Not too sure bout the "chet chet" sound, but confirm got the steering vibration thingy. I've driven his car b4, and i've experienced it biggrin.gif

could be due to disc warp, or an unbalanced wheel..

fc is great for the city. get the idsl, imho best fc for the class, also the ultra seat is much better than the fixed seat of the vtec tongue.gif

forgotten what spoiler it was, but if not mistaken it's the stock spoiler with the leds removed and fibred up and then mounted on a higher metal base (like gt-wing).

didn't own one before, thus unsure how the fuel consumption is.. most of us are drive either the 3rd or 4th Generation City.

ops u're talking about the 1st gen city? then pls get the 1.5 and not the 1.3 cos 1.3 especially auto is underpower and the autobox is funky. fc is average.

QUOTE(Jackie Leong @ Nov 1 2006, 06:21 PM)
it happened quite a long while already.. when i brake harder than usual from high speed, the steering wheel will vibrate quite roughly.. i knew the rotors were warped, but no idea what caused them.. (and nope, i'm not dumb enuff to hose the damn brakes when it's hot, or wash my car when it's still hot!)

I paid a visit to another SC since Peringgit Auto did not want to repair my car (i made a list of things to repair, but most priority is on the brakes) on the eve of Deepavali with the reason that they just wanna service cars and get them on the road ASAP.

At the other SC, the rotors were taken out for skimming (quite a lot of skimming done).. and i was told that if it warped again, a claim has to be made.. no idea how the rotors warped unsure.gif

So the past 2-3 days, whenever i brake, the right side brakes make an audible "chet chet chet" sound at the same place at every revolution.. i wasn't sure if the brakepads were at fault, or the rotor this time around..

Maxis was shitty today (calls to SC keep getting d/c-ed after a while) so i drove to the SC to troubleshoot the matter.. they remove the brakepads to skim again.. then told me that my brakepads are gonna wear out soon and advice me to replace them.. oddly, i wasn't told about this when the rotors and pads were taken out for skimming and that it's a surprised that the pads worn out so quickly (usually lasts 40,000km, i'm 300km shy of 25,000km)

I spent more than half an hour there pondering whether to replace the brakepads or not (cuz obviously it is pricier than what i can get outside).. after a while, they then give me a good solution lo.. they'll make a claim for new set of rotors, and when the rotors are here, i'll buy new brakepads to be fitted to the rotors) biggrin.gif smile.gif

oh then i would say great! idsl - gives very good fc, the vtec gives good fc. so you cannot go wrong with either.

also features, interior design all better than others in the same class.

Canopies,
well this issue has been coming in and out again and again.

It would be better if you could read the whole thread carefully ... else it would be great if you could google it out or use the search feature ... its basically everywhere wink.gif

this would avoid further topics being repeated again and again lo ... Jackie also posted some information some pages back ...

From what i saw at the official Honda website, i think the Modulo bodykit for the 4th gen City is quite pricey. Plus, in my opinion, i don't really think they're all that nice! Haha. Although the ones for the new civic are okay but that's a separate discussion. The prices are as follows (for membership card holder):

Full Bodykit - Rm 5,180
and
Lower Front Skirt - Rm 1,280.
(These prices include installation and paintworks)

I wonder if they have such bodykits for the older, 3rd gen city or would it be wiser to invest in those bodykits offered by Mugen instead (btw, are they any cheaper than the Modulo ones?)?

Those offered by Honda are usually of better quality due to the material it's made of. The material is the same of those material used to make the bumpers. Also there were brackets to hold the bodykits on properly.

Those that we got outside are usually installed with double tapes and screwed on. However, if not mistaken.. Airmaster bodykits comes with the brackets.

guys why is the current city known as 4th gen? i thought it's the 2nd gen. the first one is the 1997 model which was facelift a few yrs later (the z-tec model), the next is the 2nd gen 2003 model which was facelifted to the current one. the 3rd gen should be the ALL NEW model in 2-3yrs time.
