i want to ask that,as videographer,,

1)which one should i get either sigma 50mm f1.4 or samyang 50mm t1.5?

2)what are difference between samyang 50mm t1.5 and samyang 50mm f1.4?

TQ smile.gif
*
i would say the samyang is better because of it's a fully manual lens, making changing aperture easier and maybe smoother MF ring too. I am not a fan of sigma's MF ring, doesn't feel natural and a little too tight for my liking.

Nice!
I like the 3 flash setup more, all with soft box?
going to grab 1 soft box try it out 1st, then later expand to 2 flash.

Does getting 3rd party flash good? its there any cons about it? cause considering Yong Nou 560 Mk iv or the Ex version 565. whick has TTL in it.
just for my reference, on future expansion

i thought we answered this when you asked last time? hmm.gif

totally agree, it seems like he asks a lot theories but never practice or experiment with those info.

post pictures and ask for feedbacks would be better imo. smile.gif

Hi guys, i'm considering between to purchase the current canon 5d mark iii or should i wait for the upcoming canon 5d mark iv because i saw some article saying that it will be release this year. 5d mark iii has 22mp but the mark iv has 36mp in rumors. looks pretty amusing thou

what should i do on this issue? Mp really matter so much in photography?
*
canon should take care of their DR first then move on to megapixel.

once you try out other system (esp sony sensors), you can see how lacking canon is in shadow recovery.

Thanks for the replies all and really sorry for derailing this thread. I just want to get some feedbacks and figure out the details before I post for another feedback gathering session at a dedicated thread. Hope it's ok with you Canon folks!  biggrin.gif
Of course there will be a security deposit to secure against the rental. Eligible elite customers will not. I'm still finalizing the details.
But I'm really looking into long-term contract with studios (if they're willing).
Thanks. Do you have the link to those previous threads? Would love to study the reason of failure.
Based on my mathematics, do you think someone will rent, let's say 5D M3 body for RM 120+ per week?
Thanks for the feedback. Still figuring on the deposit but I'm really into getting camera to rent out at affordable rates. Will come out better figure once I have it finalized. Just here to gauge the sentiment and perform an interest check.  smile.gif

Thanks all  rclxms.gif

rm120 is quite affordable imo, easily worth it if you are using it for paid jobs.

i agree with goldfries's suggestions, those who wish to rent should sign some documents before renting and maybe join membership to protect both you and customers smile.gif

based on what?

well yong nuo isn't that bad. it might lose to the canon in terms of ttl accuracy but everything else should work as perfectly as the canon is.

Thanks! Hahaha. The blur might be caused by the lack of experience using the f2.8 aperture OR post-processing. sweat.gif

Anyone, just got quite upset by this.

Anyone has an experience with this kind of error before? The lens is Tamron 17-50 f2.8 (non-VC) on 70D. Fortunately, (I think) it's still under warranty, so I'm going to the shop in very near future. The strange thing is, my 70D can accommodate every other lenses I have (so I believe it's not my 70D's problem), BUT this error doesn't pop up when I put the problematic lens on my friend's 600D. Just to add, the lens gives out a strange short whizzing noise when it's "clicked" to either of the bodies. Doing some googling result in knowing that this problem is sadly rather familiar with this particular lens. grumble.gif
*
i also kena before with my older tammy 70-200 on my 550D. it looks like the aperture blade is stuck or something on my unit. remounted the lens for a few times then only it woks normally again.

http://www.cameraegg.org/confirmed-canon-5...nced-next-week/

- Canon high megapixel pro DSLR cameras, there will be two models: With and without AA filter, sensor resolution is said to be 53MP, will be in stock in March, 2015. (Reminder: Sony will also announce a 50MP A7R II soon) The name of these high megapixel cameras haven’t set yet, could be Canon EOS 3D or Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
- Canon EOS Rebel T6i / 750D
- Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM Lens, this new wide-angle zoom lens will cost around $2,800.
- Canon EOS M3
- New Canon PowerShot Cameras

shocking.gif

meanwhile most of us are still living with 10+ mega pixel cameras tongue.gif

still, if the dynamic range is as bad as current canon cameras, then i don't see too many people getting it.

dynamic range is overrated.

most people still producing shit stuff and give them additional 5 dynamic range and it will be just shit with more tonality.
*
Hmm I agree and disagree on this one.

The bending from pulling up the shadows on the canon sensors is still unbearable to me. They are even visible in web viewing resolution.

Anyways I feel a little excited on the eos m3 though, might be a not bad camera if they make the autofocus faster and evf buukd in.

And how many people actually worry about these stuff? smile.gif

Those are minor stuff, people have been doing great works with Canon camera.
*
well it's there. you can ignore it when you don't need it, but lets say one day you forgot to change your exposure before taking a shot and it turns out to be under exposed for 2 or 3 stops. you try to recover it but end up with a lot of noise that's very obvious. It happened to me before when I was shooting a bird.

You can say people is spoiled with too much of dynamic range. The same logic applies to newer cameras with fancy features compared to old dinosaur like 30d or 40d, you can still get awesome results with these older cameras but then the space for improvement is always there.

even my little em10 sensor has better dynamic range and noise handling than my eos M which doesn't make sense. Canon cameras aren't that cheap to start with so there's no excuse for them not to create a proper sensor that fits with current technology.

overrated, not spoiled by it. smile.gif

meaning so many people placing emphasis on it without knowing what it actually is and in many cases, don't see how their photos could even improve with the dynamic range.

and can't blame sensor for user problem. tongue.gif if your photo is nice then the recovery with slight noise shouldn't be a problem as well.
*
let's say, you have the same composition, same angle, same aperture, same exposure and bla bla bla. but then you are limited to 1 shot and you are shooting landscape with a very bright sky and dark foreground. you have one canon dslr and another one with sony sensor both shooting raw. the one from the sony sensor is going to have better potential than the one from canon for sure after properly edited.

i know, but then not everyone is the kind of person who never did mistakes on under or over exposing a shot. more so if the shot means a lot then of course he or she will try the best to recover and obtain the optimum result. the problem with canon's shadow noise is that it's very hard to remove because of the horizontal pattern.

take this image as example

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7414/1149851...341d51426_o.jpg

it was one of my best bird shot ever but then i saw that bird when i was walking around my house. i ran into my room and grabbed the camera to take this photo but didn't have time to change the settings because I was in a rush and ended up with 2 - 3 stops of underexposed picture. had to apply a lot of noise reduction and selective blur to clean out the color noise.

you don't need it but that doesn't mean others don't, furthermore when it's under the industry standard already when everyone else can do better.

You're just being picky over your photo. A nice photo is a nice photo, that photo of your is nice. smile.gif I think that's sufficient, if one wants to be picky then nothing a camera brand can do.

If it's a user mistake, just too bad on the recovery part.

On the same note, you need it doesn't mean the camera is bad as it is.

In the end it still remains, dynamic range is overrated and people who usually complain about it are people who don't need or don't know how to use it.

Remember, I said it's "overrated", I didn't say it's not useful or helpful.
*
thanks biggrin.gif

but then i actually still like canon cameras a lot, they aren't bad by any means especially given how good they can perform in wildlife/ sports.

canon cameras are quite perfect actually if given a proper sensor, you have cheap yet awesome lenses, awesome autofocus, awesome ergonomics and awesome support. imagine a 5D III with a a7 sensor, that would be really good.

at the end of the day, it's still user preference smile.gif

So Canon is following Nikon's step by making the 5D a megapixel monster then 1D for sports and lowlight? hmm.gif i am more curious about how the 6D II will be like (probably not so soon though)
