Manual recommend 0w30 or 5w30. Was thinking to try 5w40 instead. Lets see how

I am interested to know too as recently I bought a Mobil 1 5W-30 fully synthetic which I think was american stock. any expert care to share?

would like to get some advice from sifu here about changing the type of engine oil for my exora CPS (105K mileage. 7 years).

currently is using Shell Helix H7 semi synth 10-40W, plan to change to Castrol Edge Fully synth 5W-40.

usage of the my car
1. muse as student transporter car, hence several times (6 to 8 times) of on/off engine per day
2. 90% city drive
3. monthly mileage is around 3000Km
4. Reason to change to fully synth is becoz sometimes i could feel the car a bit sluggish. so i drive to have a better driving experience. ( since the car is my cari makan tools, everytime i service my car as scheduled)
5. Reason to choose Castrol is becoz the workshop recommended by my friend only sell this brand....lol ( appreciate if sifu here can recommend other brand which is equivalently good)

Can sifu enlighten me about the pro and con about the change the oil
* higher price tag of fully synth oil compare with semi synth is acceptable for me.

Can use on Proton? Lol, or maybe go for Petronas EO. Bosch, Bardahl, Elf ok?

Anyone have experience with this oil? My workshop heavily promoting this nowadays.

Never try Motul 4100 before but using H-Tech 100 Plus so far so good, quiet and don't feel heavy.
