Been using the phone since August and so far so good. To be honest I dont think phone will just get spoiled easily and most of it are human mistakes and error such like screen shatters or drop into your toilet bowl.

Thinking of switching over to hotlink to enjoy the 4G speed, since maxis LTE coverage looks better than celcom. Like my area in bangsar, celcom only has LTE at jalan telawi area only sweat.gif

U wan LTE for Maxis better go for Maxis One Postpaid, Hotlink not worth it since 4G connection will consume a lot of data very fast. The moment u blink, ur quota gone dee ... hehehe ...  tongue.gif

I dont actually consume alot, so the one plan 2gb quota is basically a waste to me. Wifi is available at home and work place so data is only use when I outside and usually for browsing usage. I hardly stream videos when on data. Data consumption is base on your usage, not how fast the data speed is.

Am I missing something? Googled and kinda hard to find the news on the flagship Z7. Delays? Any problematic news? anyone?

The flagship Z7 just available for purchase a week or 2 ago only, and for the price tag it carries, I think majority will just get max and mini smile.gif

The partitioning guide has already been available for quite awhile in nubia forum, which requires one to able read chinese, since its a chinese forum

http://bbs.nubia.cn/thread-224666-1-1.html

And 1.59 updates is already available for z7 max, which could be download from link below, with password 04qb. The firmware is not yet available at nubia site though

Kewl, thanks bro sinperwolf for the explanation. Have already done the repartitioning yesterday. Although during flashing the file it returned with an error, but after rebooting, the ROM space are indeed repartitioned. I am now getting 6.2GB space for sys storage and my internal SD is now 20GB. Now no need to worry about running out of space for the time being. BTW, anyone installed the v1.59 yet?

Update : Tried to download the v1.59 but was informed that it is a beta release. However, the link given need to install Baidu Cloud Butler first then only can proceed to download the file. Keeps trying to download Cloud Butler with no success (always getting network error). Is there any direct link I can use?
*
The link should be able to download directly without additional installation, but I personally haven't try it out yet as well.

I still ok with the default partitioning since didn't throw a lot stuff into my phone. I think many will appreciate if you could provide a English step by step guide for it, since I think a lot can't read Chinese here. Could ask TS to pin at 1st post as well

Thanks petrofsky77 for his guide, which is a much easier tasks compare to the default partitioning guide which involving tools such like paragon partition manager. Just flash the configured zip package will do. Down side would be cant manually adjust the partition space as you like but I guess 6gb should be more than enough for everyone already as system storage

What I did was:
1) Flash repart.zip
2) Flash repart-store.zip
3) Flash repart.zip again.

However, I lost my WiFi & Bluetooth functions. Glad managed to recover them back via ADB commands.
*
So the 1st flash failed la since you need to flash the restore.zip. Since the wifi and bt problem had been solved, then its should be good enough.

ZTE already had smart band quite some time, which is known as grand band. Just that it doesnt come with call feature.

Well there actually quite a number of dual sim lte phones available, which majority are limited to gsm only for sim 2, not as flexible as what zte offer with their nubia z7 series and the new v5s and v5 max. The other new phone which both sim 4G I know of is Jiayu S3

I personally had bought more than 10 smartphone from china directly, so far havent had any problem with local custom yet. As for declaration part, its all handle by my agent, without me worrying much on it and only cost 5% extra of the goods price. As for product genuinity, there wont be any problem since its either directly from official site or reputable channel such like jd.com, which I gotten mine from jd.com

As for the most idiot proof way to flash gapps without rooting, just use 1 key recovery program. Download it from link below, make sure all your drivers are installed, connect your phone to pc and run the recovery program. You will see the command prompt interface as like in the screenshot, choose 4 to temporary boot into cwm chinese version and your phone will then reboot. If you cant read chinese, just look for the zip word and it shouldnt go wrong else where.

Don't wanna give wrong info.  icon_rolleyes.gif thx for clarifying. Any news on when will it arrive in Msia officially?

Basically dont dream nor hope, as the question had been tackle in zte malaysia fb when the z7 series launch last year. If want get your hands on nubia phone, buy oversea or ap unit is the only choice.

QUOTE(mhon.be @ Jan 11 2015, 06:16 PM)
Hello all,

I recently purchased a Z7 mini and now have 2 main issues with my phone

1. Nubia Contacts crashes
Whenever I press the #2 and #9 key in the dial pad, the Nubia Contact App crashes and I get an error message saying "Unfortunately, Nubia Contacts has stopped."

2. Frequent call drops
Whenever making a call or receiving a call, the call gets cut and a screen appears saying "out of service area".
It then prompts me to reenter both sim pins again. This problem can happen right after I try calling the person back.

Apart from the above mentioned issues, the phone is working perfect (4g, wifi, camera..etc)

Phone was bought from dialoghub few weeks ago, I returned to the shop after a few days after I bought it and they told me that it was a problem with the software. After waiting for 2 weeks, they returned the phone but the problem is still apparent (less frequent call drops compared to before).

Any Z7 Max/Mini users facing similar problems?
Anyone have and ideas on how I can fix this problem?

Thanks
*
At least not facing such problem with my dad mini. Maybe you could try reset back to factory default and apply the latest patch and check if the problem still exist.

Whats the problem with your dad's handset?
I have restored the phone twice and the problem still persists.
Nubia UI
v2.5.0

Build No
NX507J_CNCommon_V1.20

I have tried upgrading but always unsuccessful. (Download file OK but during installation it stops and has an error)
I have brought this up with the people at DialogHub but they have said that I cannot update the phone as I will lose all the Google Applications.

My last option will be to flash the phone (Custom ROM) to see if it was a software problem.
I have never flashed a custom ROM so can any sifu's out there help answer some of my questions below

Before rooting and flashing to a custom ROM is there a way to save an image of my existing ROM (without downloading the official ZTE ROM from the china website) in case I need to restore the phone for warranty purposes?

If there are any other methods for fixing this problem please let me know as I am out of options and desperate for help.

Thanks

No problem so far, as I know smile.gif

Hi sifu,
I try FOTA Online update .
able to download the file, but update failed..
Any sifu can teach  me to update?
*
Once your phone had been rooted or gapps installed, you wont be able to use the fota update anymore. Just go nubia site and download the full rom zip file and choose update by disk.
