarm, they still cannot start the engine without the proper key.

Don't ever lose your key, if you don't have a spare, you need an entire new alarm + immobilizer system.

You can lose the alarm fob, since that can easily be replace and reprogrammed, but you cannot make another key. Unless maybe you are a professional car thief working for an international car theft syndicate.

i'm vkool user.... should be vkool elite

my experience with smart tag is the detection range had decreased

u need to drive slower and coz quite near already only can detect

no such problem when i drive my wira ( ayam brand tint )

and my BATTERY  is still full....

also my house auto gate remote control also affected

but overall, vkool's heat rejection is awesome..  wub.gif
*
Talking about V-kool tinting, even GPS capability also affected. Tried it with the Nokia N95 which have GPS function, in the car it cannot get a lock with the GPS satellite signal, need to open window then can. But try with car without tinting it easily works.

Both the 3rd Gen and 4th Gen Honda City have the manual gear control on the steering. Left and right also same. No such thing as volume control.

Hmm... i wonder everytime u increase volume, the car go faster right. Yes ?
you lower volume your car go slower but your rpm goes up... ??? If yes, then dun tell anyone, Honda purposely designed ur car in a special why. It's secret Honda project. shhh....

Actually how can you guys understand what he is talking about, I don't even know what he's trying to say.

Anyway - Campro same HP with VTEC but VTEC has less HP loss due to its EPS biggrin.gif
*
EPS advantage is negligible... no need to even consider. It's not significant even if the other car using normal hydraulic.

The main power loss comes from the CVT. Even if you use the manual 7-speed mode, the power loss is tremendous.

How to reset ECU?
I'm going to try and reset CVT first... see if this makes any changes

RESET CVT MEMORY
a) Start the car till it's normal temp
b) Do not switch on your air-con, radio, and other electrical stuffs
c) Apply handbrake (throughout this whole procedure)
d) Apply footbrake (do not release)
e) Put your gear to N for 2 mins
f) After 2 mins, put your gear to D for 1 min

sweat.gif
*
to reset the ECU, the easiest way is to remove the fuse for the ECU. You can also disconnect the main battery.

QUOTE(Kagekiyo @ Aug 28 2007, 03:53 AM)
Another thing is, the City L15A engine is really sensitive. They have those aftermarket bolt-on turbos for it that costs around RM9-12k for the whole conversion process. Although theres no guarantee on whether the car's engine will blow up upon pressing the pedal. Haha.
*
for those planning turbocharging, the engine is the least of your worries, it's the CVT that will most likely kaput with the increased power.

Those City/Jazz in other countries are having normal auto or manual gearbox which will able to withstand the turbocharging.
