For NFS gamers, we must drive F1 car in NFS style
and imagine sg. Cross is behind us, then we can push harder. |

I use to do that time with a Ferrari (brake button on MOMO era Last night, 1:37 Much worse now. But less pressure. Steering asst. OFF really makes you slow down. Also, I hate Sepang. very tricky corners. With SA OFF, easily spunned at turn 3. With cockpit view, so hard to see corners at turn 11. Also turn 12..need to brake when reacing half of the left side race line. Surely got last during quali I think car got faster since 2000. Maybe wheel not faster back then...it's just that you are not fast back then. Now, very fast and consistent. IMHO, tv cockpit and button for brakes...that's what makes keyboard players faster. When using tv cockpit, you can easily see the race line in the corner in front of you. Then you can easily brake. In a cockpit...I only depend on the 100M or 50M signs. If those signs gone...habislah Not trying to brag or anything, I did 1:22:5xx at Aussie with brake button on my MOMO. Now, nearly 1:30. This post has been edited by Raikkonen: Sep 7 2006, 01:18 PM |

Prinze,
got this from an author of F1 Driving Guide. QUOTE Cockpit view or TV-Camera style onboard view..? I use the standard cockpit view myself and most of the fastest drivers seem to use the same (though there are some exceptions). For me it's mainly down to realism (I want to feel as though I'm in the car), but it's also down to turn-in accuracy - although you can see more of the track and upcoming turns with the TV-Cam view I actually find the standard cockpit view much more accurate when it comes to choosing a turn-in point. So I will always use the cockpit view but I don't see anything wrong with people using the TV-Cam view in leagues etc - some people think the TV-Cam view gives an advantage as it is higher up but I've tested both and I didn't notice much difference in the lap times (I certainly wasn't faster with the TV-Cam view). QUOTE Manual gear changing was one of the hardest things for me to learn when I started playing driving games - it is very difficult when you first try it so a lot of people are probably put off and decide to stick with 'Auto Shifting'. Manual shifting is definitely worth the effort though. Maybe i'll join you on this one It seems to be one of those things where once you have it perfected you never forget it and it can easily be applied to any racing game - for me personally it is much more interesting using manual gears and I really enjoy it, manual downshifting can also help shorten braking distances slightly (due to engine braking) and if I try to go back to automatic gears it feels very strange (as if there is nothing to do while driving). It's certainly one of the most challenging parts to racing simulations when you first start out but once you learn to shift gears manually you will get more enjoyment out of the game and you'll wonder how you ever used to drive with automatic gears.
