Brands  :  Preferably brand that provide good service. Msi and Acer is out of my list. Added more headache then they fixing my headache.
Budget  :  As stated above RM 2500 below. Exception might be given if specs seemed attractive ^^
Usage    :  Downloading, movie watching, doing reports and some gaming.
laptop    :  I think around 14" to 15.6" screen. Prefer a GPU which is alright and proven for most games especially recent ones. Wouldn't want a GPU which always crash when gaming.

I just use it to play any games especially horror games. Thinking of playing recent released of Alien Isolation or Evil Within. I am not planning to set the graphic to High or Ultra High. Average should be sufficient. Last time, bought a RM3000+ gaming laptop from MSi only to see it unable to play a number of games at average setting (which was released the same year as it).

Throttling at times, lagging, overheat at times and so on. Now, it goes into black screen mode when power on even before BIOS loaded after I sent it to have its thermal paste changed. I had enough with E-maintenance (Kelana) which couldn't even solve my laptop problem and handed me back a laptop with extra problems.

ah I am not high end gamer. Most of the time, my game setting is low. Not exactly a fan of graphics. Only play 1 or 2 games a month now with my works and in most case, I just watch youtubes.

Thanks for your time, myway1985 and silrave. I was thinking of 2 brands... Dell and Lenovo. Parents asked me to get a lenovo cause there is one service centre near my home. My brothers bought 1 lenovo and 1 Dell. The Dell which was bought was limited Edition which has a number of GPU problem... keep crashing when gaming. Luckily my bro was able to find a solution after weeks searching in all forums. So, I was like very reluctant if this things happened again. Lenovo seemed to be quite friendly in their customer service when my mum approach them. So, I was really having hard time to decide. I'll take a few days to weigh my needs for a laptop and a pc probably since I don't wanna carry around so many things XD

Well, he did try to ask for support but at that time, he was a bit busy. He didn't use it for playing higher end games, so he didn't notice anything was missing except ocassional blue screen until much later when he was free to play high end games. The customer service said he had to sent it in, he was like "jaw drop"... so far away... and it was like almost 1 year alr. Warranty almost out. So, he just look for online solution and noticed that the problem won't be fixed by any change of hardware or software. Some users said it was due to the BIOS issue. So, he waited till a new BIOS appeared.

What about Asus? Acer for that price compare to Lenovo , Lenovo has better specs. .so I'll rule out acer unless sifus here think otherwise..now I'm thinking of Lenovo and Asus. .

Hello guys, I have posted a topic bout this, and then found this pinned post. Sorry dear moderators. I need suggestion on the best gaming notebook, with screen 17", within RM5-6k budget. I'm not really good in this area and can be considered newbie. 

I'm planning to get it around 1 or 2 November, around 2 weeks from now. So I have plenty time to make a choice.

For now, my aim is MSI GT70 2pc dominator. Is it better to go for it or wait a little more for better specs with this budget? I've surveyed other notebook like Illegear, and can get GTX900m series for with little addition on budget. But the only weak point is the lack of appearance.

Asus is a big NO for me, bcause last time I bought an Asus, the customer service sucks so bad. However, I've bought 3 products from Asus, and only one have problem. The other 2 runs superbly and i'm very satisfied. Therefore i conclude as long as it don't have any problem at least until the warranty runs out, I think Asus is good enough too. But i don't want to take the risk anymore. 

And I've heard that MSI's service is quite bad too, but just hope that I'll not encounter major probs. 

So, I'll really appreciate if u guys have opinion and suggestion on this matter. Thanks guys.

i want to know if there are other options beside razer blade

1. Preferred Brand: currently razer blade 2014, not pro version because too bulky
2. Budget: rm8-9k
3. Usage : image processing, photo editing, GIS, autocad (not sure for gaming or not??)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14 inch (must be light weight, priority!)
