From what i saw at the official Honda website, i think the Modulo bodykit for the 4th gen City is quite pricey. Plus, in my opinion, i don't really think they're all that nice! Haha. Although the ones for the new civic are okay but that's a separate discussion. The prices are as follows (for membership card holder):

Full Bodykit - Rm 5,180
and
Lower Front Skirt - Rm 1,280.
(These prices include installation and paintworks)

I wonder if they have such bodykits for the older, 3rd gen city or would it be wiser to invest in those bodykits offered by Mugen instead (btw, are they any cheaper than the Modulo ones?)?

Hey guys, i just came back from the Honda service center today and they told me it was about time for me to service my car's aircond. The funny thing is, my airconditioner hasn't been giving me any problems at all and it's still working fine and dandy. When i asked how much it would cost to 'service' my aircond, the SC person quoted me RM 1950. The strange thing is that i heard from a friend of mine that it will cost around Rm 1000 (which is still, quite costly for just a service). In addition, he told me it was more like changing the entire thing which explains the high cost.

I told the SC fella that i will wait to think about it.

Have any of you Honda City 3G's owners have serviced your airconditioner recently?

Hope to get some feedback. Thanks!

I go to the Honda Sc located in Puchong. It's right opposite that IOI shopping mall. Located behind the apartment, Sutramas.

Yeah, i couldn't believe it at first at what i was hearing but yeah, i don't think i'd be spending THAT much anytime soon.

My Honda city is the tail end batch of year 2004. It's a 3rd Gen Vtec. It's been 2 years, almost.

As mentioned, 2k can buy you a whole load of stuff for the car.

I don't really know of any other car shops who specialise in aircond servicing. I can't bring myself to trust 3rd parties who claim 'they know it all'.

What say you guys?

Hey unitron, which SC did you send your city for servicing your aircond? Mind to share?

Rm 100 is way cheaper than the 2k quoted to me. LOL

Luckily for me, my car hasn't suffered from that strange odour coming out of the aircond that most Honda cars are experiencing (more so, now). I guess i'm sorta lucky. biggrin.gif

LOL, i think that is definately a photoshop job done badly (well, okay, not THAT bad but not in a very convincing manner).

If i'm not mistakened, that picture must've been taken around the Sunway College area where all those car workshops are based at. The back of the shoplots look faintly familiar. Sometimes i park my car there if i don't stand a chance to find parking in that choatic place.

I believe that if you do want to hear the sound of VTEC pushing the car along, i would suggest you push your dear car to anything above 4500 RPMs. Around the speed of 140 - 160km, your RPM meter will probably be hovering between 3000-4000 RPMs. Go anything higher than 4500 RPMs and off your mp3 player. Using the 7-speed mode is recommended since it allows you to rev at higher RPMs.

Then again, be careful and don't end up killing yourself. Safety first.

Don't you just hate it when you've got that wind noise/airplane noise when going above 120km?

Btw, i'm driving a 3rd Gen Vtec.

Speaking of the ABS kicking in, doesn't the stock suspension settings also contribute to the hard bumpy feeling? Our City's settings is pretty hard afterall.

Oh yes, i would like to bring up something i have encountered 2 days ago with my 3rd gen Vtec city.

I noticed that whenever the car is immobile(meaning, you just just got into the car and started the engine), when i depress the brake pedal to shift the gearbox handle from P to D, i hear a 'creaking' noise coming from the gearbox before i shift the gear to D. However, when lets say, i'm in N or R mode, and would like to shift to D mode, there isn't any sound. ONLY except for when i start from P onwards to R or D.

To further explain, the sound goes like a soft, 'tak tak tak' everytime i press the brake.

I would like to know if anyone of you guys have encountered this problem as i am very concerned about this 'creaking' noise coming out from my gearbox whenever i press the Brake pedal when the car is motionless.

Care to dispense any advice guys? Thanks!

Is that the sound where the car will automatically lock your doors?
Oh man, that's bad. What actually happen? Why don't you just go to a Honda service center?
*
Sorry bro, but no, its not the 'tak' sound that you hear when your doors lock. The doors only lock automatically when you go above 20km/hr.

As for my case, i'm talking about as when my car is completely motionless and when i'm about to shift to D from P, i'll hear that 'tak' sound when i depress the brake pedal.

I'm kinda worried. sad.gif

That's weird. sweat.gif
When did you last change the CVTF?
Maybe it's time to change?

I believed the last time i changed the fluid was about 2 months ago during my previous car servicing.

Anyways, since i don't really think anyone here is encountering this problem as i am, i will go to the SC ASAP to address this matter.

I hope its not serious.

Well, as for me and my 2004 Vtec, i usually get around 350km for RM 50 of petrol.

Pretty good, i must say, since i always have a tendency to rev alot beyond the 2500 rpm meter.

The thing is, for my Vtec, its engine mileage is already 67k and i'm still kinda suprised how i can squeeze that much mileage with just my normal RM 50 pumps at the nearby Mobile station. I just recently did my 65k mileage servicing though.

My car's still a stock VTEC(15 inch rims), btw as i don't plan to mod it since i'll making a switch to something BIGGER soon.

Kelv, i guess you would have to wait till your I-DSI goes beyond 10k mileage before you see noticeable improvement in your FC. Otherwise, i think its probably because you have a heavy foot?

neato4u, as the others here pointed out, i believe you should bring your I-DSI to the Honda SC to check up on your car. RM 50 for just a measly 264km is totally crap and unacceptable.

Another thing is, the City L15A engine is really sensitive. They have those aftermarket bolt-on turbos for it that costs around RM9-12k for the whole conversion process. Although theres no guarantee on whether the car's engine will blow up upon pressing the pedal. Haha.

The 'facelifted' City looks like the same old thing like before.

Read it up here:

Hey mydesol, could you share with us what the SC people said about the ball bearing that caused the 'airplane sound'?

I presume most owners here experience the same problem when they tend to go beyond 90km/hr++.
