Errrr guys... Question here...
I always use my ride for long distance travel and now I have to travel all the way up to Penang. Does 0w-40 cut it?? I'm afraid the oil too thin d. Plus summore we driving during hot weather on the highway. Thats very harsh on our engine. I'm looking for an oil that protects really well for the time being. Occasional high-rev weekend ke. Brands Im looking at -Amsoil -Redline (ESTER-R-R-R-R-R-R) Have any other oils to recommend? Please do!! Hey guys, I used to use expensive EO.
Torco, Redline etc.. Now budget tight tight d.. My ride begging me for oil change. Thinking to get any reasonable priced FS oil liao. The first big 4 brands comes to mind, -Castrol EDGE -Mobil 1 (IDK this one, never used before) -Petronas Syntium 3000 -Motul H-Tech Heeeellpp? |

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Mar 22 2016, 03:32 PM) This budget, is it all inclusive and for how many liters of oil? Coz if rm200-250/4ltr bottle then this is still very high budget la! Haha actually inclusive oil filter d and labour charge everything. Liqui Moly nvr try before ohh.. My campro engine runs super hot. Most campros run very hot. Amsoil how much ar per 4 ltr |

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Mar 23 2016, 09:52 AM) Hmm if Campro then only need no more than 4 ltrs right? Bro How abouts liqui moly mos2 10-40?Oil filter is only about rm20-25, labor max rm20, so that left the oil price about max rm150/4ltr. In that case just use the Mitsubishi 5W40 FS made by Eneos, good enough la for your Campro engine, no need expensive ones like Amsoil or Liqui Moly etc2. Amsoil already about rm210-250/4ltr for the oil price only. Any reviews for that? High rev / highway drive / stop n go traffic. All these done 60% on hot afternoon |

QUOTE(izso @ Apr 11 2016, 03:05 PM) Personally, I'd consider a different oil and improve on your cooling system, ie-better coolant, confirm fan is working fine, confirm radiator cap is working fine, check thermostat, confirm the condenser in the front isn't clogged causing the airflow to be restricted to the radiator, that sorta thing. Just changed the coolant, Im using Toyota LongLife. A new radiator Cap, because my old ones clogged up. Not sure the thermostat since i havent checked that. Im running a biiiiiiiiiiiit higher compression in my engine. Oil cooler isn't necessary unless your car is always on track. Alu rads are overkill too unless your current one is spoilt and you're just looking for an excuse to change it to Alu, then fine. Otherwise unnecessary money. And I said it seems a little hot. Still within normal parameters. Despite what quazacolt said, 120 is too hot for your car unless you're running on high compression or turbo setup and all that good stuff. As long as it stays between 80 to 110 thereabouts you're fine la. Besides, your temp sensor could be inaccurate. I guess my engine oil is in great shape la. Maybe I change to low-temp thermo and see how. |

Hi, just wanna confirm with sifus2 here.
Is Pennzoil = Shell Helix? Cuz I see both also using this "PurePlus Technology" thingy. So kinda guessed, or I'm wrong. Anyway, Im on the crossroads of picking Petronas Syntium 5W-40 or the Shell counterpart. Using the notoriously thirsty Campro engine. Or do you guys got any recommendation? I'm open to all / any engine oil, janji original and good. Thanks all~ |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ May 16 2021, 06:33 AM) only parallel imported Pennzoil with pure plus = shell helix ultra with pure plus you can find those at Ace hardware or parallel importers local UMW pennzoil is just normal locally blend non GTL (gas to liquid, pure plus is the marketed name) QUOTE(ayamxxx @ May 16 2021, 09:15 AM) This. Buy those Pennzoil imported from US, someone sold it in Lazada, shopee. On of the Fully synthetic Pennzoil Ultra Platinum was reviewed as on of the best. And agreed the local blend Pennzoil is not the same as imported from US. QUOTE(ayamxxx @ May 16 2021, 09:17 AM) Try lower down the viscosity. Is campro engine capable to take 5w30 or 0w30? If can believe it will improve the fc a bit. Most new car since 2015 onwards was recommended with 0w20 to get better fc. @QuazacoltBut using office Campro CFE engine, yes fc is too poor especially on daily city drive. I see I see. Parallel Importers meaning like Tesco / Giant as often mentioned here? Btw, I never known that Pennzoil is sold here locally. Probably didn't come across official distributer in Malaysia yet. Always bought my oil from SC or Petrol Station nearby. But figured out its literally burning a hole in my pocket. @ayamxxx Can you forward me the seller's Lazada link here or PM? Scared of fakies around the market. Thanks man appreciate it! But if its equivalent to the Shell Helix Ultra that is often mentioned here then I'd probably go get the Shell. On the other note, nope, the Campros you mentioned are those post-09's 10's and so on one. Mine is the base, most basic Campro model a.k.a the baseline "out-dated" Campro. As per manual, it says to take 15w-50. God knows why. But i've used 5w-40 with no issues never tried the 5w-30 before. Scared to go too thin, as you know, Campro.... |

QUOTE(alexei @ May 17 2021, 02:56 PM) Shell owns the Pennzoil company. I see I see. Shell launched the PurePlus in 2014 under its portfolio, but Pennzoil first used it in their Platinum line. Meaning to say that, they both share the same tech, and essentially buying Shell Helix Ultra, is like buying the Pennzoil Ultra with Pureplus la. Can I dare say they are the same oils and perform the same too? Since, Shell is parent company to Pennzoil ma. |
