Thanks bro. Came back from the states a few months back and am currently looking for a job. In the mean time travel while I still can I'll be in Kuching, first time going to East Malaysia but too bad it's just for the weekend. Gonna be quite rushed haha.

Haha, when are you planning to start working? Gonna do anything related to photography? I just got my working holiday visa in New Zealand, going over there to find a job, hopefully its related to photography. Meanwhile, Im just doing photography now.

Yup, this thread seems kinda quiet nowadays. Seems like many has moved on

I think the camera trend had died down. It's like half of the camera street in Taipei had closed shop

The trend now is smartphone cameras lol. Their quality for these past few years have been improving, and more than enough for most people nowadays for Facebook and Instagram.

Yeah, it's not longer fashionable to carry around a big black box with big black or white lenses anymore. Everyone is using their mirrorless/GoPros/smartphones to take photos nowadays.

But I agree, the quality from phones like the Note 5 is really really good for what it is. Definitely more than adequate for FB or Insta. And the quality is only gonna improve in the next few years

Now most of the camera shop already selling smart phones, a camera shop owner told me, the camera sales drop like 60-70% every year as people prefer smart phone.

but problem is that 90% of the phone shots i took all failed as stock, coz noise etc...

No doubt but for a person who's incapable of taking nice photos but enjoy the feel of clicking the shutter... smartphones just don't do it for me. No "feel"

Yup. Most are gone except for a feel old time shops that have their own steady stream of customers.

Most people's SOP if they don't have a specific go-to shop or buying big ticket item is run a search through Yahoo auction (below) and go to the seller shop to buy.

Prices are nothing special but its the defacto showroom for brands to show their stuffs in Taipei. Definitely the place to go if you wanna check how that camera body feels like or how does that bag look like in real life etc.

I agree, I still prefer my dSLR but I do realize that sometimes I have more fun and enjoy myself more when I'm not lugging around my camera and instead just focus on enjoying the trip/scenery/friends/etc. But then again, when I do bring my camera out and look at the pictures afterwards it gives me this warm and fuzzy feeling inside

But tbh, cameraphones nowadays are really great. These were shot in auto mode on my Note 5. It's not perfect but for something that came out of a phone, most people would be satisfied with the quality. The only edit I did was to remove the number plates.
