Maybe not identical but should be pretty close. Anyway the SHU in promotion at Giant for under rm100 is an unbeatable value for money. You won't be able to get the Pennzoil version or any other oils with that level of performance at such low price, they will typically sell for almost double or even more.

Recent review of SHU 5w-40 purchase on Shopee Tesco showed 'Made in Hong Kong'.

Safe to assume SHU made in Hong Kong also original.

Guys wanna ask anyone bought from this Shopee seller before? Legit original stuff? Super cheap he's selling man.

The only online oil purchase I dare to try was only from Vanli. I don't dare to try other sellers cuz no idea if genuine or not. With Giant already giving such good promotions, I don't feel the need to buy online oils at all.

Oh ya i forgot to mention. No giant nearby my area, and both Tesco and Aeon do not carry SHU. sadly.

Update : Got my oil from Vanli, and just poured. I can't say much about the oil. Aside from... it just works. Haha, Maybe gotta drive it for a bit more.

Cheap, economical, can't argue with the price. =) Might try other brands in the future like Amsoil, Redline and stuff. Those barang2 performance.

Thanks all for replying

On my Exora Turbo , the manual says 10W30 is acceptable. There is a 5w20 temperature chart but its max temp is below 20C.
So I have taken a bold step on going on 0w20. Mizu 0w20.
Yes, I have gone into unchartered waters.

No oil consumption so far. Bottle even says its suitable for turbo.
But does it improve FC? Probably very minor improvement.
Do I recommend it? Depends on how well one trust the 0w20 thin oil in a hot turbo engine.
Reason I go thin is because the car is driven short distance frequently.
And yes, nobody likes a thirsty engine. Mine did rocket to a thirsty 14.5L per 100KM, but thats when I found out the MAF sensor is dirty.

I also monitor the water temperature via Torque, it doesnt show any abnormal temp.
Usually around 84-86C with Aircond on, and 90C plus with aircond off.

So those who frequently drive like a maniac , might want to stick back to xW30 weight.

Its so funny right? I've also heard of CPS owners pouring xw-30s in their car because their manual calls for it. But how come Proton gives such ridiculous weight a.k.a xw-50 for the original campros!? The weight difference is significantly absurd while only being 1 generation apart.

I was sceptical to pour 30 weight because I was following the owner's manual faithfully. But after hearing other campros like the cps, and your cfe, accepting thinner oils without issues, makes me abit more confident to do 30 weight next service. I mainly do short distance driving, only occasionally highway drive.

Anyway, will I expect a quieter engine if I switch to thinner oil?

If die die want to maintain at spec of 40  weight oil, but wanna get a taste of how a 30 weight might behave in your "dinosaur" engine? Get the imported SHU 5W-40 from nearby Tesco/Giant la....... it has a published viscosity of almost 30 weight @12.9 cst but still within the spec of 40 weight oil. I think it should satisfy you curiosity. Just monitor the oil consumption and/or any leak due to the added detergency if your engine is not in very good condition.

Yup using that now. So far so good. No issues at all. If i got extra money to splurge next service, might go for Redline oils hahaha or maybe syntium 7000

For now, SHU remains mine (and most people's) strong budget oil. Honestly cannot go wrong with this.

Speaking from someone using w30 most of the time but try out w40, if you use w30 you may feel the engine doesn't work as hard when you step on the pedal. More quieter or not, not so sure.
*
I think you're right guys. I've been driving with SHU for quite awhile now, and all I can say is "WOW". I never felt my car behave like that before. Literally more "ringan" on the pedal feel.

Throughout the entire ownership of this car, using w-40 oils before this never ever gave me this feeling before. Like bro @speedy3210 said, the SHU has the characteristics of a w-30 oil while still maintaining the w-40 status. Maybe that's the reason why la... So far no oil consumption to report. Fuel consumption perhaps the same, I not sure cuz its MCO, seldom drive.

Lastly, engine is not as rough. Sounds quieter too. Over 3 years owning this car with more than x amount of oil changes, this is the first time I'm saying this. *Surprise* *surprise* Heck, never said anything like it for oils I've previously tried.

Anyway, perhaps next service can straight try w-30 oils la. Suddenly feeling adventurous. thumbup.gif

The campro is a dinosaur engine.. best you maintain using the 40 weight oil lor.

@Thrust, ya guess will be maintaining the 40 weight then. probably not worthwhile to risk it, but will try @Jay Chua's suggestion.

@Jay Chua bro, any good 0w-40 to recommend? Or use back SHU? Hahaha, I think Shell also got one line called Shell Helix Power, that one damn expensive. 0W-40 grade also.
