yeah... since they want to make it slimmer and portable.. they remove the dvd bay.. if u rarely use dvd drive, then.. its good. if u need, u might need to purchase external dvd
How about ASUS? From what I see most of their laptops still come with an optical drive. Some googling also pointed out that ASUS laptops are generally very reliable (although their tech support is not). I've checked the ASUS list from one of the sellers here. This is what I found:
Asus A455LD (Red, White, Yellow, Black) – 14” / i5-5200U / 4GB / 1TB / GT820M 2GB / W8.1 : RM2040/-
Asus A555LD-XX206H (RED) : 15.6” / i5-4210U / 4GB O.B / 1TB / GT820M 2GB / W8.1 : RM1940/-
Asus A555LD-XX685H, XX686H (Black, Dark Blue, Red) : 15.6” / i5-5200U / 4GB O.B / 1TB / GT820M 2GB / W8.1 : RM2040/-
Asus A555LD-XX699H, XX700H, XX701H (Red, Gray, White) : 15.6” / i7-4510U / 4GB O.B / 1TB / GT820M 2GB / W8.1 : RM2410/-
Asus A555LJ-XX032H – 15.6 / I5-5200 / 4GB / 1TB / GT920M 2GB / W8.1 : RM2040/-
Asus A550JK-DM138H – 15.6 FHD / i7-4710HQ / 4GB / 1TB / GTX850M 2GB / W8.1 : RM2860/-
Asus X751LDV-TY358H Ultrabook – 17.3” / i5-5200U / 6GB / 1TB / GT820M 2GB / W8.1 : RM2310/-
The last one in particular looks like a good deal no? 17 inch, 6GB RAM, less than RM 2.5k.
Any thoughts people?
